How big is Wonder Woman right now? Crazy big. Super big. Amazonian big! Everywhere you turn she's staring you in the face. Fierce. Fabulous. A kick ass woman in a world full of silly superheroes (I'm sorry, no one can convince me Superman is awesome. Never going to happen. And Batman's cool - but he's just a rich boy with gadgets rather than an otherworldy being blessed with super powers). So we were sitting around the office gasbagging about the Daughter of Hippolyta and we found ourselves wondering if she'd be one to wear makeup. Instinct says no. Also (in her origin story) she was given life by Aphrodite, so we're pretty sure she wouldn't really need makeup. But then she enters our world and she'd be surrounded by women wearing it, and wouldn't she be curious to try it out? To see what the fuss is about in between kicking ass and taking names?
Well, turns out we're not the only people to ponder this - here's a short thread dedicated to the same topic.
Amelia then recalled that back in 2011 MAC released a Wonder Woman makeup collection, so really, that decided it. Wonder Woman wears makeup, because if she didn't she'd have come for the folk at MAC and thrown her tiara about. And also, those eyebrows of hers have stuff going on. We're sure of it.
So in the spirit of all things wonderful we present to you some of the coolest Wonder Woman, both past and present, inspired beauty products and looks.
Luxie Beauty's Wonder Woman Face Brush Set stole our breath away. Look at the colour of the handles!? Look at the design on the handles!? Look behind the middle brush to where there's a compact mirror inspired by Wonder Woman's shield. Take our money already!!
Someone else who could have our money, but can't, because they don't ship here...
Walgreens, your retro Wonder Woman brush and bag set is super cool - and if I could get my hands on it I would, because the more the merrier. And that makeup bag would be my new favourite. And man would I love to get my hands on the Wonder Woman makeup collection they've also released. How cute is this lip balm?
While I've got my sulk on... what wouldn't I give to get my hands on this limited edition collection from Benefit (available exclusively from HSN, and no, they don't deliver here).
I could be given a choice of a night with Chris Pine or this set, and I know what I'd be choosing. Sorry Chris!
Want to smell like Wonder Woman? You're not alone. Jean Paul Gaultier made it so with Classic Wonder Woman Eau Fraiche. A perfume with hints of lemon sorbet, ginger and sugar cane juice. And how cool is the packaging?
If you'd like to rock the old-school Wonder Woman face for a dress-up party, this is the tutorial for you! The divine NikkieTutorials has created this awesome look. We'd go so far as to say Nikkie is the Wonder Woman of makeup land. Girlfriend has mad skills!!
So, are you a fan of all things Wonder Woman? What would you get your hands on if you could? Does the idea of dressing up as the divine Diana for Halloween, complete with the Lasso of Truth and comic-book inspired makeup have you giddy? Chat away...
I want the Luxie Beauty's Wonder Woman makeup face brush set! I loved the movie and Wonder Woman is a true inspiration!
