Lush Eau Roma Toner Water Herbal toner for dry, older or sensitive skin. Rose water has been used in face treatments for over 2,000 years, not because ‘liposomes’ and the rest hadn’t been discovered yet, but because it’s brilliant for softening and cooling the skin. Lavender helps skin to produce the right amount of sebum to keep it supple. Wealthy ladies of leisure in Ancient Rome would take something similar to the public baths. It smells gorgeous, it works and now it's available to those of us who work for a living, too.

Cool and so Refreshing

I have a sensitivity to Tea tree oil which causes me to have worse skin than before using it... even in the mildest of dilutions can cause my skin to erupt. So when I had a consultation at my local Lush store and was recommended a toner I had to quickly say No to it as I saw Tea tree in the name... this was swiftly taken away and Eau Roma was recommended... Oh my word! I am so glad too. It is freshly scented of rosemary (I think) and lavender, in a light rose water base. The spray bottle is really functional and less wasteful than wetting cotton pads directly.

So after getting very detailed instructions for use and a generous sample I made my way home and cleansed my face with the other products advised for my skin. Fully cleansed and rinsed free I allowed my skin to dry and applied this wonderful toner... it was like the fresh ocean spray caressing my skin, but even more soothing and cooling. I imagine using this a lot in summer (especially as a refreshing spritz) and have already purchased it along with some other Lush treats.

While I don't think it did much in the way of actual toning or pore closing etc, It certainly didn't cause any problems for my skin either, It was very light and refreshing and also very hydrating.

Tips: Have a consultation if you can and try a sample out

Lovely floral water

The beauty world is divided into those who tone and those who don't. Many beauty experts believe it doesn't actually do much. So essentially it is one of those products that of you like using it, use it. If you don't, don't worry about it.

I do like using toner and have done so for years. I like it as it makes me feel like I have removed any traces of cleanser that may be left behind and it feels refreshing. I avoid anything with alcohol in and like flower based toners. This one contains lavender and rose water (my absolute favourite). I used Lush's Tea Tree Water for years when I was struggling with acne. I went on to this one when my skin became sensitive due to some heavy duty acne treatments. This is very gentle on the skin and helps to take the heat out irritated skin.

You can spray it onto cotton pads but as I dislike using these, I spray it on, then blot lightly, before applying moisturiser to seal in the hydrating goodness. The spray bottle makes this a refreshing spray for a hot day, for face or body. This one is going straight into the fridge! The spray isn't that fine so spray from a distance. It smells divine - just lovely and natural with no hint of nasties.

I would buy this again but at the moment I am using a very affordable pure rose water which I get from iherb. I will probably use the Lush one again when I am I between iherb orders.

Tips: The small size bottle is great for travelling and keeping you hydrated on the plane.

The Perfect Toner for Sensitive Skin

I've been waiting for this to pop up for review! I've been using on and off for years, and its a toner I always come back to. I have very sensitive skin which is prone to break outs, so I have to be careful with what I use. As I wear heavy makeup I like to use a toner after cleansing and this is perfect. It helps remove any leftover makeup I have left on my skin as well as soothing and hydrating. Sometimes when I'm feeling lazy I'll saturate a cotton pad with this and use it to remove my makeup without cleansing first. I love that its just lavender and rose water (the more natural the better!). Theres three sizes to choose from- I'm currently using the middle one and I think it should last me to the end of the year with daily use as you don't need to use heaps. Its also super affordable, and comes in a handy spray bottle. This is so soothing and doesn't dry out the skin. A staple in my beauty cupboard. Give it a try if you haven't already!

Tips: I spray 2 squirts onto a cotton pad for toning my skin after cleansing, as its so gentle I also use this over the eye area with no problems. Its also great for soothing irritated and sunburnt skin- simply spray directly onto skin for instant relief!

Average

I am normally a huge fan of LUSH products! This may be why I was so disappointing with this product, I find it to be quiet an average product compared to some of there other things on offer... I wouldn't buy it again but if i was gifted it i would use it.. Its more of a surplus to requirement product where if you have it awesome but you are fine without it.

What i think of lush toner as a teen

i bought the big bottle which is supringsingly big. I always use it after i take off my faily makeups. i spry it onto cotton pads and wape out any remanining dirt or makeup. i didnt like this toner that much when i first bought it. i thought its too plain and not much usage to my pimples. Later on i found out that this toner is extremely refreshing and feels like heaven in the summer! you need to push really hard on the top to spry it out and a little bit scary for me to do that. It doesnt last long when you are out but its a good choice for nights, to remain your skin fresh and hydrated.

Tips: the big one is really big, not good for tavelling
