I must admit I'm lazy when it comes to the details. Top coats? What are they? Bottom coats? Huh? But many beauty columns have taught me you need both, so when I saw this on the Revlon stand I knew I had to get it and see if the great 'they' were right.
First of all, I have to say that applying two coats of nail polish tests my patience enough, so four coats is quite the trial! I find the bottom coat dries quickly enough - and when the polish comes off (even the red stuff) my nails don't look slightly yellow as they sometimes can do. The top coat goes on after 2 or sometimes 3 coats of polish, and that's when I start to wonder what the point is... because by then I have 4 - 5 coats of nail guff on my fingers and an hour later, even if I'm using quick dry polish, I find I can still get scuffs on my nails. Huff.
I do believe it does keep the polish on there longer though, if only by a day. But I'll take that day. I don't adore this product, but I don't hate it either. I'll keep using it (if only to avoid the skanky yellow nail bed look), but part of me finds the whole process just too hard and too inhibiting to use every single time I pop a polish on.
This works just fine as base coat as for using as a top coat im not sold upon initial application it looks great however it doesn't wear too well I found over the next couple days it cracks like glass so the coat under the top is still good but the top clear coat looks nasty.
