This is one of my first ever setting sprays I used as it falls into my budget of drugstore makeup. I found it to definitely set my makeup but found it to be quite mattifying. I make sure to spray it quite far away from my face to get an even coverage without any blobs. I dont recall any kind of fragrance, which is nice if your skin get irritated by those kinds of things.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Fixing Mist Review
Our first ever make up setting spray sets and extends your just-applied make up look for up to 24 hours. A micro-fine mist for a weightless feel and invisible finish.
Once you've applied your make up, use the Fixing Mist to set your look. 1. Shake the mist well, and close both eyes and mouth. 2. Hold 20-25cm away and spray 2 to 4 times in an X & T motion.

Tips: Make sure you shake this setting spray otherwise you will get white spots all over your face.
I have a couple of other setting sprays, but this was the first one I ever tried one the existence of such a product came to my attention.
Firstly, I really appreciate that I get an even mist across my face when spraying this. There is nothing worse than random squirts of liquid that leave drops across your prepped makeup!
It definitely helps my makeup last all day, and doesn't feel like I have added a heavy extra step to my routine.
One word of caution - and the reason I might not repurchase - is that you really really REALLY need to give it a good shake before use. There is white residue in the formula which you need to mix well into the liquid before spritzing yourself. I have sadly had a day where I quickly sprayed my face before racing out the door, only to see tiny flecks of white residue pop appear on my face once it had settled into my skin.
I am in two minds about the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Fixing Mist.
On one hand I like it. It is definitely the nicest smelling fixing mist I have used. It also helps extend my make up look as promised. And the bottle is a reasonable size.
On the other hand, it's lovely smell adds a bunch of chemicals that the alternative I use doesn't have. And both otherwise perform fairly similarly.
So ultimately, this one will be the best if you like a bottle with plenty of product and a lovely smell.
In terms of using the product. I find a couple of sprays about 30 cm away from my face does give the make up a real boost. If I've set my make up with a setting powder, then added this, I find after a night out dancing, apart from a sweaty glow, my make up looks nearly as good at the end of the night as it did at the beginning.
I think the packaging is a little plain, but it's functional and as long as the spray bottle works, that is the most important thing.
This is my first ever setting spray and I really like it! Granted I don’t have much to compare it to, but it works well, sets my makeup and I haven’t had any problems with it :)
Tips: Shake well every time! There’s a weird powder in it that needs to be mixed in every time you use it.
