I started my review on the Shampoo side, so this is part 2 of my Sunsilk brilliant shine duo.
Basically I have used up all my Lush hair products and couldn't afford to replace those for a few weeks so I purchased the Sunsilk Brilliant shine Shampoo and Conditioner.
After I have given my hair a thorough wash with the Shampoo I follow in with the conditioner.
I squeeze all the excess water out of my hair, especially at the ends of my hair and then I squeeze a generous amount of conditioner into my hands and work the product only into the ends of my hair. Once I have done that I add more conditioner only to mid length and I clip it up and wait for a few minutes.
In that time I normally exfoliate my face or use a face scrub to make my face nice and fresh too.
I noticed that when I wash the conditioner out of my hair, the shower floor would be extra slippery so please be careful when your rinsing your hair with this conditioner. Just by rinsing out my hair I can already feel a difference in my hair, it feels conditioned and so smooth.
I have been letting my hair dry without heat tools just to give my hair a break. I used to apply serum or oils to the ends of my hair after I have washed it but after using this conditioner there is no need to that day.
It gives my hair a great amount of shine and in the days after washing my hair I only have to apply serum to the ends of my hair and not up to mid length. My hair does get oilier than it used to be, only slightly.
I have already repurchased the Shampoo and conditioner, this is an affordable and fantastic duo for my hair and my budget.
I picked up a bottle of this conditioner when the one I was using was leaving my hair nourished, but dull. Since then, the Sunsilk Addictive Brilliant Shine Conditioner has started to become a must-have product for me. I do supplement it with hair masks and oils but then again I'm rough on my hair, with dyes, heat treatments and daily washes, and so extra TLC will always be necessary.
This conditioner comes packaged in the typical Sunsilk modern concepts design, in a dark raspberry pink colour.
The conditioner itself is white, creamy and mid consistency. In a perfect world, I'd rather it were thicker, but it's cheap enough that you can use a decent handful and work it through.
The conditioner has a pleasant scent - sweet with a touch of something that smells berry-like to me. It doesn't overpower my shower gels etc but seems to tie in nicely with the scents I prefer.
My hair - even when I only use this after my conditioner (I use Sorbet Damage Control) is left soft and silky, after which it cooperates well with my heat stylers. This is a lightweight conditioner, but my hair (which is fine and can be flyaway when over conditioned) responds really well to it. This keeps the colour damage in check, and results in my hair looking and feeling really nice. It's FAR superior to many more expensive salon etc conditioners I have tried, and it's super cheap.
I haven't tried it in conjunction with the shampoo as I'm happy with my shampoo at the moment, but I would definitely consider using the set based on the great reaction my hair has to the conditioner.
Oh - and do I get the addictive, brilliant shine claimed by the title? Yep! I'm happy, anyway.
Tips: Try it! Dirt cheap, and works for me.... why not give it a go?
