I bought this tub off another br member. She didn't quite like it enough to keep and I decided it sounded like something I wanted to try out. I think the life's a beach name is really cute and of course I love trying out new lush items.
This comes in a black pot with a screw lid. It is pretty recognisable as a lush black pot. The cool thing about these pots is that when you have 5 empty ones, you can take them back into the store for a free face masque. This also has a sticker which has the name of the person who made it, the day it was made and a best before date. Mine is actually very close to the best before date but I'm almost done and it would probably last a bit longer anyway!
This scrub only has a few ingredients, the main ones being salt and sand. When you look at this, it pretty much just looks like sand you get off the beach! It's slightly fluffier to me though and a bit coarser feeling as this has a lot more salt (I think), then beach sand. It smells incredible too. Very fruity sweet and a bit tropical almost too. I can't pinpoint the exact fragrance, but to me it smells really good.
I like to use this in the shower to stop so much mess. I wash myself, then turn off the shower. I then get small scoops and rub it all over my wet skin. I feel like this gives me a really good scrub and when I wash it off after, my skin feels really smooth. I am a coffee scrub lover but I think this one comes pretty close for me.
I think this is pretty decent value too. I bought this just over half full. I've had about 6 scrubs from it and have enough left for about 2 more. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves a good body scrub and also enjoys sweeter scents.
I have the original version of this in the black tub. It was sold as a fundraiser for only $10 and smells like melons. So when I saw it sat on the counter and the lovely Lush assistant asked me if I wanted to buy it, of course I said yes!
It also looks like glorious golden sand! On closer inspection when I got it home, that was its primary ingredient, along with sea salt. Did Lush just sell me fancy flavoured sand?!?! The effect of this on my skin is the same as going in the sea when you have any small cuts. Boy does it sting! I relegated this to the back of the cupboard until I realised it would make a great foot scrub! It does leave my feet lovely and soft but I wouldn't buy it again. As a loose 'sand' it's not that easy to use without dropping lots of product so I'll be giving this a miss.
