Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base SPF 15 Reviews
For any skin with occasional or persistent redness.
Oil-free makeup primer with a sheer green tint visually corrects redness. It’s the third step in our Redness Solutions Regimen.
What It Does
Instantly reduces the appearance of redness. Helps shield skin from the UVA/UVB exposure that can aggravate redness-prone skins. Does it without chemical sunscreens. The best way to get redness under control is a consistent, non-irritating routine. Each part of Clinique’s Redness Solutions Regimen has a purpose: cleanse, soothe, protect.

I have had acne for a number of years and even when I don't have an active breakout with the scarring I have my skin does have a red tinge in places, so I was interested in seeing if Clinique's Redness Solutions Protective Base did anything to help.
My first reaction before even trying the product was actually mild disapointment in how low the level of SPF the product has in it for something stating it is '"protective" and working to shield your skin from sun exposure. SPF 15 in my opinion really is quite low and while I'm happy for my foundation to have that level a product aiming at protecting your skin should have higher.
This comes in a squeeze tube packaging which is green, matching the colour of the cream inside. This didn't suprise me as green is normally used to counteract redness. The product itself is a thick cream with a slight clay smell to it, reminding me almost of a face mask.
I applied this after moisturising before makeup and it applied easily with a clear finish, no green tinge to the skin. It did feel a bit heavy on my skin.
I never actually noticed any difference in redness using this product to when I didn't use it, and ended up not finishing the tube before discarding it because I didn't like how it felt on my skin.
Pricewise this isn't inexpensive so I wouldn't repurchase I didn't feel like it had any positive benefits, I'd prefer a good old SPF 50 to protect my skin.
