Uber Makeup Palettes

When we discovered the Sephora Deco Daze Blockbuster (only $49 US!) palette last week we had just a smidgen of lust in our eyes.  But a seed was sown and we all know what happens when the seed of a beauty product is planted right?!

Palettes and makeup sets have a way of dividing people.  Some believe you'll try things you'd never normally consider, others hate the thought of paying and not being sure they'll use all of the contents.  Some palettes offer better value for money than if you were to buy the pieces individually, others cost more but feature a fancy carry box.  And then of course, there's those wicked, wicked sets that feature a limited edition product.

Never one to shy away from naughty feelings we decided to indulge ourselves - and find the best palettes and sets out there. Gird your loins ladies, you're about to be overcome by full blown lust (and a smidgen of envy).

Nars Vault.  $500

10 Audacious Lipsticks and 10 Nail Polishes.  Your lips really can match your tips, and they ride in style - a wooden box with a pretty impressive mirror.   The mirror is engraved with a quote by Francois Nars - "I always believe there's beauty in everybody".  Ahhh.

Tarte Dreams Come Hue.  $175

Featuring 12 of the best of Tarte's lip and cheek shades this gift set isn't a palette per say, but you do get the choice of shades and the great thing is you can take individual products with you.  Oh and at retail the 12 products are worth $300!

Lorac Eye Candy Full Face Collection.  $59

This looks like a beautiful box of chocolates - it contains 4 eye palettes, a lip and cheek palette and a cream liner palette.  And it looks like chocolate.  Chocolate.

Bite Beauty Lip Library.  $40

There's just one letter in this library...B.  Super cute and really wearable and blendable shades, this is a fantastic way to experience the amazing Bite Beauty.

Urban Decay Naked Vault.  $280

Brace yourselves ladies, we think this is going to excite you more than a naked Mr Gosling.  In this kit you get the three iconic Naked palettes, 3 eye pencils, 3 lip glosses and 3 blushes.  And all products fit in a gorgeous vault.

Too Faced Sweet Indulgence Palette.  $52

Why do companies keep tempting us by combining our love of beauty for our love of yummy things?! This set contains 16 eye shadows, two blushes, two bronzers, a highlighter, and a face primer.  Come to mama.

 Avon Ultimate Mega Palette.  $30

No longer just for Nannas, Avon have an amazing range of cosmetics that you seriously need to try.  And this palette with 36 eyeshadows, 36 lip colours and 6 blushes will give you amazing looks at a fantastic price.  Here's hoping they make it to NZ shores!

Make Up Forever Makeup Station.  $300

Worth over $650 all up, this is a bargain set for sure.  It contains a mix of full size and travel sized products and contains everything you need to create full makeup looks from one box.

Nordstorm Cosmetic Palette.  $35

84 eyeshadows, 60 lip colours, 3 blushes, 8 makeup tools and 2 all over colour blocks - come on, for around $45 NZ you can't really go wrong right?!

I've made my choice I need two faced palette it's definitely my perfect pack with my colours and a primer. Gotta have this so now where to get it from.

1st February, 2015

I love this review of products and good choices seem to be lorac or the two faced... But my super shopper discount beacon is saying sephora super palette. I honestly am stuck right now and still would have revisit my options. As I'm writing I'm questionin myself. With logic and desire.......

1st February, 2015

They all take my fancy but the Bite Beauty would take my fancy the most if the colors were more my shade. I do like the UD Naked Vault because those are everyday palettes so I'd be more likely to use them.

1st February, 2015

Urban Decay Naked Vault is my fav out of all of them =)

Oh Sephora!! That looks too good for words, the fun I could have with that!! Adore the Lorac Eye Candy box but I'd be worried I'd keep it rather than use it, it looks beautiful. I'm divided on palettes tbh. Part of me thinks they are a lower quality product, more for the 16 year old girls than the grown woman. I do like Chi Chi Eyeshadow palettes though, with colours that work together with amazing pigment - they are similar to Urban Decay. Blush palettes are useful too. Can't do lip gloss palettes though. Just, No.

The packaging alone makes me drool with envy, would like to try them all. This is when a clone, would come in handy, so you could use more than one, and try other looks on your other half LOL.

31st January, 2015

Makeup forever station and the Urban decay vault. My life would actually be complete with these. But... my bank account would definitely take a lot of damage!!

30th January, 2015

Ooooh the Urban Decay one looks super good, I don't own a palette, so having this would be amazing :-)

29th January, 2015

These palettes look amazing, and some are reasonably priced, too.
