I love the Evolu products I have used so far and so I picked this up in the Beauty Vault. Simple white and gold tube, ✔. Natural ingredients, ✔. Made in NZ, ✔. Consistency is thickish, kind of sticky lotion. Smells herbally, I def smell patchouli, which kicks my gag reflex off, but thankfully it doesn't linger. My skin is olive with yellow undertones, and I find that while this lotion protects my skin well, it definitely leaves a white film on my skin. If I wear makeup over it, it changes the colour match, so I don't wear it when I wear makeup. I save it for the makeup free weekend. I like lots about it, imcluding that it is a good moisturiser that my sensitive skin doesn't react to, and that it is reef safe, but wouldn't purchase.

Tips: I also apply this to the top of my hands.
I picked this up in the vault and was very excited to try it as it sounded like it would be right up my alley.
The packaging is very typical of Evolu - simple, yet stylish. The moisturiser comes in a squeeze tube, which is my preferred method of delivery as it's great for travelling. The moisturiser itself is thick and goes on very white. It's not very pliable and takes a while to sink in, however once it's sunk it you don't see the white cast on your skin any longer. It has a very strong scent which I'm not fond of, but I can live with it.
Unfortunately this day cream wasn't for me. It dried out my skin even more (even when used over an oil) and over the day my dry patches where further emphasised. It does say it keeps you shine-free, so I wonder if this would be better on someone with more oily skin? Otherwise it's a no for me - I'll finish the tube because it feels wasteful not to, but I wouldn't purchase.
I really love the packaging of this product, simple yet elegant. I also like the fact it comes in a tube as opposed to a jar or a tub, so much easier to dispense the cream.
It smells like a sunblock to me which makes sense as it has SPF in it. Unfortunately sun protection products and I have a love/hate relationship and I struggle to find one that doesn't react to my skin.
This one doesn't react which is good, however I don't like the formula because it feels almost grainy? You know when you're at the beach and you need to re-apply but you have a bit of sand on your hand and it feels a tad rough? I think it would make a great exfoliator with a little extra added grain of some kind and take out the SPF lol.
It comes out pretty white which maybe due to the zinc in it, so you definitely need to blend it in really well or you'll look like frosty the snowman.
I work outside sometimes for my job and with the weather getting hot, I need protection, this does the job so no burny burny for me.
Would I purchase this again? Probably not as it just doesn't seem to be the right fit for my skin. Will definitely finish the tube though.
I like it but I find my makeup goes on powdery looking and strange after using this product. It’s perfect for when your having a natural day it actually even makes your skin look better like a blur like effect. I got this in the rewards vault, it seems pricy, I’m not sure if I would purchase again yet
I picked this beauty up in my beauty box I got in the last vault. I have not been disappointed by Evolution . I like this natural wholesome brand. For a day cream I’m looking for one with SPF to save having to put sunscreen on .
Packaging is nothing fantastic . Nothing special basic looking . Consistency is creamy with a natural scent reminiscent of kiwi fruit mixed with zesty limes . Application is easy . Now I’m quite a dark skinned girl and this makes me look quite white . It seems to wear well under foundation hasn’t caused any slipping .
My skin feels hydrated refreshed ready to go to start my day . I like this natural scent . I probably wouldn’t buy this at its price. I think in the $30 to 40 bracket would be a reasonable price for it . Overall a good cream . I would recommend it to a friend.
I don't like Evolu's products much but this product worked really well for me. It is very nice and gentle on skin and doesn't dry it at all. The texture is a bit thick and too white but if to apply right amount it absorbs well. I love it has SPF though I'd prefer SPF 50. Overall I am happy with this cream and will use again.
I have been on the hunt for a good natural day cream for a while unfortunately I didn't really like this one.
It states that its "clear zinc sunscreen" however its so hard to rub in and its very white so I don't think its actually clear. I was put off by that. Once its on it is lightweight which is a bonus. It made my skin quite dry too which was such a downfall.
Its a bit pricey for my liking $59.99. I think its quite expensive for what it is.
I like that it is SPF30, I think its very important to use products with sun protection included in them and I like seeing new products being released that include sun protection. Especially natural products.
Sadly this day cream isn't my cup of tea. I still enjoyed trying it out though.
Wow, I can't quite understand the Evolu brand. Not a brand I see or hear a lot about.
Things that I appreciate about this cream is it's Age Defence category, my category. It's made in NZ, has lots of complimentary products in brand, is a day cream with SPF, packed full with ingredients I really like (Shea butter & Vit E, two of my favourites).
I would assume based on all those points it would be made for me, disappointed that it hasn't quite hit the mark.
The tube is 60ml, on the smaller side especially with price point. At $60.00 it really needs to deliver. The addition of clear zinc with 30 UVA + UVB seems secure and trusty for those who like built in sun protection. For me I am not a real sun lover, the protection is a little over the top, I protect myself already with spf moisterisors. Using clear gel spf is a preferred way for me to protect myself. I dont need the level of protection this product offers.
Format is too thick for my liking, found it didn't quite fit in with my other products I use for the day.
Keeping in mind during summer it's hotter and perhaps it'll be helpful when not wearing makeup or spending time outside makeup free.
Not that great working as a base for my makeup, unfortunately it's notnabsorbing and blending in.
Kinda a fail for me, not at all prepared to spend $60.00. Disappointed but not devastated by it, it'll stay in my draw, just not my first choice and would need some convincing to purchase.
This again demonstrates that the beauty box is always appreciated my me with having the opportunity to really trial products that are always new to me.
NZ has such a array of ingredients and many options in the "NZ made" market, I am certain Evolu fits in for so many others.
Tips: Clear zinc added, a go to for real Sun lovers.
I'm a spf nut. I religiously apply spf to my face rain or shine every day. I do like some natural based spf creams because I like having that physical spf blocker to reflect the UV rays. All of Evolu's products is really light so I had high hopes for this one. Now I tend to pile on the spf since I want the spf protection that's promised on the tube and you need more just a light dab, but since this is a mineral one I started out light and it very quickly my face got greasy. I did have a bit of a white cast on my skin. I'm a Mac NC25 for reference. Granted I've used thicker spf creams but still the texture is not what I would classify as weightless. Also when it migrated to around my eyes they felt a bit sensitive. It also doesn't have the best smell but I get used to the smell so it doesn't bother me as much. I also found it to be expensive for the price you get 60ml for 60 bucks which if you apply about half a teaspoon of spf to your face as recommended isn't going to last you very long. I won't be repurchasing this.
Tips: Get a sample before you buy. As the product claims are a bit misleading, especially if you're used to a chemical spf this might be too heavy for your liking.
