Maybelline Hyper Easy Liquid Eyeliner Reviews

So, this is only the second time I have tried liquid eyeliner so I'm a bit of a novice.

The first time I just couldn't get the line straight, I ended up with it all over my fingers, it was messy and frustrating.

However, this Maybelline eyeliner is much easier to use. As its name suggests, it does glide on super easily and the tip is flexible which makes it easier to glide! I still need a bit of work on getting the line straight and of course trying not to blink in the process, but all in all I did find this eyeliner much better.

The colour is very black, which I don't think suits me as much as a blue or brown would, so I would love it if they bring it out in other colours. I preferred it when I slightly smudged the line to give a more smokey effect rather than the straight clean black line.

So a call out to Maybelline....please make this available in other colours apart from black! If you do, I will totally be buying more!

First things first, I'm not the most advanced liquid liner user - I've mostly stuck with pencil and gel liners and have only recently been trying to learn how to use liquid liners adequately. Needless to say, I was stoked when this Maybelline Hyper Easy Liquid Liner popped up to be reviewed; promising an easy and stable application.

To be honest, the first day I tried to use it was a mess (I'm not sure if it was just because it was brand new). I swatched a bit on my hand and the pigment and line looked great, went to try it on my eyelids and became a dripping raccoon eye. After swiping it off with some makeup remover, it was very easy to take off which was a plus, I gave up for the day and used a pencil. The following day, I gave it another go and the application was great and easy and the following days have all been progressively easier.

The hexagonal design of the pen does make it incredibly easy to hold in place, so you don't have to worry about it slipping and ruining your line and it's a nice thin line that you can easily widen as preferred. The pigment is very black and dark and dries quickly so you don't have to wait unlike some liquid liners I've tried which can be quite watery. The liner also stays on really well throughout the day - I work an outdoors, physical job, and don't feel the need to reapply. The design of the pen is nice and slim as well, making it easy to carry around and won't take up too much space in a makeup bag or drawer. Overall, it's a great Maybelline product and perfect to use for beginners to advanced!

Unfortunately this didnt go so well for me, I'll start with the positive, the packaging was nice and I liked how it was a hexagon as a point of difference. The first day I used it it was ok a bit light for a black liquid eyeliner the application was not bad, and not smudgy and reasonably easy application. However by the second day it had completely dried out and no eyeliner was coming out, like a dried up felt. The lid had been on and it was put away properly but it was like it was empty, the one day that I could use it for it stayed on well and I did go back for another potential use, so if it hadnt dried out I would've done more testing of its stay on abilities!

This eyeliner is one of the better ones I’ve tried. The hexagonal shape really does help with the application, it feels more steady rather than having a cylindrical tube roll around between your fingers. The liner lasts for a long time and doesn’t budge, although in saying that, you need to have the confidence to quickly draw your liner as it dries super quick! The tip of the liner is well designed as it gives you a super fine tip to create a super clean cat eye and it applies just the right amount of product. For those who regularly wear a cat eye or use a liquid eyeliner, this could be your next staple in your makeup bag!

As the title says, I really wanted to love this! I had high hopes that it would become my new holy grail liquid eyeliner .... mic drop. But unfortunately not. While the packaging is nice in the sense the hexagonal shape allows for a comfortable hold, the liquid tip just didnt do it for me.

The product felt very runny and messy, and I found it difficult to get a good line. The tip is very flexible so perhaps this allowed too much movement, and I just prefer a firmer tip. I also felt the small lines I was doing were not joining up easily but looking staggered instead, no matter how hard I tried.

I prefer my maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner over this any day.

I absolutely loved wearing this eyeliner! It definitely lived up to my expectations of what a great eyeliner does. The tip is long yet sturdy enough to easily apply either a super thin line or build up to your desired finish. I trialled a variety of styles on different days and they all looked amazing at the end of the day, I have hooded lids and the only place I had creasing was in the fold where my wing went through (I would usually get transfer and smudging with my wing so I was happy with a bit of a crease). This has worn much better than many other liners and there was no smudging, flaking or transfer. It is super black and applied easily over my eyeshadow with full cover and no touch ups needed. The shape of the pen is hexagonal and this made it easy to grip with no slip. I love it so much I will definitely be repurchasing when empty!

This product has it all! The Design is a beautiful hexagon (6 sides) shape, easy to hold and eye-catching.

It's really hard to find a real Pitch Black colour and this product is 100% Pitch Black! It glides over the skin with ease, it doesn't skip and is not patchy, the tip is very flexible, you have enough time to work with it and fix mistakes. You can easily make it a thin line or a thick line by increasing or decreasing the pressure that you use. If you need more liner just shake the pen; inside is a ball that moves the product to the tip.

I tested this a few different ways: - First test I applied the liner over eyeshadow vs no eyeshadow. On both eyes the liner went on smooth, didn't skip, didn't get patchy and stayed Pitch Black. It didn't sting when it got into my eye.

-Second test is the sweat test; while being applied over eyeshadow and on a no shadow lid; I worked out, did labour around my property and the eyeliner didn't budge (it doesn't claim to) but I tested it anyway.

-Third test was it easy to smudge? Once dry it didn't move until I washed in off with warm water or makeup remover.

-Fourth Test was it easy to remove? It only came off completely if I used warm water and a makeup cloth or makeup remover.

I was pretty dubious about whether this eyeliner would actually be easier to put on. I’ve tried lots of eyeliners and I’m just really bad at applying them! Well this one is hands down easier than any others I’ve tried. It doesn’t skip or wobble and is just so easy to use well. The wee black tube is sleek and shaped well to fit in your hand. My one complaint is that it’s very black. It would be great if it came in other colours, like a natural brown. Overall, I’d totally recommend this brand if you have trouble applying eyeliner pencil. You’ll never look back!

I've always adored the instant easy glamour look a good liquid eyeliner gives to the wearer, but I've never been one who found applying it all that easy. So I was excited, and a little apprehensive, to be chosen to trial this eyeliner and put those lack of skills to the test.

Immediately upon opening the box, it was obvious by the hexagonal shape to the pen that a lot of thought had gone into the design. The grip is superior to liquid liners of the past in that it is easy to hold and manipulate, making for a nice, steady hand. The brush tip has a lovely fine point to it, making it simple to apply a thin line close to the edges of the lashes. A slightly firmer application means a thicker line. Once or twice, I got too close to my lash line and poked myself in the eye instead, but it did have the unintended end result of finding out there was no sting or reaction to the formulation. Bonus!

The lid closes with a definite click and needs a firm hand. You will want to be sure you've closed it properly, otherwise, it'll ping off and be across the basin before you know it. But it has a nice, tight seal, keeping the pen moist and shapely for easy use.

The formulation is quick-drying and long-lasting, just as it promises, and I was very impressed with the line not coming off until it was removed with make-up remover tissues. Very happy with this.

This eyeliner is like a pen with a hexagonal shape for a good grip. The liquid is jet black and once dry stays put so long as you don't rub it then it can flake a bit. You can get right up to your lash line with minimal drag and get a tidy fine line. The flexi brush tip could be a bit bigger for a thicker line though you can add more for the look you want to achieve. I prefer a stiffer brush but that's my personal preference. If you make a mistake it's easy to touch up or correct.
