I received a miniature of this lipstick as part of a Clarins GWP. I’ve used quite a lot of Clarins skincare, but this is one of the few makeup products of theirs I have tried. I have the colour woodrose, which is number 13. The packaging on these is gorgeous – reflective gold that looks really luxurious. My mini lipstick is a smaller version of the big tube, but without the gold lining inside the cap. The gold bits do show up fingerprints but this is easily fixed with a makeup wipe. The cap has a little dent for your finger partway down which I think is a nice touch that is a bit different too. ‘Clarins’ is written on the tube itself and the lid clicks securely and satisfyingly back on – no risk of losing the cap in your handbag here!
This is supposedly an age-defying lipstick but I can’t comment on that – it would suit more mature, drier lips though as it is moisturising.
The lipsticks have an obvious sweet scent but it’s not noticeable once applied. Woodrose is a gorgeous pinky brown colour, and the formula is creamy but not thick. They feel nice and smooth once applied, and they last reasonably well once on. They are not super pigmented, but the formula makes it one of the best lipsticks I have tried as its so moisturising. There is a decent colour range too – I may pick another one up in the future.
Had colour #17 (Pink Magnolia) years ago and it's the most comfortable lipstick I've tried so far. Normally can't do even satin-finish lipsticks because my lips are so prone to drying out, but this one didn't. Really nice pink-ish natural colour, didn't fade out weirdly.
