Over this hair-focused month, we've covered the tools we love to use, hair colours that inspire us, hair looks that are iconic, ways to amp up our day-to-day style and more. One thing we've not gone into? How to take good care of our hair. Whether your mane is coloured on the regular, or you're working with what nature gave you, keeping your hair in tip top condition is easy if you take the time to give it the attention it deserves. So what can you do to keep your crowning glory looking, er, glorious? Check out these tips and tricks...
1. First things first... use hair products that are designed for your hair type. Dry hair? Look for shampoos and conditioners designed to nourish. Prone to frizz? Look for products that hydrate. Oily hair? Products that work to clarify your locks are for you.
2. If your hair is coloured, then look for a sulfate-free shampoo, which will work to keep the colour locked in.
3. Try not to wash your hair all the time. Depending on your hair type, try and aim to wash every two to three days, or longer if you can manage it, as this will stop you stripping your scalp of its natural oils, which can lead to more oil, dandruff, not to mention lack of longevity if you colour your hair.
4. If your hair's on the dry side or you like to colour it, a deep conditioner or mask once a week will work wonders, keeping it looking healthy and shiny longer.
5. We'd never tell you to skip your straightener, tongs or hair dryers - we're not hypocrites! However, if you're going to be taking a hot tool to your hair, make sure you use a heat protectant.
6. Trim your hair regularly. Not only will this keep your hair style looking spot on, it'll remove any split ends, which can leave your hair looking worse for wear.
7. If you're fond of colouring your hair, use a colour-protecting spray or serum to keep your locks looking lush and vibrant.
8. If you're a long-haired beauty, then try not to keep your hair pulled back too tight too often (we're looking at you BR Kellie), as this can cause hair damage, and potentially even hair loss.
9. Heading out into the sun? Slap on a hat to avoid UV damage, which can make hair lacklustre and brittle.
10. Finally, eat a well-balanced diet. Getting enough Vitamins A and C, not to mention protein, omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, iron and biotin can work to create healthy hair growth while preventing damage (as always, speak to a health professional before changing up your diet).
All in all, it's not hard to keep your hair in top health - it's just a bit of common sense when it comes to choosing the right products, eating as well as you can, keeping your hair protected from heat, and treating your hair well on the regular.

I’m definitely guilty of not getting my long locks trimmed as often as I should!
