I am a huge fan of maybelline so when my covergirl foundation ran out I chose to go with this instead of replace my covergirl one which is quite similar. I liked them both but I liked a few aspects of the maybelline one a little better. But both are a great price so I would probably happily switch between the 2.. especially if my skin is temperamental and can't decide if it will be oily or dry.
As said they are similar - in look, cover, longevity and colour.. but I prefer this formulation over the covergirl one. It applies better and is a nicer formula over all. So it really came down to consistency.
The staying powers are similar but this one I feel is a smoother less cloggy formula and so I prefer it over the last one I used. It doesn't leave me oily or greasy or streaky. It really is a nicer foundation to use for quick application and coverage and perfect for my skin right now.
Definitely a new fave and from my fave brand also.
If you're after a foundation that will last the whole day, without feeling cakey then definitely give this a try. It was easy to blend out with a sponge and all of my other makeup steps applied really well on top. It is a Matte formula, so if you have super dry skin this may not be the best option for you. My skin is normal/oily through my tzone and it lasted from morning to night with no touch ups required. I did wear a mask for a little bit and had barley any transfer which is a big bonus. It was easy to build up to full coverage with 2 layers but still feels very comfortable to wear.
Tips: Personally I found this applied better with a damp sponge rather than a brush. It did look a little dry at first espically with powder over top but after a hour it had settled in with my skin and looked flawless.
