You may be thinking...isn't nail polish already waterproof, it doesn't 'wash off' in water? We thought so too but apparently water could be your nail polish's biggest enemy. The wetter your beautiful manicure gets the quicker it will fade, chip and shrink, EEK!!! At this point you may be tempted to spend your days wearing latex gloves to protect your polish but never fear Sally Hansen comes to the rescue!

Sally Hansen has produced their Triple Shine nail polish to provide the ultimate protection against water and workout. Not only is this product meant to protect but apparently it contains crushed pearls which deliver a glossy colour. Hmmmmm big claims?

So what do you think? Are they looking for reasons to create nail polishes or have they hit the nail on the head (excuse the pun)?

I've just brought myself a bottle of this in Slick Black and can't wait to put it to the test! I'm the dishes queen in this house so it's bound to get a good workout :)

I personally love changing up my nail polish every 3 days or so. My nails grow so fast and yes some polish does chip off, but I love changing my colours. I don't really care about the waterproof qualities I just love those colours! Would buy them because the colours look amazing, not really for anything else.

I want to try this! My nail polish chips from washing dishes but if this stuff will make it last a bit longer its worth trying

Always have a problem with my nail polish peeling off after I've painted them! This could be my answer! Having a baby at home, I'm always washing my hands. My nail polish just peels off! I would love to review this product! It would be interesting to see if it actually makes a difference!

This is actually true. Water absorption occurs through the nail plate and nail bed causing the nail to flatten out and become softer. As nail polish is worn on top of the nail it actually protects the nail from full exposure to water and hence won't absorb as much. But as the nail polish is on the top surface and fully exposed, it will absorb the water instead of the nail. The water molecules can break down the bonds in the nail polish causing it to chip. So there is some truth in Sally hansens triple shine polish... (P.s sorry for sounding a bit technical)

I love this idea! As someone who refuses to use the dish washer, washing the dishes is the biggest enemy of my nails so this would just be fantastic. I am however a little worried about what would happen if I got the nail polish on my skin and how easy it would be to get off as I find it normally comes off when showering but the range looks great. I must go find some

keen to try it out - im a nail polish freak so longer lasting in water is all good by me!

Anyhting that can extend great wear on your nails is great. Waterproofing sounds like a good idea to me, love the shades too!

Interesting. I don't really have an issue with colour fade but I'm a shocking one for changing my nail colour on average at least twice a week. However my best friend who's a hairdresser is always complaining about her nail polish being a bit lack lustre and insipid. So maybe there is some truth in this. I would definitely give it a go.

Wow I never knew any of that! You learn something new every day! I think this would be super interesting to try but I don't think I'd buy some myself because I'm skeptical!

I would love to give this a go. I washed my car yesterday and totally trashed my nail polish in the process.

If thats all true then Im all go for it. I must admit my nail polish does chip and fade quick when in the water so if Sally Hansens created a new nail polish that will last longer well then that is amazing!!!!

I am a colourgloss girl anyway as normal nail polish lasts about 5 mins before it gets chipped and fades, perhaps this is because of water, who knows.

29th December, 2013

Well this is something different , didn't even no that water did that! looks like il be keeping away from doing the dishes (joking) id still love to try and see if the nail polish works or not :)

I am forever washing my hands between nappy changes/toilet trips with older child and making meals and cleaning up, I think my hands are hardly ever out of water... I could really put this one to the test ;)
