Ok, we all know what Marilyn wore to bed. But for the Norma Jeans among us, let's just accept that it takes more than a spritz of Chanel No 5 to be bed-ready.
For once we can't say there are only two answers to our ponderings; after all, being dressed for bed depends on a lot - marital status, comfort preferences, who's bed we're in. So we, being the nosy crew we are, want to find out what our members wear to bed?
Why? Well, after a quick poll around BRHQ we discovered we're sleep slobs. You will pretty much find us in any of the bottom three of our list of bed outfits:
- Nothing. Nuddy bum sleeping is the choice for some. Add glamour points if you wear just perfume.
- You man's shirt. No, not his Tool t shirt. An actual dress shirt, aka, the sexy shirt. (Does this ever happen?)
- Whatever you were wearing prior to entering the bedroom. Yes, apparently some people sleep in their clothes. Their actual clothes that they have been wearing all day.
- Weather appropriate pjs. Be it flannel in the Winter, or little vest and shorts for the Summer. They will of course always be a matching set.
- A nightdress. A ladylike one, preferably silky.
- A nightie. A long, shapeless t shirt, preferably with a cute picture on it.
- Mis-matched pjs. But specific bedwear none the less.
- Vest and knickers. Hopefully fresh!
- Loungewear. Or old comfy clothing. Sweatpants, husband's t shirt, your university t shirt.
Now some of the crew are adament that they wear what they wear to bed, and this never changes. Hotel, hospital, staying at a relatives. They will not 'dress up' for bed. Other members of the Beauty Crew recalled last minute nightdress purchasing before going into labour, or the stress of what pyjama sets gave a suitable "effortlessly cool and sexy" vibe for their first proper sleepover with their boyfriend.
So what do you wear to bed? Does anything prompt you to change your bed outfit? Do you go for comfort or style?
The Beauty Confessional is once again open!
Since I was a teen it's always just been underwear on the bottom half and that's it. Bathrobe for middle of the night toilet trips, and if I'm staying over At a friends house I have a few old tees and either shorts or my one pair of long bottoms if it's extra chilly. I'm a creature of habit and I'm far too lazy to do extra laundry for pyjamas
