Lately I’ve been loving the W7 range of eyeshadow palettes, not only are some of them amazing dupes for the Urban Decay Naked palettes but they offer twelve great quality eye shadows. The palette comes encased in a pretty purple tin and it has a party vibe to it with the shadow names having a magic and party theme to them and I have to admit I really do love the names. In the Night offers a gorgeous range of shades from silvers to violets with dusky and coppery tones in between. All of the shades are quite blendable and can be used together to create a range of smokey eye looks perfect for nights out. The twelve shadow names, from left to right in the palette are Dusty, Wonderland, Summer, Atlanta, Abracadabra, Top Hot, Razzamataz, Lady Luck, Laura E, Party Pooper, Gate Crash and Bologna. My favorites out of the shades are Wonderland, Summer, Abracadabra and Lady Luck – as usual I find myself preferring the lighter shades in the palette. The eye shadows have a shimmer to them which is great for the party theme the palette has.
However, I also wear some of these shades on their own and think they’re fine for everyday wear too, I think this palette has great versatility when it comes to the shades it has to offer. The colour payoff from the shadows is great. I use every shadow in the palette apart from Bologna as I just find it too dark for me but that’s just personal preference. In the Night is a palette which really does offer something for everyone, the shades it has are suitable for both light and dark skin tones and a variety of bold and subtle looks can be created using them all too.
Have you got any W7 Eyeshadow Palettes in your makeup collection?
I bought this for $15 from Postie Plus which I think is a total score for something of this quality and by reading the description above I got it for cheaper than the RRP......yuussss!!! I am in total love with the purple tin that it comes in. I was shocked at the lovely quality of the packaging for something so affordable. I can rest assured that it wont get broken or shatter in my makeup bag with this tin protecting the jewels inside. It comes with a long applicator which has a brush on one end and a sponge on the other. Usually I throw the applicator away as soon as I open it but this time I decided to give it a try. I applied with the brush and blended with the sponge and found that it was quite an easy tool to use and to get a nice finish. The brush is quite stiff and doesn't hold on to the product as much as I would like though.
The inside of the palette is black sponge around the shadow blocks. The colours are dark and sultry which is perfect for a night out. They range from charcoal/silver/light pinks and purples. They have bling all through them which adds the bedazzled look to your eyes. Upon opening this I found that the shadows have a faint smell of berries to it. The colours aren't highly pigmented but for $15 I am all in with a grin. I can build the intensity of the colour if I want more of a statement look so it works out in the end. I love the glittery bits in it because it means I can look glam without being overdone. This palette is perfect for smokey eyes which is how I wear it most times unless I am feeling daring then I do something completely out of the box. This palette is so versatile that it allows your creativity to go nuts. I am sold and now need the sister palettes to go with 'In the night'.
Tips: Build the colour up for a more statement look and dust finishing powder over to keep it looking fresh.
