First of all, if you came looking here for the perfect summer scent, you've come to the right place - because this fragrance is the epitome of summer in my opinion.
The packaging is gorgeous! A plain pink bottle with a RC monogrammed cap and a little zebra printed ring around it. I love packaging and this suits my room perfectly! The fragrance is EDT and 75ml.
The smell, because of the EDT aspect, isn't as long lasting as some of my other perfumes, but it does keep up well throughout the day. After about three or four hours it settles to a subtle, very pleasant smelling woody, with a hint of rose, scent.
At first though, it's a refreshing blast of summer, it smells like the air after the rain, but you can also smell fruit and flowers. It's definitely not a scent to wear to a formal dinner or a rock concert or in the winter, it's a scent to accompany you to the beach, or shopping, or a light lunch with bubbly and your mates!
It's not overly fruity, thanks to the (sandalwood?) base. It's definitely not sweet either, just fresh and fruity. Anyone who loves summer will love this! Imagine all of The Body Shop's fragrances combined, then you'll get an idea of this one's smell...
I would highly recommend it for young and old alike, as it's a very versatile fragrance and it's not limited to any single age group. I can imagine my nana wearing this too!
I received this as a Xmas gift and was instantly taken with the packaging. Roberto Cavalli 'Exotica' comes in a hot pink and zebra striped box, with the logo stamped and embossed in gold. The interior is also hot pink, and the bottle itself it again hot pink with a zebra striped strip at the top, and an ornate gold cap.
All in all, it's a heavy little package that looks and feels decadent before you even spray it.
The perfume itself is a little heavier than my daily fave, and so is my 'going out' perfume, but I adore it. It's a sexy, exotic, trademark kinda scent. There is a definite sweetness on initial application which fades to a gorgeous, tropically floral scent. The product description mentions 'wood', which I believe is what anchors the scent and stops it from being overly sweet and 'little girl'.
Being heavier, you can get away with using less, and it hangs around for hours, negating the need for reapplication - and making it perfect for a night out!
Roberto Cavalli Exotica: making me feel just that little bit sexier since Xmas 2014 ;)
