Don't pop your pimples!
Leave your zits alone! You'll scar!
Touch those spots and the bacteria will spread and you'll just get more of them!
Whether it's family, friends, beauty therapists, magazines or the internet, it's pretty safe to say we grow up hearing that we need to leave our zits alone.
No squeezing. No pushing. No digging. No splatting.
Do we listen? Now I have no scientific numbers to hand, but I would hazard a guess that the majority of the population at one point have gotten in there and given a pimple a good poke.
And you know why we do it? According to this article from the Huffington Post, it's all to do with the dopamine. Basically we give a zit a squeeze, we extract the grossness and then this releases the dopamine, which gives our brain's 'reward center' a case of the happies.
Still, we know it's not ideal to squeeze the pimples. It can drive the ickiness (that's the scientific term - okay, it's not, but let's just go with it...) down deeper into the skin and exacerbate the problem. It can cause scarring. And, well, if you go too far you may well have to deal with a giant scab on your face for a few days. Or worse, an infection can occur.
So what's a girl to do when she's got the urge to squeeze but she knows she shouldn't? Well, thanks to the husband and wife team of Billy and Summer Pierce, you can now pick to your heart's content without damaging your skin, thanks to their ingenious invention - Pop it Pal.
In a nutshell, Pop it Pal is filled with fake pus and you can squeeze it. Enjoy the ooze. Feel that satisfaction of ridding something of gross gunk. It's like the next level toy for those who enjoy watching those videos of people extracting blackheads and whiteheads and goodness knows what else. (I could barely watch the Pop it Pal vids, the extraction videos are off my viewing list - I'm in awe of those who have the stomach to handle them.)
It's not just a one-push wonder either. You can buy refillable pus so you can get your squeeze on regularly.
Even better? If you buy a Pop it Pal not only will you be saving your skin and/or getting your jollies, you'll be helping out those having a hard time, because a portion of every sale is donated to charities that support kindness and the anti-bullying movement.
Now it's not for everyone, but I can see how it might be helpful to those who are wanting to leave their actual skin alone, but enjoy the rush of a good extraction.
Interested? They ship internationally.
So, do tell... are you a pimple popper? Can you see yourself having a grand old time playing with the Pop it Pal? Or is it a pass from you? Chat away!
