Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara Review

I think this came out quite recently, I remember seeing a poster of it and thinking, 'this looks promising!' So the adventurer in me decided to try it out even though I already have a couple staple mascaras.

The formula of this is very thin. It's almost liquid as opposed to the thicker gel like texture I'm used to. The only bad thing about this is that my lashes instantly lose their curl when I wear this. With thicker mascaras like One by One, my lashes can stay curled despite the mascara. This somehow makes my lashes flop back down again. And because I wear glasses, they end up sweeping all over my glasses like a mini black paint brush.

The applicator brush is a nice shape, with one side with short bristles and one side with longer bristles. The brush is a plastic one, and slightly curved to fit the shape of the eyelid. I really like the smaller side because it helps get into the base of my lashes and also my bottom lashes.

This isn't the best at staying. On days where I'm sweating a lot it'll start to smudge after a while. But for a day indoors with no major movement this is great.

Overall I think this is most suited to daytime use, when you don't want to have thick falsie like lashes. This gives a very natural look with slight volume. The only thing to beware of is it'll straighten out your lashes if they're curled.

When I saw this this on sale at Farmers, I decided to buy it and give it a go. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to perform that well, but this mascara exceeded my expectations!

The applicator is a fan shape with individual bristles. I found that it worked really well to deliver long, separated lashes with a little bit of volume. I never had any problems with clumping or smudging. The formula wasn't too wet and I never had any issues when applying this mascara, unlike some others that I've used.

One side of the applicator has smaller bristles, which are meant to be used on your lower lashes. I don't find this side all that effective, so I generally use the long bristles for everything.

There is one thing that annoys me about this product, which is the packaging. The base of it is very slim, so sometimes when I try to stand it up it falls over. However I still love everything else about this product, and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I will definitely be repurchasing this mascara soon!

The packaging – comes a dusty pink, metallic looking tube, brilliantly designed. I love the sleek packaging of this mascara.

The mascara is lovely. I find the formula is a bit wet and light. It has a unique open fan brush applicator which features a fan like head. It has shorter plastic bristles on one side (to apply mascara at the root of lashes) and longer bristles on the other (to sweep through lashes all the way the tips).

The light formula helps to achieve a natural looking lashes, It does not make my lashes stiff or looking crunchy. I find this mascara very quick and easy to apply. One coat adds great amount of volume and length. It does an excellent job of creating full, voluminous lashes and lasts all day.

I have never experienced flaking or smudging with this mascara. The formula is build-able, the mascara does not clump my eyelashes. My lashes are perfectly separated and look amazing. I especially really like how it looks on my bottom lashes. It was also easy to remove this mascara.

If you are like me and prefer a light mascara, definitely give this one a try. I would definitely repurchase and highly recommend it.

This is a alright mascara for me. I have really short lashes that go downward so mascara doesn't do much for me at all. Although this mascara did lengthen my lashes it didn't really hold the curl. However this was probably my eyelashes and it should work better if you have longer lashes naturally.

Guys, I think this might be it! My holy grail search for a mascara has ended!

This mascara has done everything for me and beyond, and I am not exaggerating at all. I always evaluate mascara to a very strict set of criteria

- does it hold curl?

- is it ACTUALLY waterproof?

- does it separate lashes and not make them clump looking?

- does it add length and volume equally?

Maybelline Lash Sensational did all of the above - it seems like the perfect combination of the mascaras that I love but aren't 100%. Think CG clump crusher but with curl, L'Oreal Million lashes with non-flakiness, and most importantly the fail-proof Maybelline waterproof formula!

Okay so lets get into why this is mascara is so good! The brush is curved with rubber (not bristley) bristles which makes each lash evenly coated and defined. The tapered shape allows for amazing coverage for the outer lashes as well.

But wait! One side of the brush also has these shorter length bristles which are the perfect length for lower lashes so you don't stab your eye - what is this magic?!

Okay next is the formula - true to the amazing waterproof mascaras that maybelline produces this is no different. The formula is actually waterproof (so great for contact lens wearers), holds a curl. doesn't make your lashes crispy looking and most importantly doesn't clump!

I love this mascara so much, I can't believe I waited this long to try it out!

I love mascara any mascara any colour just mascara in general really... And this is by far the best!!!! A few weeks ago I tried the younique fibre lash and my eyelashes fell out (not all) on one eye kind of in the middle... So I've been trying to find a mascara that still makes my eyelashes look full and this does the job to a T

I purchased this mascara after hearing great things. My Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara had arrived and I was disappointed, so I needed something that I could get my hands on quickly, without spending too much money. Maybelline is perfect - it is affordable and available at the supermarket.

The packaging is a standard Maybelline size and shape, but more classier and feminine than their past mascaras. It is solid and easy to hold. The brush is unlike any other mascara brushes I have used or seen - it is quite small, thin and plastic. The bristles are short and spiky, not 'fluffy' like most other Maybelline mascaras. You can see the bristles very clearly, they don't have mascara clumped on them.

This mascara performs.. well. Good, but not great. I like it, but don't love it. It separates and lengthens my lashes and there is zero clumping or fall out. It is a deep black and lasts all day. It is easy to apply and can be built up. However there is no wow factor for me, I wasn't amazed at my lashes, but they certainly looked nice.

I probably won't repurchase this mascara, simply because I would like to keep searching for my holy grail, however this is likely to be more a case of personal preferences and individual needs.

I really like this mascara. I have tried a lot of brands, with varying kinds of brushes, and the brush on this is really good. I have funny lashes that stick out at various angles, and my lashes are also various lengths. Having 2 different lengths of bristles on the wand really does help reach all the awkward lashes, and to fan them out into a nice arch.

The product is good. It is nice and thick, and does not dry out too quickly and flake, like other mascaras I have used.

I really wasn't a fan of this mascara when I first started using it, it was sooo wet and the brush really just isn't my cup of tea, it's curved and plastic with pretty sparse bristles so this combo would leave my lashes all stuck together and the end result made me look like I had 5 lashes per eye.

I then tried it with a different mascara brush and much preferred the result. It provides a good bit of volume and length without pesky clumps that can come with drier formulas. At this point I think how well a mascara works for you is just as much to do with the brush as it is the formula.

I love this mascara because even though I got the non-waterproof version it doesn't transfer/flake etc. It is a bit of a struggle to get off, so it may as well be waterproof, haha. It doesn't hold a curl very well on its own but I use my Estee Lauder mascara primer underneath mascaras for curl 99% of the time anyway.

The pink packaging is super cute and I will repurchase if it's on sale, as it's not a mascara I need, but it is good.
