Lush Toothfairy Tooth Powder Review

Close your eyes, make a wish and swish. Magically clean, sparkling teeth are just a brush away with this mild, strawberry-flavoured tooth powder. Don't be fooled by appearances, the arrowroot powder, lemon oil and xylitol keep teeth - both big and small - healthy. The tooth fairy will be impressed with teeth at their best.

nice idea, but

with a name like tooth fairy and such a magical appearance the taste and texture in your mouth is very unpleasant. i would describe the taste as similar to baking soda toothpaste except worse. it left a weird feeling in my mouth as well, but at least it left my teeth feeling clean.

Tips: if you don't mind bad tasting toothpaste then it's completely fine! cleans your teeth well enough if you use the right amount

Interesting choice

I find the concept of a powder toothpaste just a little odd. Im not sure i would feel comfortable using it as an everyday item as my teeth didnt feel clean enough after use. The taste wasnt fantastic either- I maybe because i find fruity toothpaste slightly odd.

Tips: One good thing is the tubs count towards 5 returned pots earns a free lush mask- Another awesome way to help the enviroment!

Worst idea ever! Ick

I got a tub of this in a Xmas box, and used it then lost it. I found it the other day and it had expired, but I remembered why I hate it so much.

This is a tooth cleaning powder, but it really isn't something I aspire to have in my mouth again. It's a greyish pink powder with sparkles (really! so weird) and the idea is that you wet your toothbrush and dip it in, then brush away. It contains arrowroot, xylitol and lemon oil - I'm really familiar with xylitol, it's common in gum in Japan, and it's a pretty good teeth cleaning agent. Unfortunately, this powder transforms from a powder into a foam that fills my mouth too much and tastes horrendous. My teeth feel okay after but not super clean, possibly because I can't stand the taste and don't brush for long enough.

Won't even by again and it's a big nope from me. :(

Musky baby powder!

Being friends with Lush addicts has its perks! My beautiful friend Desiree sent me a couple of samples, and this happened to be one of them. I had been wanting to try it for a while, so I was really thankful she did that!

The powder is a grey color, tinged slightly pink, and has little sparkles in it. Luckily neither interfere with how the powder works. It smells like a mix between Snow Fairy, Rose Jam and baby powder and musk - and I'm not against it but it's not a smell or taste I really want in my mouth.

I didn't really notice this bubbling when I used it in my mouth - it went a bit foamy but not to the extent that my regular toothpaste does. It did make my mouth feel clean but without the minty flavoring I'm used to, I couldn't help but brush them again. So, it's nice, and works... But not my type of thing.

Odd but oh so good

I will admit that I purchased this based entirely on the name... my daughter was a muse as well... seeing as she had recently lost a tooth and was asking.. what did the tooth fairy do with all those teeth?? well... luckily the answer isn't in this wee tub... oh no... just a glittery tub of toothfairy magic! that will make for the pearliest whites... just magic!

It's a tooth POWDER, a strange concept to me as I have always used conventional tube tooth paste and well, I had no idea but my first thoughts were that this was a mix your own kind of deal... it's not that!

So the little tub looks a lot like the black pots that the face masks and scrubs come in but it is clear plastic instead, inside is a sweet strawberry scented sparkly powder that has slightly larger lumps for good measure. So what you do is dip your toothbrush into the powder and brush your teeth as normal... it foams up but way less than regular tooth products and sparkly clean... wow! my teeth feel so very very smooth I like this so much I bought more but had to switch to a sensitive toothpaste before I could open it (I had a previous filling that was failing) so when I have used that up I will happily go back to Tooth fairy.

It is easy to use, works well and lasts a while, only downside is an odd aftertaste but it isn't bad... just odd

Don't mind if this tooth fairy doesn't visit again

This came in one of the Christmas gift packs at Christmas time. I wasn't too sure on this product because you normally brush your teeth with toothpaste from a tube... Not a powder from a tub. And sometimes if ain't broke don't fix it, but to be fair I had to try it because I could be missing out on something.

Like I said above this comes in a tub, a clear tub with a screw top lid. The bright pink label on the lid, with tooth fairy written on it makes me instantly think ooh snow fairy! I unscrew the lid and notice the strawberry scent and notice all the sparkly fairy dust amongst the slightly pink coloured powder.

I tip a small amount of the powder onto the lid and dip my toothbrush in that rather than the whole pot as the label suggests. I first notice the strawberry taste, don't get me wrong I love strawberries... But not in a tooth cleaning product, It just seems odd. It doesn't foam up in my mouth like a toothpaste either and has a rather chalky feel to it, it's almost like brushing your teeth with a combination of baking soda and talcum powder.

After I finish, my teeth feel really clean almost polished. But I have no minty fresh feel that I love. Also for some bizarre reason I couldn't stop burping for an hour after using it even though I never ingested any. It left a harsh feeling on the back of my throat that stayed for hours.

While it left my teeth feeling polished I won't repurchase it. I love traditional toothpaste with fluoride to help keep my fangs strong.
