Evolu Rehydration Rescue Masque Review

For some reason face masks tend to disappoint me - I don't know if my expectations are too high and I'm anticipating miracles, but no matter the mask, deep cleanse, purifying, uber-moisturising, I find the results lacklustre.

Well, hello Evolu! Winter has left me with my usual super dry cheeks and forehead, like desert dry.

The packaging is lovely, very classy. A simple upside down squeeze tube. I like that it takes a bit of effort to squeeze out the product - no wastage!

60ml seems small for a moisturising mask, which tend to need slathering on, but this thick cream actually goes quite far. I couldn't find any instructions on how often to use it, so I've been using it a couple of times a week.

It goes on like a thick moisturiser and absorbs quite well, with just the 'feeling' of a layer left on your skin. When using overnight there was no obvious residue on my pillow, win!

I did feel a warming sensation, this wasn't on the packaging so I'm not sure if its typical, but I had no reaction/adverse effects, so I'm putting it down to the mask doing its thing.

Like all Evolu products the scent is absolutely divine. Natural, but not overly floral, its just nommy!

So far so good. But does it work? Well, my skin is softer than it's ever been, the dry patches were gone after the first use, I feel my skin looks brighter and more clear. I did experience a wee break out in my hair line and my nose crevices felt a little oily. On other uses I just avoided these areas and had no issue!

The only reason I've gone 4/5 is the price. I do think it's a wee bit pricey for the size, if the tube were bigger, I wouldn't bat an eyelid at paying it, as it is a great product.

Prior to reviewing this I had never tried a leave on overnight masque. To be honest I didn't know they existed, so I was quite excited to give it a whirl. I love the fact that you are effectively feeding your skin while you sleep. The texture of the masque is dense but not creamy, it is gently fragranced with bergamot and sweet orange essential oils. Upon application it literally soaks into your face. I wasn't expecting anything miraculous when I rinsed it off the following morning, but was pleasantly surprised to feel how soft my skin was. My once dehydrated skin really did feel restored & that was due to only one application! The listed ingredients of vinanza, vitamins, proteins and Omega-6 fatty acids work a treat. For this review I used the masque a total of 10 times overnight. My skin feels great - I'm really pleased with the results.

This stuff is literally gold!!! Rehydration rescue masque to the rescue alright. Totally rehydrated my skin in as little time as a week actually almost instantly. This stuff smells phenomenal, like a very pleasant citrus smell. The stuff feels amazing on the skin! It doesn't leave the skin greasy at all either! Just gently absorbs leaving skin feeling firm, hydrated fabulous. I love the packaging too! This stuff has amazing ingredients like grape extract, kiwi fruit extract, Manuka oil, hazelnut, kawakawa and borage so its New Zealand all over. Ticks all my boxes!!!

Super excited to review this brand as I've heard nothing but amazing feedback on them. First impressions are good i love the packaging its a nice purply grey colour and a good size tube. Proudly made in NZ :) It has a nice scent nice clean and fresh. The texture is really nice its a thicker cream and when you put it on it is matte on your skin. Ive been using it every 2nd night and really like how my skin has fallen in love with it. I have a few dry patches and these are looking a lot less dry now. Ive tried a mixture of leaving it on over night and also leaving it for 1/2 hr then using a hot cloth to remove it and both are really lovely. This Mask is definitely going to be a keeper for me and a huge recommendation.

I was luckily enough to trial this masque. I have tried a couple of Evolu products in the past with mixed results so I was interested to give this a go.

This masque is in a lilac coloured tube with a white flip lid which it sits on. It comes boxed in a lilac coloured box with instructions on the side on how to use this.

I found the instructions kind of lacking. They told you to cleanse and tone your face, then apply the masque to your face, neck and decolletage. Then you were given the option of either washing it off or leaving it on until the morning. There was nothing about the other products you may be using as well such as an eye cream or night cream or a serum, as in when and if to apply them. This I felt was a bit lacking on the part of Evolu.

I like the tube as you dont have to dip your fingers into a pot and possibly spread germs and get it under your nails.

The masque itself is white in colour and a cream like texture. It has a pleasent scent, not too strong so I think it will suit people who dont like strong fragrances.

I applied it to my cleansed and toned face, neck and decolletage and opted for the overnight option. It did feel lovely and was very easy to apply. It absorbed well and felt nice on my skin,I didnt feel like I had a thick layer of masque on my face. As it absorbed so well I was not concerned about leaving any residue on my pillowcase, and it didnt.

In the morning I washed the masque off in the shower and once I got out and dried my face off I was very happy with what I saw. My skin actually looked great! I had a good long look in the mirror with the light on and wearing my glasses and yes!, good looking skin. It felt soft as well. I continued to use the masque and the results were great. I didnt realise much moisture my skin was lacking.

I will continue to use this masque until it has finished, however, even with great results $54.99 is a big price for 60mls and I am still unsure if I will purchase this.

Packaging - The grey/silver box looks very sleek and impressive. But the small white font is very difficult to read. Even with glasses I struggled a bit.

Tube - Initial thoughts were the quantity of cream that comes out when the tube is squeezed is very small. But when applied, I realised the small quantity goes a long way. Masque - It delivers. It does what it says on the product. Just after 3/4 days my skin felt healthy & hydrated. After using for a week, my daughter commented, your skin is looking very good. She doesn't know I am trying a new product. and she is my biggest critique. Which proves the masque is actually good.

Fragrance - No fragrance. Personally I prefer fragrance but the absence of one did not put me off.

Price - I would love to buy again but is a bit pricey for me.

The Evolu Rehydration rescue masque is definitely different to any type of masque I’ve used before.

The packaging is handy and easy to use – it’s the perfect size to take away on holiday or to pop in your bag. It smells absolutely lovely, it has a subtle fruity smell that reminds me of having a facial at the beauticians.

I love the feel of it on my skin, it feels like a moisturizing cream and is so light that you can’t even feel that it’s on your skin once it has absorbed (which is very quick). I also love the option of leaving it on overnight and washing it off in the morning – I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. It’s also reassuring to know that it contains plenty of vitamins, proteins and omega-6 fatty acids as at my age, my skin needs as much help as it can get.

The directions say ‘Either leave on overnight and cleanse in the morning, or remove with a warm wet towel after relaxation time.’ I’ve tried the ‘relaxation time during the day’ option but my children seem to have other ideas ;-). I did leave it on during the day on the weekend but minus the relaxation time. No one would know you had it on which is also very handy.

It has made my skin feel so soft and dare I say, youthful. While I have the masque on, I can’t stop touching my skin as it feels amazing. It feels much more hydrated than it usually does, and actually the best it has felt in a long while. I look forward to further continual use to see the results over a longer period.

This is the first Evolu product I’ve tried but I think I may need to investigate further and purchase some additional Evolu products if the rescuing masque is anything to go by. Love this product!

This is currently one of my favourite masques! I love it because it hydrates and pampers your skin overnight but doesn't feel heavy or thick on my skin like some night creams or overnight masques. This feels so light and absorbs into my skin I can practically apply it and then hit the sack like five minutes later without the product ending up on my pillow case. The product is suggested for dry or very mature skin but really I have used this during summer when I had oily skin and it didn't feel heavy or make me break out. The natural ingredients in this masque are borage and hazelnut oil, kawakawa, grape and kiwifruit extract, manuka oil and sweet orange, bergamot, howood and coriander oil. There's no added fragrance but the masque smells lightly citrus. I like to use this in place of a night cream at least once a week but I could easily use this nightly. I like to use an exfoliating masque either something with skincare acids or a clay or a mud masque because my skin is fresher and ready for rehydration and rejuvenation. Plus my skin is just a tad drier after exfoliation. The next morning my skin looks smooth and hydrated but I don't wake up with my skin still sticky from last night's moisturizer. I found this masque to work just as well during winter as during summer. I highly recommend this. It's pricey but you don't need very much so I find the tube lasts me a really long time.

i am totally in love with this! i have pretty dry skin, i have used alot of products to try help, most don't work but this is amazing! it is a little on the pricey side, but its worth it. i love how it has so many natural products in it. the smell is amazing. its very easy to put on, i used it for both overnight and for about an hour, both left my skin feeling soft and hydrated, overnight was better i guess as more had gotten into my skin, but if you don't like leaving creams on overnight than having it on for a few hours would still work wonders. Definitely on my recommended list

I love using a masque so was really pleased when I was chosen to trial this product. The product comes in a lovely lilac box with mainly white writing and a few words depicted in a dark brown and the tube inside is the same. I love the colour of the tube and box but reading the instructions required a magnifying glass. The main ingredients of grape extract,kiwifruit extract,manuka oil,hazelnut ,nz kawakawa and borage all in darker print and easy to read. The ingredients sounded really nourishing so I was feeling good about the product. The cream is the tube is a nice consistency and has a really velvety feel on contact with your face and a delicate citrus scent which I really like. First I cleansed my skin and toned and chose the option of applying and leaving on my face overnight as I have a dry sensitive skin so wanted to give the masque lots of time to work it's magic. When I applied my face was coated in white and I imagined I would wake up with a white concrete face however this did not happen -Within a few minutes of applying the excess cream had soaked into my skin and my skin was back to it's usual colour. The first morning after I washed off the masque I was a little disappointed as although my skin felt nice I did not feel it looked a lot better that usual however as the tube although only 60 Mls had plenty of product left so I decided I would use every night for the week and I feel I have been well rewarded. Each day I feel my skin looks that little bit fresher ,smoother and brighter and I notice my wrinkes are softer that they were. I felt the product at $54 was a little expensive however it is not just a one off use and as such I feel overall it is a quality product and needs to be used regularly to get maximum results. Would I buy it again -I am not sure -I like it and enjoy using but is it better than a good night cream -debateable. I will continue using until the tube is finished as it is nice to use and I will then feel I have given a fair chance before I decide if I will purchase in the future.
