Reminds me of a few perfumes an Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue series perhaps the after 5 one and like the cabotine de gres perfume too it's old school floral and classy also ling lasting I think older women would like it more it's not sweet I think it has sophistication to it and could become somebody's signature. Quite affordable a green perfume and I think would work for day but definitely night time too. I think it's quite a strong one aswell. Would be interesting to mix and layer with other scents.

Sarah Jessica Parker Covet
After launching two successful fragrances, the Sex and the City celebrity Sarah Jessica Parker has launched a new one. After Lovely, created in 2005, a fragrance that was supposed to express the light and tender side of her character, and Lovely Liquid Satin in 2006, she is now presenting the more aggressive and desirable Covet, a fragrance that captures impish and garrulous Sarah.
SJP's new fragrance was promoted on August 7, 2007 in NYC, at the Herald Square Macy's, under the slogan "I had to have it!" The perfume was created by Frank Vöelkl of Firmenich in collaboration with fragrance designer and consultant Ann Gottlieb. The bottle was designed by Chad Levigne.
Covet opens with intensive spicy-green-mint note of geranium leaves, bright and luminous Sicilian lemon, lavender, and warm and slightly spicy chocolate notes. The heart notes are honeysuckle, magnolia, and lily of the valley. The base is darker, composed of cashmere wood, musk, vetiver, teak wood and amber. It comes in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, and with matching body products.
Reviews
Surprisingly I really liked this fragrance. Fresh, strong and summery! Lasted for ages and on the lower spectrum of prices for perfume. A good day to day if you want a nice summery scent and not a huge cost
Ah this was one of my first perfumes I remember the beautiful bottle catching my eye in Farmers. And it was on a mega special, I had the 100ml bottle and it lasted me forever and ever! I remember being extra stoked as it came with a free gift at the counter when I went to pay for it.
This is a perfume for day and night, upon the first initial spray it opens with very sharp notes but settles into a beautiful sweet, citrus smelling scent. This perfume is very elegant and reminds me of spring time.
I'm a huge fan of sex and the city so was excited to see what SJP had to offer. Have to say the scent isn't what i'd call sexy...much more modest and floral....
First off, I have owned this but I have gifted it elsewhere as this is not the scent for me as it does not work on my chemistry - this is far too green and citrusy on me and unfortunately I get a fragrance that smells like Savlon antiseptic, but I will go into this further in this review shortly. I am a fan of her original fragrance Lovely also but that one unfortunately disappears too quickly on me as my skin seems to eat it up. Both of these scents appear to have similar spicy peppery notes which I enjoy. The bottle is gorgeous, a squatted rounded square shape with an unusual smokey topaz faceted cap - reminds me of a vintage bathroom tap for some reason. Unfortunately citrus, fresh cut greens and lavender are notes that do not meld well with my chemistry. That said it is still a wonderful fragrance if it works for you as it is quite unusual, spicy, green and sweet - if it works for you you will probably also pull a chocolate note. I know others that can pull this off and it smells wonderful on them. The scent is quite crisp and spicy and I can imagine fans of the original 'Oscar De la Renta' and those who enjoy fresh florals along the lines of Cabochard's Cabotine may enjoy this fragrance more than I did.
Tips: Very unique fragrance (fresh cut greens with spicy chocolate and lavender notes) note like anything I have smelled before! Try before you commit to the full size though!
50ml EDP, purchased myself, worn occasionally
Perfume is so much more than just the "juice" in the bottle. I also love learning about the story or inspiration behind different scents.
Several years back I came across an article about Sarah Jessica Parker's obsession with scent, how she'd been thinking about creating a perfume for years, and about her signature combination (Comme des Garcon's Avignon, with two different musk oils). She apparently had an unusual amount of involvement in the making, at least for a celebrity.
My friend had given me "Lovely", SJP's first fragrance, and while I really enjoyed it, I find "Covet" more intriguing. For a celebrity perfume it is certainly surprisingly dark after the initial green, bright, citrus-y burst. It's quite a warm floral after a while, and not particularly sweet (although they say it has a cocoa note, so I grabbed my block of 70% Whittakers -- it does have a bit of that in there!). It then dies down to a woody base that wears close to the skin. The base notes last a good 12 hours.
The packaging is something different to all the taller fragrance bottles I own. The bottle is solid and weighty, lending it a classic, elegant feel. The top is flower shaped, covering the nozzle and can get knocked off easily if you're not careful.
I purchased this discounted from its RRP, but I think even if bought at full price it's worth it. This is subjective, of course, but it really is a high quality fragrance whether you compare it to other "celebrity" fragrances or not.
I think this would be a good winter scent, and perhaps would even work on a man.
Tips: I think Covet would work for both a cold day snuggled in a warm woolen jumper, and a formal dressy occasion.
I was given this as a gift a year or two ago and I never really wore it until recently when I ran out of my favourite perfume. I was surprised at how much I actually like it. It's definitely a unique smell, I guess the above description of it will have to do as I am terrible at describing smells.
The bottle is super pretty and it is pretty inexpensive, so I definitely think it should be given a chance.
I do like this scent, its quite inviting and easy to wear. I'm not generally a fan of SJP so having said that I wouldn't rush out and purchase any of her scents. I was given a bottle of Covet and my Mother and I both tried it and were pleasantly surprised. I find it quite spicy and sultry and a celeb fragrance that doesn't smell like the rest.. I would recommend giving this a whiff if you are a fan of Dior Addict like scents as I think it would appeal to you!
I really love the whole package on this perfume. Its a fragrance that is best suited for day time wear, work and friends get together. Light minty apple with hints of a woody musk lingers on my wrist for a long time, a great quality perfume that I need only apply in the morning and be good right through the day without any need for top ups. The bottle is chunky with its smoky brown coloured glass lid that looks like a flower. Spritzing is even and you get just the right amount. All in all its a winner in my books and will always have a place on my dresser.
Disliked this fragrance. Suited for the more mature. I THINK. It was possibly my chemistry ofcourse but it didn't suit me at all Just not for me.
