Is there a better time of the year than Autumn? It's easy to fall in love with, with its crisp mornings, where you can pull out a scarf and rug up, then shed the layers as the day warms up and bathe in the season's golden light. It's not just the weather that makes it such a glorious time of the year, it's the kicking of bronzed piles of leaves in parks and the excuse to sip on a hot chocolate while watching the sun disappear behind the horizon that inspires me to embrace all things Autumn... including the excuse it gives to take my hair and colour it in a nod to my favourite season. So what colour inspiration has captured my imagination? How can we take this divine time of year and showcase it in style?
Caramel
Are you a bit of a butterscotch beauty? Have a toffee-loving streak in you? Then this is your chance to embrace the cosy season by placing shades of caramel through your locks. Best of all, butterscotch inspired streaks can work whether you're light or dark haired.
Copper
Copper makes me think of Autumn in Arrowtown. It's the shade of the leaves that change colour before falling to the ground. It also reminds me of the flames of a fire. Of pumpkin spice lattes. Creamy pumpkin soup. Pumpkin everything, in fact. If ever there was a colour that represented Autumn, for me, copper is it.
Chocolate
That being said... deep, rich chocolate brown feels like a warm hug after a long day. It's decadent, but approachable, and for many completely doable at home using box dye. And so long as you're not too light haired naturally, the maintenance isn't on the high side.
Burgundy
LIke a little drama in your style? Burgundy is the shade for you! It's a bold statement that still speaks of Autumn with its warmth and shine. It's not for me per se, but it's a look I love to appreciate from afar.
So, my lovelies, does Autumn inform your hair colour? Do you have a favourite shade that you gravitate to? Or do you wear shades of Autumn in your tresses all year round? Chat below!
I love the copper but not for me
