The ELF stipple brush was actually one of the first brushes I added my to collection, due to the recommendation from a vlogger who I adore and I have to admit it has become a favourite of mine, and a brush I use almost every day.
This Brush is a product from the Elf range. If you haven’t heard of ELF before, this brand is an extremely affordable option, with this brush costing around $3 USD, which I think is incredibly cheap for this brush. (I purchase mine off I herb for those who are interested). This brush has a simple design, and features an almost entirely black handle, which is adorned with the ELF logo in plain white text. The handle feels like it’s made of a plastic, but it feels quite strong and sturdy and I find it easy to hold and like the slight curved shape of the handle. The mid-section of the brush has a metal coating over it which continues until the actual brush bristles begin. The bristles are so soft, and sort of pouf out a little bit and feature both black and white bristles, with the black bristles being about ¾ of the length of the white ones.
This brush was recommended for the use of cream blushes, and so that is the main product I use with this brush and I just find it amazing for cream blushes. Literally every other method, tool, and brush I have tried for cream blushes is nothing compared to this. This brush easily picks up the blush, and disperses it evenly over my face so that’s amazing. I also use this brush for powder foundations, as well as blending product so find it’s a really great multi-purpose product. I really think everyone should have one of these in their collection, especially if they use cream blushes a lot, or if they are just starting a brush collection. This is a super affordable option which so far hasn’t shed a single bristle (and I have been using this for over 6months), plus it’s a great multi-purpose brush.
I bought this brush as I had been looking for a stipple brush and I love the E.L.F brand.
I really like this brush for applying liquid foundation. But that being said, I wear liquid foundation lightly under powder foundation. For this combination this brush works really well.
For heavier foundation or for wearing liquid foundation alone it could look slightly streaky and a beauty blender may be a better option. But if you are wearing powder over top, brushing that on with a kabuki brush or something of the sorts seems to help further blend the liquid foundation underneath.
The brush is soft and quite fine. I have not found the bristles to come out at all yet (I have owned it for almost a year). I find it washes easily and goes back into shape well.
I am totally happy with this brush and it exceeded my expectations. I would definitely purchase again.
Tips: Great for applying light liquid foundation. To avoid any noticeable streaks, use a powder foundation over top.
