e.l.f Mineral Infused Primer

When I was first introduced to iherb, this product seemed to be a popular choice, and after reading the reviews on this item, I thought it was worth a try.

The ELF primer comes in a small hard plastic cylinder, and uses a pump to dispense the product. I actually love this method because it so easy to use, and easy to control how much product is released. The only thing about the design that isn’t great is that when you disassemble the container, you can see there is not actually as much primer are you think there is as the cylinder which actually holds the product is very small, and sits inside a much bigger cylinder which makes you think you’re getting a lot for your money.

The primer is clear in colour, and has a thick consistency. When smoothed over skin, it leaves skin feeling very smooth and I think this product almost has a silicon texture to it. I find a little more than a pea size amount is enough for full coverage of my face.

I let the primer set for a few minutes before I apply my foundation, and I find as a primer it works reasonably well. My foundation lasts the majority of the day, but not the whole day before it starts slipping and sliding. And if the day is really hot, the primer starts slipping a lot earlier in the day. On negative about this product is that when I touch my face, I feel like the silicon feel of the primer transfers onto my hands, which I don’t like.

For the price of this primer, it’s worth a try. I have to say it’s nowhere near my favourite primer, but I keep it in the back of my makeup table for a back-up.

This was the first primer I used and I loved it! It's so smooth and soft on my face and my makeup goes on much more evenly when I use it. You don't need a lot and its so affordable! I was skeptical about primer for a while but now I wouldn't put makeup on without it. I have used the green one for redness also and I didn't feel it did anything for my redness but still an awesome primer. I would highly recommend it! Makes my skin silky smooth! :) I have also tried the max factor primer but this one wins hands down!

I have to say that the thing I love most about all elf products is how affordable they are. At only $6 you can't really complain. For the price this primer is great quality. I have the primer in clear and I've found that it has decent coverage, good consistency and gives you a smooth surface when applied. I've tried some high end primers before which are only marginally better and almost 7 or 8 times the price. For anyone looking for an affordable primer that is still really good quality I recommend this range (the colour correcting green one is also fabulous).

I have never used a primer before, so I tried the e.l.f primer as a starter because of the price (only $6). The gel feels like silicone and I use only one pump to cover my whole face.

The primer makes my face really smooth (seriously like silk) and makes applying pressed powder a lot easier e.g. it spreads across my face more smoothly and evenly. It also makes my powder last a lot longer during the day.

I started using the primer with BB Cream and pressed powder. But I feel like it's a bit much with the BB cream as well, so I use the primer with powder when I am going for a more natural look.

Unfortunately I am not a fan of the smell (chemically) but that is covered up by the smell of pressed powder/foundation. I also don't really think it helps with enlarged pores and fine lines.

But for the price, it is definitely worth it if you are just looking to make applying makeup easier and make it last longer.

1 pump and that's all I need for my face and neck. It makes my skin smooth and fills in those little creases so when I put my foundation on it looks even and smooth. I've never used a primer before but this one sure is a good one :)

I'm very much on the fence with this one. I didn't hate it, but it didn't really impress me either.

As has been mentioned in other reviews, the packaging is a bit of a trick and there's actually a very small amount of it in the tube. I didn't read the capacity when I ordered it though and it was very cheap, so I have no real complaints there. It may be something for others to bear in mind though. I liked the style of pump dispenser for limited waste of product.

This primer has a really nice, refreshing scent to it and it glided on smoothly. It didn't feel too slimy and left the surface of my skin feeling very smooth in preparation for makeup.

The overall finish at first felt and looked very flawless with my regular foundation on top but, as the day went on, I don't think my base lasted any better than it normally would. I occasionally skip this step of my makeup routine when I'm in a huge hurry and I honestly don't know for sure whether it made a great deal of difference.

For that reason, I just can't get excited about this one. It hasn't really made a difference for me, for better or worse.

This is the first e.l.f product I've used and I'm glad to say I loved it.

It has the same finish as my smashbox primer - almost powdery finish. I couldn't help but touch my face afterwards (as I normally would with any good primer)

It didn't do much in terms of reducing pore size. Nor did I find my makeup lasting as long as it normally would - but it wasn't far off!

I have extreme combo skin and my oily T-Zone was much the same as it normally is and same with my dry patches. So in terms of combating these issues, I would say this doesn't help at all.

I can and will say however, that I love the PRICE! I mean.... $76 compared to $6!? Seriously good.

On lazy days I will use this primer instead of my ultra expensive smashbox one. It's nice to have this when you don't want to run out of the good stuff so quickly!

For a first time primer user this was pretty great! It smoothed out areas that I did have large pores making them less visible when my foundation was one. However I still had a problem with dry/flaky skin in some areas.

I have to say though it made my skin feel amazingly soft and smooth.

To be honest this is the very first primer I've used so I cant compare to how it works against other primers. Firstly, just a few wee bad points..there isn't a lot of product in this container, I didn't read the amount that's in it I just judged off the size of the bottle, which is a bit of a trick since there's just a smaller tube inside the bottle that's full of product. I've also found it's hard to find in store, every Kmart I've been to is sold out most of the time but it can be bought online so that's alright. Now the good stuff! The product itself is really nice and smooth, you don't need much of it to cover your face and you only need to wait a couple minutes for it to dry enough to then apply your foundation. It definitely helps to control the oil on my face but it doesn't disguise some of my larger than life pores! All in all I'll purchase this primer again, for the price of it there really isn't much to complain about.

Ok so its my first time buying and trying a primer. So i will give my most honest review as i can. I had to seek some recommendations from a friend of mine that sells make up and she gave me a few to bring home and try for a few weeks. This primer out of the three grabbed my full attention, not only was it silky silky smooth when applying but it doesn't have a heavy feel to it like the others which made me want to rub it off. Anyway i waited for mine to dry first and then i applied my foundation later like my friend had said. I could absolutely say that at that point i knew i had been doing my makeup so wrong for some time hehehe. I was blown away with the smooth coverage and hold that this product was allowing the rest of my makeup to do. mY Eye shadows sit right and hold longer and when i had asked my friend how much was it going to cost me i thought she was going to say my soul because of the quality. But she said i could get it for like $9....woah what a steal. I stand by this product because it helped cover a few of my large pores without showing through after my foundation and the fine lines from under my eyes. Thank you e.l.f
