Why You Need To Put Balls On Your Face

It ought to be no surprise that the Beauty Review Crew are big fans of facial massage tools. Off the top of my head I know that we've tried face cupping, jade rollers, vibrating buzzy machines, as well as contour rollers. Basically, if it promises to enliven our face, we're going to try it, which is why I'm dead keen to get my hands on ice globes!

So, just what are ice globes? Why do we need them? And how do they differ from other tools we've tried? Read on...

What are ice globes?

Ice globes are a massage tool, made from steel, glass or fiberglass, that feature wand-like handles topped off by round spheres. Hence the globe part of the name. The 'ice' part of the name come from how you pop them in the fridge or freezer in order to chill them before use.

What do ice globes do?

Due to their chillled out nature, when rolled over one's face, ice globes constrict your skin's blood vessels and help with circulation, which has the knock on effect of reducing the look of redness, while de-puffing skin, leaving it looking lifted and awake.

How exactly do you use them?

Much like other massage tools, you want to use ice globes from the centre of your face moving down. For example, roll them from the inner brow, across the forehead, then down the sides of your face. Then take them from the sides of your nose, out under your eyes, then down your neck. If you want to add a beauty boost to the process, pop on your serum or moisturiser before using your globes.

Is there a downside?

What's not to love about looking lifted and glowy? Welllllll... The only thing putting me off popping them in a cart and buying them? The price. At around $60 - $70 (and then some in the case of some brands), ice globes are not the most afforable tool in the box, and I'm afraid that for me they'll end up a case of buy, try, then never use them again, making them a great big waste of moolah. Which is why I need to know this...

My lovelies, have you tried icy globes? What were your thoughts? Would you recommend them? And if you've not used them are you intrigued? Would you try them? Or is this a pass for you? Chat below!

Interesting read!

Haven’t tried this before but I have seen a similar thing done with spoons put in the freezer haha maybe that’s the cheaper option

Never tried these before but would definitely be interested in doing so!! Not too sure about the price though. Seems to be pricey

The ones pictured look really nice and the theory behind the results make sense. Still not something I'm looking to purchase though.

I would definitely try these! BUT as you said the price puts me off - would love to try some balls on my face though! LOL

Oh bit expensive for me and as l am likely to try once and not use again , perhaps a cheaper version may come out to try , and l might surprise myself and like it !

Never tried them but I'd certainly be open to! But what about just a good old ice cube?

I’ve been wanting to try these out too! But haven’t wanted to spend the money on them either. They are on my beauty wish list though

The idea of anything ice cold on my sensitive face sounds terrible to me! I reckon it would just revive the rosacea that I've managed to keep at bay for years. But even if I had more robust skin, I wouldn't shell out that amount. I'd go for the marbles-or-teaspoons-in-the-freezer thing first. Hilarious! But actually not a bad idea to trial the concept, I reckon!

I'm kind of intrigued, but this also feels like you could easily replicate this by putting a stainless steel teaspoon in the fridge/freezer or any other roller tool you already owned. So not sure I'd want to spend the money.

I have not used anything like this, but I think you are right that they may not be worth the money. I could imagine that the skin does look a bit better straight after use, but I cannot see them having a lasting effect. You could just put some large marbles in the fridge or freezer, use them to massage your face and see what you think.

Ummm nah not for me. I do jade rolling but no idea if it even doing anything. I think this will be temporary and I’m not that vain hahaha…. Too busy
