Just okay.

I was super excited to try this product and was told by the retail assistant that it should be used like a toner. Honestly, I don't think this is a necessary step in your skincare routine, and I have dry skin - which this product is targeted to. I was also using the moisture surge moisturiser at the time - from the same range. I found on days that I didn't use this product, I absorbed the same amount of moisture. If interested in trying this, it is quite good as a toner as it isn't irritating and soothes the skin, following cleansing and exfoliating. However, claiming that this product keeps skin hydrated for 72 hours just isn't justified for me personally. As someone with dry skin I would rather save my money and apply moisturiser.

Clinique Hydrating Moisture Surge But Too Pricey!

I ran out of my fave Hada Labo watery gel emulsion and my skin got pretty dry. I remembered I had a couple squeezy sample tubes of this that I could use to tie me over. This is a thicker clear, gel that becomes like a clear gel serum when spread it on your skin. There's these little beads inside that are supposed to be full of moisture that dissolve with the slightest bit of pressure. I only needed a small amount to cover my face and neck and it was even gentle enough to take up to my eye area. Within a few days my skin was back to feeling plump and moisturized and within a week my moisture levels had probably gone up a bit. One little squeezy tube used twice a day would probably last me couple weeks. Now can I justify the price? No. My Hada Labo lotion does just a good if not better at a fraction of the price. I would be in awe of this product if I hadn't tried Hada Labo before. Also Hada Labo gives me a hydrated pump skin this gives me a moisturized plump skin and I slightly prefer the first one. If you still want to try this product buy a small sample tube to try out.

Tips: When you apply this to your face take it to your eye area to hydrate and moisturize them as well.

Smoothing on skin initially but not 72hours.

I purchased a smaller 15ml size of this from Mecca for $28 to try. It comes in a clear tube with a flip top lid. It was easy enough to get a small amount out of the tube as it is fairly flexible so I didn't need to squeeze to hard.

The texture is like a watery gel. Its looks pink in the tube but comes out clear with small suspended beads or blobs which I guess are the supercharged bits or according to Clinique they are encapsulated antioxidants! To apply I pressed it between my fingers to squash the beads/blobs and then I applied allover my face. It didn't feel greasy but did take a few minutes to fully absorb into my skin.

While it gave me a little bit of extra hydration before moisturizing it seemed really unnecessary and expensive. It doesn't live up to its claims of 72hours extra hydration and it would be a lot cheaper to find a more nourishing moisturiser in the long run. No I would no repurchase this.

Tips: Try to get a sample before you commit.

Great but pricey

I love this range but it can be a little too hydrating for my combination skin. I do however really like this serum. It leaves my skin feeling soft , plump and hydrated without leaving an oil slick on my face. It’s lightweight and cooling so great in both Summer and Winter but it’s very expensive. At the end of the day it is a Hyaluronic Acid type serum which can be purchased at literally a 10th of the price. Because of the packaging (a pump) you can see how much you’re using with each pump and mine seems to be running out very quickly. I would use it again but only if it was on sale as I definitely consider this a splurge.

Decent, Not Amazing

I started using this product in conjunction with the moisture surge 100h moisturiser and overnight mask, when my skin was so dry on isotretinoin and nothing else was working. Together these 3 products brought moisture back to my skin without irritation and redness however I have now swapped them for cheaper alternatives. To be clear, this product did not keep my skin moisturised for 72 hours. None of the products did. But together they did keep it moisturised throughout the day which was what I needed. The 100h moisturiser was not moisturizing enough on it's own, layering this product underneath did increase the moisture. I also liked that I could use this product under my eyes - in that respect this product is much better value for money than clinique's other eye creams. If your skin is oily this product might be enough on it's own but for dry or normal skin types I believe this product needs to used with a moisturizer over the top to really get the hydrating benefits. I really liked using this product, and when I ran out of the 100h moisturiser I started using this with Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel Cream and got equally got results. However, this is very expensive and I can't justify buying it routinely. I have since replaced this with "Watercooler", a hydrating serum by Mecca Max and my skin is still happy and hydrated. Clinique's moisture surge products were good, but there are cheaper alternatives that do the job just as well. Hope this is helpful.
