Packaging is a plain cardboard box with a little picture, plain but attractive. Inside this box is a thick heavy plastic jar, not clear but a brushed plastic with a black screw top lid, very nice not cheap to the touch and to look at by no means. In the box are two different sized wooden flat sticks and some nice white thick cloth strips and instructions. I undo the lid and find it's sealed so I peel the top back and there it is this sticky golden brown wax it smells faintly like caramelised sugar and golden syrup. I wax myself most of the time and I know what I'm doing, so after letting everything revert back to the 60s eeeek that's a winter thing. For the squeamish or shy stop reading now. I lightly heat this wax in the microwave for 5 seconds that's all as the room temperature was warm enough, I follow the instructions to the brief, with my ankle poised up on the back of the chair and a mirror positioned so I can see what I'm doing, this is a awkward position but effective. I drag the wax down my trimmed hair growth, it's very sticky to apply, not what I'm used to, I even find it a bit hard to smear at first, but I get it sorted and that's because my skin has to be damp not wet but ever so slightly damp, I then stick the cloth to the wax and give the cloth a wee rub to make sure it's pushed onto my hairs I tap the cloth a couple of times as I know the pain I'm going to get I grit my teeth (important to do this) and hold my breath and grab the corner of material and pull my skin tight with my other hand and rip the cloth up and off, Yussss off they come out by the roots, pain wise not to bad not bad at all, so I have another crack at it. I can also quickly stick the cloth back on with the wax side on my skin and get a couple of other stray hairs. Meaning to just do a tidy up I end up doing a little more than I had planned as it was one of the easiest waxings I've done. I chuck the cloth and the spatula in hot water and they cleaned up nicely the wax just dissolved away. So no hair holes with wee dots off blood or red goose bump skin and no broken off hairs just smooth skin, I just wipe my skin with lukewarm water no ice needed then slip into my clothes and perfect, no irritation my skin is silky smooth and you wouldn't know half an hour beforehand I was well let's say wild and wooly, the next day still smooth and soft not irritation just perfect. With this wax it seriously just sticks to the hairs and not the skin, no mess with using talcum powder to stop the wax from sticking to my skin either. This is the best wax I have ever used and not as painful as the waxing I get done professionally. I will make this my number one wax now.

Aio Waxing Body Sugar Review
Sugaring does not remove live skin Unlike waxing, sugaring does not hurt the skin. Aio's waxing body sugar will only stick to the hair and not to the skin, preserving its integrity. This means that you don't have to put up with sore and red skin after waxing anymore.
Sweet but not Sticky Sugar wax is made from natural ingredients which can be cleaned easily with water. Sugar wax is not messy unlike other waxing products!
Not hot Sugar wax only needs to be heated for 10-15 sec in a microwave to lukewarm.
Less painful Unlike waxing, sugar wax is peeled off in the same direction hair grows making it less stressful to skin and body, much less painful!
Natural as (no artificial preservatives) Sugar wax does not contain harmful petroleum by-products which can cause allergic reactions, especially in those with sensitive skin.
Long lasting Effect lasts up to 8 weeks and if used regularly will result in hair reduction in the areas applied eliminating the need for harsh hair removal procedures.
Perfect for all body areas
Reviews
Tips: When pulling the cloth off nearly have it like its folding back on to its self, not outwards, trim hair as well. Be brave ladies this is a goodin
Honestly I fell in love with this product as soon as I opened the delivery parcel. The packaging is very simple as it was in a cardboard box but the product itself was in a frosted glass jar with a black plastic lid.
The Waxing Body Sugar had a very good consistency but I decided to microwave my wax for about 5 to 10 seconds as it was too thick for me.
It did what it had said as the process was not painful. I could feel very little pain and sometimes not at all unlike normal waxing when I would be screaming my head off but I found that is product was more effective as it gave me smoother skin.
The Aio Waxing Body Sugar is a New Zealand made product and only has surcrose, aqua and citrus extract in its ingredients.
I tested the product in many different areas such as my upper lip, arms, legs, armpits and down below (if you know what I mean) and the results were amazing.
The box contained the 340g sugar wax, 20 wax strips, 2 wooden waxing spatulas and also an instruction leaflet that was very detailed on how to wax the different areas of the body.
Definitely re purchasing for summer
Tips: Make sure skin is dry and clean before applying sugar wax. Apply Waxing Body Sugar in the direction hair growth and rip against it. Never overheat sugar wax as it may burn.
Ah this stuff. It has taken me from despair to cheer (thanks goes to Magpiefi for giving some tips) anyway this was in the vault and I loved the sound of it. It promises a less painful waxing experience and ingredients that aren't full of nasties.
I used to wax back in my teenage years and I loved it. I have been waxing my eyebrows for years now and love the results.
So this arrived and I knew I had to start letting my hair grow so it would be long enough to wax. A few days later I was ready. I heated the wax for 10 seconds put a tiny bit of talcum powder on, applied a thin layer of wax to my arm pit, pressed the strip on, braced myself and ripped the strip off... No pain that was a start but I managed to get 3 hairs. I did this several times with the same result. Tried my legs same thing. I was going nuts reading the instructions over and over again and gave up destined to be like muffin Mclay like a bundle of hay.
But.. Magpiefi had her review up ahh as I read it.. Damp skin! So off I went again used the same method as above to get ready but this time I sat a hot face cloth on the area first then patted it dry a wee bit and ahhh of it all came. Still painless even though the hairs actually came off. It's like ripping a bandaid off its not painful at all. I think a big help with the pain is it's not ripping the skin. I have tried arm pits, legs and bikini all easy. I might sound like a freak but I can't wait til the hair grows back so I can do it again!! It's easy to clean up too everything just dissolves off and wipes away easily. Love this product definitely will re purchase.
The first thing that makes this product stand out from your average wax is its gorgeous packaging. It comes in a lovely frosted glass jar with a black plastic screw on lid, much nicer than the standard plastic pot I am used to. The Wax itself has a nice "good enough to eat" toffee scent and a sticky thick consistency.
I found microwaving the wax for about 10 seconds worked best and then applied it to the skin using the applicator provided. I found it a bit harder (than my standard wax which you heat for a bit longer) to spread but it still effectively removed the hair as it said it would.
I love that this is an all natural NZ product, which performs just as well as other alternatives. I used this on legs, arms and bikini line with great results. I didn't find this wax any less painful as it claims, but, am happy with the results so would happily repurchase :)
Tips: Don't overheat as the wax is not effective if heated past the recommended time.
I'm quite new to waxing. I tried many years ago with some strips my sister got, it put us both off for years. Then recently there was a discounted product at Farmers...well there was a reason that was discounted. OUCH! But this sugar product...well it may have just changed my mind.
When I first saw the packaging it looked like it was a jar filled with golden syrup. When I opened it up, the product was rock hard though, not like syrup (although it has a nice sweet scent) This was just because it was cold. 10 seconds in the microwave made it a syrup that was easy to smooth across my skin.
I decided being a waxing rookie I would start with my legs. It was so easy! It definitely wasn't painless - but it wasn't as painful as the other methods of waxing I have tried. I felt confident doing both my legs and managed to get most of the hair, there seemed to be the odd bit that was a bit stubborn.
I really like how it is so much easier to remove than wax too, that stuff sticks to EVERYTHING. This sugar formula was easy to remove with a cloth and warm water.
It has been two weeks since I did it and the hair hasn't come back yet, this is awesome. My hair grows so fast :( Can't wait to keep using this...and maybe be brave enough to try it in other spots ;)
I got so excited when I pulled the first strip off - it was completely painless! It's easy to apply, smells wonderful, and doesn't hurt. This is my first time waxing at home, I usually go to a professional, so I would recommend this if you are in the same position as I was. However, I did find I had to go over sections as all the hair was not being pulled out. I'm not sure whether this is through inexperience, or that it was the wax? It's also very sticky, so watch out for that. I had to microwave it a couple of times to get it to the sticky consistency by the way.
Tips: I found the bigger sections I did the more it started to hurt, so if you don't have a great tolerance for pain, do smaller sections :)
I have been lusting over this since I saw the trial team. I didn't get on the trial, but I did pick it up in the vault and I'm so glad I did. I was skeptical - could sugar wax be the answer to my problems? A day after my vault goodies arrived, I cracked into it. The brown box is simple with all the info, and inside was a gorgeous frosted glass jar with the delicious amber wax within. I removed the lid and was hit in the face with the scent of toffee apples! Oh god, I think I drooled a little. I set about getting some stuff prepared to start waxing my lady area, like a bowl of hot water for the wax, a cloth and some scissors to cut up the strips.
Fail. The wax adheres well to the hairs, but it does not pull them out nicely. After 2 hours of failing I gave up trying my lady area - the pain wasn't worth it. I was swollen, sticky and sore, and really not enjoying my experience. I had used minimal wax, as I've never used sugar wax before, so I was quite disappointed. The hair has since grown back and I have had so many ingrown hairs - I don't think I'll use this down there any more!!
However. I plucked up the courage to try my legs, and oh my god. It was like the easiest thing in the world. Slather, rip, wipe with damp flannel, repeat. I couldn't believe how well it was working on my legs, and how painless it was, and they had less than 1cm of hair on them. I sat in a state of euphoria as I pulled all of my leg hairs out - 3 WEEKS later, the hairs have barely grown back, it's a little sprinkling of stubble and that's it.
I have also given my armpits a try and I just can't get the wax to work - I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This would have been perfect as my razor has been irritating my armpits to the point where I scratch them raw.
The wax claims you can pull it with the hairs, I've found that no, you cannot do this. So other than that, and the pain from the lady area and the fact I can't use it on my armpits, I'm happy. I'll gladly continue to use this on my legs and be dolphin smooth, baby.
Tips: Does NOT taste like toffee apples. You've been warned. The strips are also reusable! Just a wash in warm water, leave them somewhere nice to dry and viola!! Thanks MalloMiss :-) Do not heat over the 15 second suggestion, it will get burny hot and you will burn yourself.
As a home waxing novice I enjoyed having A play with this yummy looking and smelling body sugar. With a very similar consistency to honey (my son actually asked why I was put in honey on my face) I was a little bit nervous and rightly so. It was a bit too sticky for my liking, which made it quite hard to apply even though I heated it for twice as long as recommended because the suggested time did nothing to make it "slightly runny" as the instructions said. The was also not helped by the fact that the paddles provided are simply popsicle sticks, so when applying this sticky substance to my eyebrows I needed a special kinda talent. Next time I am going to find something thinner and maybe slightly pointed to apply it.
However, overall I am happy with the pain free result and the fact that this is a new Zealand made product is completely natural! I am sure with better tools and more practice this will become a favorite product.
This smells soooooo good! It's like desert for your skin! It's sugar so smells like.. well. . Sugar! It comes in a glass jar with a smart black lid and an inner lid to stop stickiness getting onto the outer lid (very smart). Also included is 2 wooden spatulas, 1 popsicle stick size (actually it is a popsicle stick) and one bigger. I love that they've considered Smaller and larger applications with this. There's also fabric strips - quite a few too! And of course instructions! I found it a wee bit thick when I opened it so as per the instructions gave it a quick Wizz in the microwave to get it to "honey consistency" - gave it a good stir and did a test on my forearm. I love the consistency of this wax! It's smooth and glides onto the skin nicely! The strips are the right amount of grippy so are easy to use. I found this test patch great! It was virtually painless! After my test patch I had a go at my chin - I have really gross thick dark hairs that I battle on my chin and I'm sick of plucking so I'd let them grow a wee bit to have a Crack at this amazing sounding wax.... aaaand. .. pooh! No good! I think the hair needs to be quite long for this Sugar Wax to be most effective. I finished up my forearms after this and got the same result. It removed all the ones that were long but left behind anything less that possibly 7mm.... I found a little goes a long way with this, so it's fantastic that it'll last a while. I really love how painless this is, so much so that I'm going to let my leg hair grow and have a go at those - which is huge for me after a very painful attempt a few years ago, I swore I would never wax my legs again..... Clean up was a breeze! Even cold water removes excess! And ( possibly my favourite thing about this product) the strip also wash up perfectly! They look like they should be disposable but they're not! Woohoo!
UPDATE: Had a go at my legs! It was still painful but not unbearable.. I still found it left quite a few hairs behind but I just went over them with a razor and have found regrowth is still longer than just shaving. So I will keep waxing!
Tips: Absolutely make sure the skin is clean & dry before using. I find a way bit of talc really helps to make waxing more effective. Hand wash the strips in warm water, I doubt they would survive a machine.
If you intend on doing some home hair removal, I would highly recommend you save yourself a whole lot of pain and try out this product :) I personally love the packaging of this product, it comes in a thick frosted glass jar with a resealable lid, which makes it ideal for storage. The product itself comes quite solid, and in a deep caramel colour. It says to microwave for 5-10 seconds if needed but if you have a weak microwave like myself I suggest you microwave it for a tad longer because it is quite solid and hard to work with otherwise. The product, being all natural has no weird scents, only that of sweet sugar. Yummmy.... and is extremely easy to clean up! So if you make a mistake or get this body sugar all over the place it washes off with ease. I used this product on my forearms because I'm a bit of a Sasquatch, and absolutely loved the results. The pain was minimal and there was only a slight amount of redness afterwards. There was no irritation and there were no bumps. The end result: some seriously smooth skin. I definitely recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin, or people prone to skin irritation looking for a safe home hair removal product.
Tips: Apply this product very thinly as it is quite thick.
