Will You Be Faking It This Summer?

If you know us, you'll know we're big advocates of self-tanning.  If you want to be a golden goddess you need to fake it to make it; none of this baking in the sun or laying in a tube business!

But fake tanning can be a little scary for some people - the fear of streaks, the chemical smell, the risk of looking like an oompa loompa.

If those sound like your trepidations, then this is the trial team for you!

We're putting Secret Glo Tanning Gloves to the test!  Each premeasured glove will give your entire body a golden glow from head to toe! Secret Glo is the self-tanning glove that gives you a gorgeous summer glow without harmful UV rays or messy tanning creams.

And, it's apparently really simple to use and almost impossible to mess up! All you do is put the glove on your hand, and rub across the areas that you want tanned. Secret Glo dries in just a few minutes leaving you with a healthy, glowing tan, and none of the  mess on your hands unlike some other tanning products.

This solution claims not to stain clothes, nor will it wash away when shaving or in the swimming pool.  Andd...it claims to last for 10 days!

If you'd like to put your hand up for this trial, why not tell us your experiences with fake tan - do you usually use a spray, or are you a lotion, cream or mousse girl?  What about this product stands out for you?

I currently use Dove gradual tan. I still manage to make it patchy in places! Would love to give this a go. Like to have a tan but burn in the sun! Live in Central Otago so a tan is a must!!

Oh yes over the years the medicines I have taken have made my fair skin extra easily burnt in the sun so I will be slip slop slapping from now on and the shade will be my friend. I currently have tried gradual tan moisturizers such as dove and johnsons and I have on the shelf Vani-t spray (the cream tan from this brand is good too) garnier and avon. I am already well stocked with fake glows :)

All sounds great- no mess, instant results, no smell, doesn't stain and it lasts. Hurray, something that sounds as though it will change my white skin into something that looks healthy without being out in the sun!

I've tried them all! Favourites would be L'oreal and Fructis Garnier. I would love to try this method out...

I feel so good with a bit of fake tan on. I'm very pale and feel like I need to tan my legs a little, I don't want to blind anyone with my bright white legs. I'm loving Bondi sands tan at the moment. I can see where I'm applying and has a pleasant scent.

Hell yes BR & this product looks interesting...pick me, pick me! I have to fake it to make it as I'm pale so don't tan naturally at all need some help to get some glow :)

I like that it only takes minutes to dry, so convenient. I've tried moisturizers with a hint of tan in them, but it brought me out in eczema.

14th December, 2015

I voted not for me but on the basis that I have never fake tanned in my life and would not know where to start, however if these are easy and look great would be so keen to try them- I need to be glowing without the sun damage hehe

14th December, 2015

I've only tried tanning moisturisers. But I'd love to try this! My skin is so uneven, as I drive a lot, my right arm is SO much more tan than my left hahaha it would be nice to even them up! And give my legs a bit of pigment too!

Yes, yes, yes!! All about the fake tan! I hardly ever go out in the sun, well if I'm walking or gardening etc but always sunscreened up (I know that's not a word). Would love to try this, it's hard to get a really good fake tan at a decent price that works well and doesn't make you look like an Oompahloompah hehe

I have had so many tanning disasters but just keep trying! Mousse, spray, lotion, gradual tanning moisturiser, I've tried 'em all. These look too hard for even me to screw up!

I would LOVE to try this. I colouring is borderline blue. Doesnt matter how many times I lay out in the sun the most I get is red and then back to white. I have tried to many fake tans. From the Garnier spray can, dove tanning moisturiser to the Loreal Sublime bronze. They all leave me with that musty smell you get when your skin reacts to the formula. The dove tanning moisturiser sneaks up on you, so you end up at the end of the 3rd day looking rather orange. The Loreal is too sparkly (lots of glitter) and the garnier spray leaves me with black soles of my feet as I stand in the residue left from the spray.

This sounds simple to apply. Would love to try this.

I'm really pale skinned so any fake tan seems to make me look like one of willy wonkas oompah loompahs. I don't tan very well either just burn and peel. I'd love to give this a try tho

5th December, 2015

When I was younger I tried, unsuccessfully for the most part, a lot of fake tan products! Creams, sprays, girls....... The only guaranteed outcome for me was dark knees and elbows, blotchy almost everywhere else and who can forget the yellow palms!! LOL! I'd love to try a product that promises the opposite!

5th December, 2015

I know I don't need a tan :-/ but I've always been curious about getting one. I wouldn't do one out of a box though; I'd prefer try a salon first because atleast I'll know what it should look like though I don't think I'd be able to tell on my chocolate skin. Unless I go a rich cocoa colour hmmmm. I hope you lovelies who get on the trial post to the photo wall, I'd love to see before and after pics :-)
