I'm hair mask obsessed. With colouring and styling - hair masks are my 'must have'.
This Mask was a win for me in the regime, particularly used as a deep conditioning treatment in shower & also as a leave-in treatment.
I used it a few ways, some worked better than others. I still ponder the packaging statement ‘1001 uses'.
You get a really big tub of hair mask, which is fantastic, and the lid is an easy open/shut for use in the shower! No water gets in! The coconut scent is divine. Definitely stronger in scent than the shampoo/conditioner.
I used this a few, but not 1001 ways. I used it a few times as an Overnight mask. This is really lovely when you put it on, and comb it through. A beautiful scent, and quite relaxing. It then begins to dry and becomes a little crunchy but then you fall asleep and forget. By morning, you have a pretty crazy hair style happening if you haven’t tied it up – or can’t tie it up, like me! Rinsing it out you question whether you should shampoo as it feels like beautifully conditioned hair. If you have fine hair, I don’t recommend skipping shampooing – I did this the first time, and had quite oily hair that day. So definitely shampoo and condition like normal (as they recommend). I found my hair definitely felt like I’d added a boost of nourishment and had a little extra smoothness happening. I was happy – the frizz was less frizzy and the dry ends seemed more cooperative with styling! I also tried this as a Leave-In conditioner, which I really liked! I was cautious with this because having fine hair, and adding 'conditioner' to leave in aren't usually too compatible, but this mask surprisingly worked really well. I only needed to put the teeny tiniest amount of mask through towel dried hair but it did add a little extra nourishment and softness which I liked. I could skip the hair oil if I used the mask as a leave-in. The mask and hair oil together were a bit much for my fine hair.
My favourite use for this mask was just as an extra conditioning treatment in the shower in the mornings. I’d towel dry my hair, leave it in for 5 minutes and rinse, and my hair felt amazing.
Finally, because the instructions said it was an option, I used it as a finishing balm after I’d styled. For this, you definitely need only a smudge of product, rubbed through hands first. Definitely tamed the frizz and settled the fly-aways, with a boost of shine, but with my fine hair it tended to look overly oily shiny! Not the winner of the 1001 uses. Ranking the uses of this mask - favourite to least, it would go #1 In shower conditioning treatment #2 Leave-in conditioner #3 Overnight hair mask #4 Finishing Balm (wouldn't recommend for fine hair!)
Love this mask for my dry fine hair. It definitely returns my locks to a healthier softer zone. A little extra healthy shine - but I'd like more, but that is the challenge of dry hair! I'd purchase this again - when it finally runs out. Great bang for buck!
This product is quite thick, which is what I like when using a hair mask/treatment. Despite the thick consistency the product itself goes a long way. The tub is a reasonable size and easy to use with the screw top lid. So I can imagine the product would last a while, depending on the frequency of use. Bonus it doesn't take up to much room in the shower either! This product definitely smells like coconut but isn't over powering. The coconut fragrance does linger in your hair which is nice. I would recommend this to a friend as it is easy to get hold off (supermarket, pharmacy, Farmers etc), reasonably priced and a decent size.
Tips: I found the best way was to use it after shampooing and rinsing it out - it left my hair feeling nourished and shiny.
