The Glitter Trend We're Going Ga-Ga For!

If I could live in a house smothered in glitter I would. I love the stuff... clarification... I love the biodegradable environmentally-friendly stuff. It makes the world so sparkly and pretty and joyful. I love seeing glitter on faces. I love seeing in on nails. I love seeing it applied to the scalp where the hair has been parted. And now there's a new area of one's body that I'm kind of, sort of, weirdly, enjoying seeing glitter on. Introducing...

Glitter Tongue.

Unlike many trends that are dreamed up in the hope of Instafame, this one came about purely by accident when makeup artist, Jacinta Vuković, was creating a lip look and the glitter made its way onto her tonuge to create this conversation-stopping look.

Instagrammers quickly got on board and doused their tongues in the sparkly stuff. And you know, I hate tongues, I think they're ugly. But when they're covered in glitter they look positively gorgeous!

One can't help but wonder though if the stuff gets caught between your teeth? Is it a dentist's nightmare? Is it easy to floss out? Or will you be spending weeks, if not months, pulling random pieces out?

It's a look that even the blokes can get on board with. And yes, I am fully appreciating that man's facial hair. That nose ring. And that glitter. Sahhhhwoooooooon.

The temptation to try this is real. It's so pretty! And whimsical! But using real glitter though? Hmmm, I'll pass on that. Edible glitter? Absolutely!

So do tell... does this trend make you want to bedazzle your tongue? Even if it is just for fun? Could this be your Halloween look sorted? (Yes at BRHQ we're already getting into the swing of Halloween.) Or is it a firm pass? Chat away!

Erm I don't think I'll be jumping on this trend...

8th September, 2017

I would imagine you could possibly end up with sparkly poos!

7th September, 2017

Oh my, just thought... what about 24 hours later... glitter poo!

7th September, 2017

Oh wow, even my man says this is disturbing, it reminds me of children who got confused when playing with glitter & glue and licked it.

Looks pretty but I won't do it. Might make a trend worthy photo for facebook. I am wanting to try glitter up my eyes but i think about the fall out all over the cheeks. When i was a young teen i had a glittery eye shadow pallet i wore the stuff heaps!

Thanks but no. Not so comfortable putting glitter on my tongue.

5th September, 2017

Yeah this is a pass for me, sure for photography sake it's awesome, but real life practical...not so much. I will stick to glitter on my cupcakes....

It looks so pretty but then I'm like WHHHYYY!!!??? I get it's for the look and possibly reaction but it's like oooo what should the next trend be? I know lets eat glitter lol. I just don't get it I guess. It's like the squiggly eye brow trend and the squiggly lipstick trend.....just no!

5th September, 2017

Ummmm..........lol. No words ha ha ha

4th September, 2017

Looks cool for a photo shoot but not something I would like on me

4th September, 2017

I like glitter on some things, but not the tongue sorry!

4th September, 2017

I can only cringe at how insanely uncomfortable this would feel. And you probably can't use edible glitter for fear of it dissolving too quickly. Imagine accidentally getting flecks of glitter in your throat eek that'd be so scratchy.

4th September, 2017

This would be awesome for Halloween. Hope someone does it.

If it were edible glitter I'd give it a go.
