Mellow Baked Eyeshadow in Jade review

Another BBBE score! I've never tried Mellow eyeshadows before and when I saw this I was pretty happy, especially upon opening it and seeing the colour. This is such a pretty green!

TBH, the packaging is very cheap looking but ultimately, I guess it's quite hard to make an individual eyeshadow really pretty and keep the price down at the same time.

I have slightly oily lids, and if you do too, I recommend a primer. It stays on my lids for around 6 hours before starting to disappear, so it's pretty long lasting, BUT I did find it faded out to a silver colour after about 3-4 hours. That was a real shame as I LOVE this colour on me. I'm yet to try it wet, perhaps that will make the colour last longer and stay true.

Blendability is very good and that's important to me. I own way to many eyeshadows that don't blend well, without adding another one to my collection. All in all, it's a thumbs up. $12.95 for a beautiful colour, that's NZ made and seems to be good quality.

This arrived in the BBBE and I normally love Green eye makeup but the shade didn't wow me at all. I liked the little black box and Dome compact, simple yet easy to hold and open etc.

The colour is kind of what I would call an army green, it has gold fleck through it and it builds up and blends nicely. I have hooded eyes and used this product dry. Jade didn't stay put on my eyelids for long and it folded into the creases within half an hour of application... the colour became so muted it looked silver (it was quite dark before hand) and had almost completely disappeared after less than two hours.

Having had Mellow eyeshadow before from a previous vault I knew what I was getting when I pulled this out of the recent NZ Brands Best Beauty Box Ever. It isn't used as much as I should as I do have a very similar shade in another branded palette that is more convenient to me.

Packaged in a simple circled acrylic container with a clear lid worded with Mellow. Slots happily into my cubical storage system with my other individual shadows so not over sized. Under the slightly domed lid the poured jade green pigmented shadow has been baked into a slight dome too and is easily picked up by brush or fingertip.

Upon the lids it blends easily and isn't overly powdered but not quite creamy either. Start off lightly to build up the colour is the best option as it is pretty heavy with the colour pay off and it is easier to add than it is to remove. Makes an awesome green smokey eye. Doesn't wear off quickly and smudges if touched.

I received this in our BRBB NZ brands and was so happy. I had heard a lot about Mellow products and now was my chance to try one.

It came in a simply gorgeous shade of jade (hence the name) and I had not long before being experimenting with this kind of colour.

The little kind of pod it came in was really cute with the name Mellow written on the clear plastic lid.

The colour is a wonderfully shimmery jade green with gold through it. Just looks amazing! I do like a bit of shimmer! I found it very easy to apply, but be careful to stay within the lines! It blends well with others and is great for evenings.

I found it wore ok, I have had others that lasted longer but this is small enough to fit into your make up purse so if you need to touch up, you can. I did use a brush to apply.

To purchase this is only $12.95, which for a New Zealand made, cruelty free product is amazing. There are other colours available so there is no need to stop at one!

This was a real plus in my Beauty Box purchase.I had previously bought the bronze but Love this colour even more. It comes in a little black box with the clear dome lid of the container showing though so colour easy to see.Mellow in black is written across this lid.The base of the container is black with the clear domed lid and a really good catch that makes a sharp click when you shut it. No applicator- however I find using my finger is fine as the product is easy to apply and easy to smudge across your eyelid. The colour has a really nice depth and lasts all day without creasing so you feel really good all day or and night. I like that it is free from parabens and no animal testing and at $13 you can afford more than one. This is one eye shadow I will continue to purchase.

I received this Mellow Baked Eyeshadow in the Best Beauty Box Ever NZ brands. I haven’t used any Mellow products before so I was keen to try it.

The product comes in a cute little black box with a clear lid, which keeps the product dry. In the package it looks green, but when applied it is silvery. It doesn’t really shimmer once it’s on the eye.

I was surprised how well it stayed on, it didn’t crease and lasted all day.

I probably wouldn’t buy this myself, as I find it hard to stray away from brown eye shadow and feel the silver isn’t quite right for my colouring. It’s a nice shadow for someone who does like the colour though. I have a niece with dark hair and skin and I’ll gift it to her as she suits this type of colour.

I would recommend it to others and at $12.95, I think it is a good product for the price.

this is a bit of a mixed review as I had a fair chunk of bad luck with this shadow. Firstly the positives - the colour is amazing. I wasnt expecting to like it, but it is lovely. Great value for money (if you can use it all) as there is a lot of shadow in the container. Smooth powder - nice to apply, easy to build up colour too.

sadly though, mine was broken on arrival. I fixed it with some pure chemist alcohol and got about 4 more uses out it before I dropped it again - shattered into the carpet (which luckily - for the carpet - is also green and soon to be replaced). I did not find the intense green lasted very well either.

If I was going to purchase again it would have to be a colour I would use a lot of, so I'm not sure.

I received this in the NZ Brands BB. The colour is beautiful, a lovely jade green colour, in a sort of metallic look. I was slightly nervous about experimenting as i'm a real bronze girl but i took the plunge! This shadow gives you an awesome smokey eye thats not really harsh, its slightly shimmery and looks great with eyeliner and false lashes. It is very well pigmented and i was surprised at how well it stayed on, its a good product. The product came in a round tub with a clear top so you can easily see the colour, and the snaps shut securely. The only thing i don't like is the price, $13 for one eye shadow isn't really in my budget, but ill look out for it on special :)

I love mellow baked eyeshadows. I already had the gold shade before I got this one in the BEBB so I knew I was going to love it. It is, as the name suggests, a gorgeous jade green shade. It has a lovely shimmer to it, so it beautiful as a pop of colour over a neutral eye base. You only need a small amount to get a big payoff. These are definitely good value for money, and so far I haven't seen a shade I don't love.
