Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera

I found this review so hard to write I’ve rewritten it a few times before posting. I’m honestly haven’t noticed anything since using this - nothing great, nothing terrible……

I love the packaging - the bottle looks like a little gin bottle! The scent is beautiful and the toner is really nice and refreshing on the skin. It does leave my skin feeling soft and nourished and applying this before my serums really helps with getting a great coverage with my skin not being so dry.

In terms of noticing any actual improvement in my skin because of using this toner - I can’t say I’ve seen any, but it is early days so I’ll keep using it and update once I’ve used the bottle.

For a long time I had avoided using toners, I used to use toners when I was younger. But the toners that I used back then were drying and harsh on the skin. This toner by Thayer’s doesn’t have alcohol in it and is not drying at all. I found it to actually help rehydrate my skin! But it still does what you want a toner to do, as it clarifies and removes any leftover makeup and impurities. Even after double cleansing there would still be a bit of makeup that this toner would remove. This has been a great addition to my skincare routine and has been doing wonders for my skin. I’ve even noticed that I’ve had no breakouts at all since using it!

I was excited to trial the Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol-Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera and when it arrived I almost squealed with delight over how it looked. I don't know why I loved the packaging so much but it really appealed to me, all my kids checked it out too so it's pleasing to a range of ages. I loved the scent of this product, it was a light and fresh floral. The rose scent was there but I think the witch hazel also came through, very pleasantly scented. I found this toner to be excellent at removing makeup and it cleaned my face really well. I used little cotton pads and was shocked to see some of the dirt that came off my face. My skin was left soft and smooth but hydrated. This product contains no alcohol and I think that was evident in the lack of drying my face had. There was no tightness, just fresh, clean and hydrated. I feel like it probably does all of says it will but a lot of the things (blemishes, large pores, blackheads etc) don't apply to me. I do however have some uneven skin tone and that seemed improved. My age/dark skin spots were not improved in any drastic measure but I'm happy to keep trying it to see if it happens over a longer time. My sensitive skin didn't react at all so that's another bonus. I definitely enjoyed this trial. I enjoyed the product and would happily continue using and purchase in the future.

I'm not a huge rose fan but this toner was only a soft subtle fragrance which you can't smell once applied to the skin.

Bottle is a good size and I like the nozzle is small so you can easily control how much comes out. Only reservation is the lid didn't click closed well so I'd be reluctant to take this travelling.

Did a good job cleaning my skin and skin was soft while using. Didn't encounter any dry skin spots and didn't have any breakouts (have had this happen with other toners).

This has a lovely rose perfume that I absolutely love. After cleansing my skin of make-up, I dampen a cotton wool ball and douse with the toner. This removes any last traces of make-up and because it doesn't contain alcohol, it doesn't dry out my skin making it feel stripped like some toners containing alcohol do. I love that it is cruelty-free and doesn't contain parabens or propylene glycol. My skin does feel more radiant after use and I feel my pores are smaller. This is a cheap great value for money toner as it is around $15.99 for a 375ml bottle which should last a long time.

For years I have avoided using toners as my early experience with them left my skin feeling dry and uncomfortable. This is the first toner I have ever used that has left my skin feeling soft, clean and moisturised. The light scent is delicious and the bottle size is generous, I think it will last me a long while!

This was a very timely trial for me as I was almost out of my toner and I was really at a loss as to what to try next as I just haven't been happy with what I have used lately. To start with, this toner is alcohol free, paraben free, phthalate free and gluten free. The bottle can be recycled as well. Winning! I cleansed my face as usual then poured some of this toner onto a cotton wool ball. The first thing that struck me was the scent. It is so rosey smelling. I understand that it may be a bit much for some people, but I didn't mind it. My skin felt refreshed and very clean. I put some of this into a small spray bottle and carried it with me and I spritzed during the day to freshen up, this was amazing. After using this for a couple of weeks I think this is one of the best toners I have used.

How good is this product!! Not only is it alcohol free, it also contains rose petals, Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera. All these ingredients have various benefits for the skin and its awesome having so many goodies in one bottle. I use this product morning and night. After cleaning my face with a cleanser at night, I pour a little toner on a cotton pad and wipe my face with it. It helps remove all make up leaving my skin looking fresh and clean. In the morning I clean my face with this toner again, and despite a good cleaning regime at night, there is still some dirt on the cotton. I feel it’s helped in reducing acne, acne scars & blemishes leaving my skin with a healthy, natural glow. The quality of my skin tone has improved and my skin feels much softer. I don’t know if I am imagining it but it seems as if the fine lines on my forehead have reduced. Best of all I love the lovely fragrance of the rose petals.

Really love this toner. The bottle itself is simple but quite lovely. 355mls is a lot of toner - so it will last a long time. Use itself - love it - it's hydrating and not harsh. My skin has felt great lately and think the rose petal toner has nourished my skin rather than stripping it of much needed natural oils. The scent is really light - so not an over powering old fashioned Rose Petal toner from the 90's. It feels refreshing but hydrating applying the toner - I used it morning and night and felt my skin was a little more dewy. It mentioned you could use it through the day, so I put it in an old spritz bottle from another product and used it as a skin freshner through my working day - and gave my skin an 'awake' look and made my makeup look dewy and fresh. I can't find a fault in this toner, and for the price and the volume of product - it's a win every which way. Highly recomment Thayers Rose Petal Toner, particularly if you're in my age group and looking for products that preserve or enhance hydration and glowy skin!
