Serums.  If you're already using one, chances are you can't imagine life before it.  If you're not already on board, why not?!  If I had to guess I'd say...overwhelming choice!

So here's a list of the 10 best serums to narrow down your options.  And it's not based on brands, editors or even the Beauty Crew's opinions.  As if!  We present New Zealand's Top Ten Serums as rated by shoppers that have bought them and used them - that's you!

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum.  Rated: 4.8/5

They Say:  Soothe the weakened skin barrier and calm fragile or irritated skin with this gentle, first defence rescue serum.

You Say: SOS for your skin! It's a nice product to have if you suffer eczema or very sensitive skin and you sometimes can't use products, you could just use this alone as a gentle moisturiser. It comes in a 30ml bottle and as with the other [Trilogy] products a little goes a long way so it's good value and I am adding this to my skincare regime. It's a must have for me now!  Beauty Reviewer: JennyWren

Oasis Hot Toddy Serum.  Rated: 4.7/5

They Say:  This deliciously concentrated beauty cocktail has been artfully crafted to provide corrective hydration directly to the deeper layers of dry, sensitive or prematurely aged skin.

You Say:  This re-hydrated my skin and protected it so well. After a week of using this serum my skin was glowing and felt amazing, a week prior it was sore and dry. I was really happy with this product and will continue to use it.  Beauty Reviewer: Salem29

Antipodes Divine Face Oil.  Rated: 4.5/5

They Say:  Give a lift to tired, stressed and sun-damaged skin with this nutrient-rich face oil that helps to deliver antioxidants and essential nourishment for fresh, healthy skin.

You Say:  The best part is waking up with soft, smooth and hydrated skin! I personally used this as part of my night time skin care routine and absolutely loved it. One of those items that will be permanently on my repurchase list.  Beauty Reviewer: katenisbet

Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  Experience the revitalising and clarifying benefits of using a highly concentrated formula created created with local NZ hops, along with organic camellia and apricot oils.

You Say:  The serum itself has a really unusual consistency, it looks creamy, but feels fluffy - it's divine!  Since using this my skin is more supple, I have not had any breakouts, and it has a soft sort of radiance to it. This really is liquid gold!  Beauty Reviewer: SandieNZ

Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  For those who are time poor or can not fit a regular facial into the budget, this is the perfect product which combines the positive effects of an indulgent facial into your daily skincare regime.

You Say:  After a few days of regular use I noticed that my skin looked a lot brighter and healthier which is great at the moment as I am not the healthiest so anything is a bonus! I've also noticed that scars on my face are far less noticeable. My skin also feels a lot softer. I would absolutely recommend this oil and it is definitely worth the slightly higher price. Beauty Reviewer:  Justinet

Trilogy Very Gentle Restoring Oil.  Rated: 4.3/5

They Say:  Repair and protect sensitive skin with maqui berry, apricot, and sea buckthorn.

You Say: It's super gentle, leaving no irritation, and is calming for flushed, irritated skin, while really restoring winter-ravaged skin. The morning after using it my skin is lovely and soft and supple, and I have had no break outs with it. You only need a few drops to get maximum results - I can't recommend it enough!  Beauty Reviewer: KiwiLass

Trilogy Nutrient Plus Firming Serum.  Rated: 4.2/5

They Say:   Perfect everyday, or for special occasions, it's the ideal skin pick-me-up for a youthful look and feel.

You Say:   This is one of those crazy products that you stumble across, where you can see and feel the difference right away. It really sunk into my skin quite quickly and felt it start to tighten. I just couldn't get over how amazing it was.  Beauty Reviewer: Katya

Evolu Rosehip & Friends.  Rated: 4.2/5

They Say:  This gentle facial oil is your skin’s daily infusion of radiance-renewing goodness, powered by a unique synergy of skin-friendly botanicals.

You Say:  All in all the price tag, the size of the bottle, the fact it is full of natural goodness and the way my skin glows when I use it is definitely a cause for recommendation, it's really lovely and feels a lot more luxurious that it's $29.99 selling price. Also it's an NZ brand, what more could you ask for!?  Beauty Reviewer:  LLL1985

Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil.  Rated: 4.1/5

They Say:  Age Proof CoQ10 Booster Serum is an intense treatment formulated to deliver a glowing radiant complexion while reducing the signs of premature ageing.

You Say:   This is an amazing product! I've never been one to spend this kind of money on one of the so many products that claim to improve wrinkles and fine lines but, it was given to me as a gift and I can not stop raving about it . It is expensive and not to mention tiny but such a treat. I received alot of compliments on my skin from work mates and I had to stop myself from carrying on so much about it because I was starting to sound like I held shares in the company.  Beauty Reviewer:  Nova

Living Nature Radiance Night Oil.  Rated: 4.1/5

They Say:  With Rose Oil to naturally stimulate your skin's own collagen production, Organic Rosehip Oil to aid cell regeneration and repair damaged skin tissue.

You Say:  Its now been 1 month since using the Radiance oil both morning and night and I cant imagine living without this product. My fine lines have reduced immensely, each time I get scabs they heal quickly and the dryness around my nose has disappeared. I love how it gives my skin a glow without makeup and when I do apply foundation or makeup it doesn't crease under my eyes and I dont use as much foundation as I normally do because my skin is really good. Beauty Reviewer:  Lutece

I love Living Nature but also Dragons Blood and Dr Winns

This list was great until..... I decided I needed the Oasis Straight Up in my life, and support a local company why not. It's been discontinued. The last review was in 2014 - Logic would dictate that if you're doing a list like this that (a) it has recent reviews and more importantly (b) is still available!

25th January, 2018

I've tried a few serums but I've not found the one yet. Interesting to see oils on this list.

25th January, 2018

I love Trilogy restoring oil is so lovely!

24th January, 2018

Omg why is A'Kin Vitamin C Rosehip Oil not up there? Super shocked it didn't make the cut wahhhhh lol. I've tried a few of these shown above and yes I honestly could never go back. I swear by serums as a few of them have really improved my skin dramatically over the years. I have the Evolu Rosehip and Friends on my wish list to try next.

24th January, 2018

Hmm I thought I'd tried the Antipodes oil but I haven't done a review so maybe it was something else. I absolutely love the living Nature radiance night oil. I also liked the True oil and several others - there are some awesome serums out there!

I have tried all of these with the exception of the Trilogy Gentle Restoring Oil and The Evolu Rosehip and Friends. I think my faves off the ones on this list are the Oasis ones, Trilogy Nutrient Plus Firming and Very Calming Serum. Since they all absorb pretty quickly into the skin and give a glow and the Trilogy Very Calming Serum is good for me when I have rubbed my nose raw from blowing it and everything seems to irritate it. Oxygen one is quite good at absorbing quickly but I just didn't see as many results using it. The Antipodes one is nice for dry skin. I found the Linden Leaves one really pricey and thick so unless you have uber dry skin or like a more emollient oil then I would avoid purchasing it. The Living Nature one is nice but I just can't justify the price tag especially considering the size of the bottle, 10mls. If you are looking for cheap water based serums I would recommend the Ordinary because they work pretty well and depending on where you buy them you could get a 30ml bottle for under 10 NZD bucks. My faves are the Niacinamide for oily skin, the Alpha Arbutin for fading scars from recent pimples, the Buffet for all around anti-aging and the Retinoids for an affordable retinol/retinoid that's gentle and painlessly smooths your skin over time. For a NZ made serum my all time fave is the Antipodes Hosanna Serum that stuff is pricey but it plumps up your skin and gives it hydration. I tried going without it to save money and my skin felt a bit drier and more oily till I started using it again every night.

I love the antipodes but it didn’t work as well as the trilogy for me

23rd January, 2018

I really like a lot of Oasis products, particularly their sunscreen. Will definitely be keen to try their serums - the reviews are so positive!

22nd January, 2018

I am always on the search for new serums! I have dry and quite sensitive skin so find it hard to find products that agree with my skin. I love natural products, I find my skin doesn't react to natural products and the ones I have used have worked well on my skin so far. I have used the trilogy one and loved it so can't wait to give some of these a go :)

So many to choose from

These look great, love Triogy products!

21st January, 2018

All of these sound so good...Trilogy would be my top choice

I’ve heard great things about Evolu Rosehip & Friends - I think that’s one I’ll be trying in 2018 especially for a little extra goodness over winter

19th January, 2018

I love serum. I’ve tried Trilogy, Antipodes and L’Oreal and they are all good.

I have very dry & sensitive skin too. The above worked for me - Trilogy Calming Serum, Antipodes Divine Face Oil, Oxygen Botanical Serum, Linden Leaves Miraculous Face Oil and Trilogy Very Gentle Restoring Oil. No reactions at all and worked well :-)

Where do you the Ordinary? I've heard of them, and have acne scars/blemishes and would love to give them a go!

Diana you get The Ordinary from Bautylish, free shipping if you spend over $35. I'm a new fan to it.

The funny thing is Beautylish is where you find expensive stuff but it carries the cheapest price for the Ordinary products. I usually spend around $35 and get free shipping.

Oooh yes I really liked the Dragons Blood too :-)
