This formula glides on really well and makes it super easy to use! It’s not as pigmented as other lipliners I’ve used but after a couple of swipes it’s good.

This was the first Mellow product I used and absolutely loved it. I received it in a subscription beauty box and hadn't used lip liner very frequently but now I use this almost every day. It's so easy to apply and applies very smoothly. The pigment is great and it is very long lasting and makes my lips pop. I've used a couple of the shades and Ava is definitely one of my favourites.
I have received about 4 of these liners from different beauty subscription boxes and I have to say I’m not mad to have this many, such good quality and great colours too.
Glides on easily, no need to press it on hard, very creamy, but doesn’t smudge on me, lasts really long too, not the full day for me, but nothing ever has on my lips.
I always use them with a similar colour of lipstick and they help define my lips and it helps a lot as I have very thin lips. It really enhances my lips, look is much better than just with a lipstick on.
Price point is great and I’d repurchase them if these wouldn’t be made in China. A NZ brand, but only designed in NZ, still made cheaply in China, I find this deceiving from the brand and as much as I like using their products, I still wouldn’t go out of my way to repurchase them.
Tips: Don’t press too hard, these are very creamy in consistency.
Wow I haven't used a lip liner in years but this impressed me. It stayed on all day and helped define and extend my lip line making them look fuller. It would be a must for me when I'm using a complementary shade of lipstick at least a shade or two darker than the pencil as it will remain on all day and you don't want a full outline in the wrong colour.
Tips: Be careful as the stick is quite fragile and broke at the top the first time I used it. It sharpened well though after this.
I really love these gel lip pencils/liners and own a bunch of colours! I love the formula and how well they glide on. They are so pigmented as well so I barely have to even press down. I really love the feel of these on the lips too and will often use the liner over my entire lip with a little bit of lip balm underneath, it works great just like that for a simple look or is also great for using as a base underneath lippy. I find the staying power of these quite good and don't ever get any bleeding with them either.
I was a little disappointed with this pencil. Mine crumbled on use, and sharpening it was as disappointing, despite having a clean sharp sharpener. It was frustrating trying to get a pencil point but instead watching pencil crumble into the bin.
When I could apply it, it went on lovely and had a fantastic finish that lasted well but there was too much waste for me to want to repurchase this one.
I am a fan of Mellow's products, and I decided to buy one of these when I was looking for a new lip pencil. I wanted a red one, so I bought Mellow's in the shade Ruby.
Ruby is a bright red gel lip pencil. The shade is neither too warm nor too cool, and will match with most standard neutral red lipsticks. The liner comes as a pencil in black packaging with a black lid, and with the colour denoted by the tip. Mellow is written in gold on the side, and altogether you get 0.9 grams.
The pencil is easy to draw around the outline of the lips with a steady hand. It has a waxy, solid texture. It has great staying power too: it does not wash off easily after eating or drinking.
I have been using this to outline my lips, and then to fill them in as a base for my lipstick. It works really well as a liner and as a base. You could even wear this on its own without a lip colour over the top. This is pencil is also easy to sharpen with a standard pencil sharpener.
Yet another great product from Mellow which will go perfectly with their liquid and bullet lipsticks.
Tips: Use alone, or underneath a similar shade of lipstick.
I got this amazing pencil in the Top to Toe BBBE. I love lip pencils so I was happy to see it. I also like the Mellow brand so I had a lot of confidence this product would be good. AND it is!
The pencil is simple to use and the liner glides on easily. The colour is perfect for my skin tone - exactly what I've been looking for for years. The colour is 'rose' and perfectly complements my pale skin. I have been filling my lips with it as well as lining my lips with it, and I am very very happy with the result. It doesn't transfer to anything once it's on either - bonus. The other positive I've noticed is that it doesn't dry my lips, which lip liner used as a full lipstick usually does, in my experience.
This is a great value pencil and the best of it's kind that I've ever tried. Yes I highly recommend it.
Received in the Best Beauty Box and was excited to use as it was such a lovely colour. But the gel point snapped off as soon as I pressed it to my lips as it is so soft. It was impossible to sharpen as the gel is so soft and squishy while the plastic is so hard.Gel pencils should have a screw base to self sharpen.
Tips: Don't bother buying. A regular wooden lip pencil would be so much better. I will avoild gel pencils that are not self-sharpening in future
It’s cruelty free and very light in packaging. I had the shade Harper to match with a nude lipstick I had.
I found that it glided on very smoothly onto my lips, giving a perfect definition before applying the lipstick over it. The problem arises when it came to sharpening it. It was a total nightmare. The formula was too soft and delicate when it came to sharpening it and it would break off.
I never bought it again after that. I would prefer if it was retractable, so I didn’t have that issue and it wouldn’t have gone to waste. I highly wouldn’t recommend this.
Tips: Apply to lips after scrubbing off dead skin.
