I absolutely adore this product. It nourishes my lips as it adds a natural tint. It's not over the top lip colour so really good for someone who is starting to use lip colour or for someone who wants something for every day use. Nothing beats Burt's Bees original Beeswax Lip Balm, but this comes in at a close second.

Tips: Have it in your purse as a staple for any days you can't be bothered doing a full face of makeup but want a little something extra. Team with a pair of shades and voila!
I'm not a fan of wearing lipstick everyday. I would much prefer to wear a tinted balm. Hence the purchase...
I loved the colour, it was nice and the options are great. The texture was nice for me, I liked the little slip. The taste was... waxy... For a balm (where people are licking lips constantly) there should be at least a pleasant taste.
This is an excellent lip balm. I have used it twice and it does an amazing job at keeping my lips really soft and smooth. It's a bit expensive compared to other lip balms but it does the job perfectly. And it has a little bit of colour.
I've heard great things about this lip balm and about the brand but usually never bought it due to it being alot more expensive than other lip balms. However, now that I've bought one- I can really feel the difference! My lips don't feel greasy yet the moisturising effect lasts for a really, really long time.
Tips: I like to use it before bed to moisturise my lips rather than during the day, under my lipstick due to the tint
I am reviewing the shade Hibiscus, upon opening the package i was a bit worried it would be a hot pink shade as indicated on the package but it is actually a beautiful peachy corally rose tone. This is actually a very good replacement for my beloved and now discontinued Blistex Liptone which was a fleshy nude toned shimmer-free tinted balm. This applies smoothly and the tint is definitely there but still easy to apply without a mirror for ease of use. You can definitely feel the shea butter and coconut oils at work as it is very moisturising - has a bit of a waxy honey beeswaxy taste but I appreciate that it has no particular fragrance or sugary scent. A bit pricey for a balm but you are getting an organic product minus the chemical nasties of a regular lip product, plus it was long wearing only had to apply 3 times in one day which is great for a balm so you will use less than a regular balm. I do wish it had a sunscreen which is important in a balm for me - none is noted on the package but it does contain some titanium dioxide which might give a slight protection. I have tried wearing with a neutral lipliner and it gives an understated natural looking lip - perfect for a conservative work place. I love that there is no glitter in this. On it's own its great for those days where you just wear a bit of BB cream and mascara and run out the door.
Tips: wear over a lipliner for a more 'done' look.
Firstly let me say the packaging is simplistic but very cute. The tube came withing a larger cardboard tube and it really seemed to advertise that this was a natural, environmentally friendly product. I love that the company is concerned about being kind to the consumer, environment and to animals meaning that I would recommend it to a friend because it's important we're supporting this behaviour- companies need to be encouraged in these kind of aims. The lip balm colour was hibiscus and it was quite flattering. I didn't have any concerns with the smell (banana-ey almost) and the taste is to be expected of most balms. I found it to leave a bit of a greasy coat on my lips whereas I prefer it to absorb in. If my lips were extremely dry I don't think this product would be much use but it's good preventative wise. The only reason why I wouldn't use this again (after my tube has run out) is because of it's price. $18 is a little out of my price range when it comes to lip care.
Tips: Could be used as part of a pared down look- you know the whole t-shirt jeans little bit of mascara and concealer look. The tinted balm would bring it all together and add just the teensy bit of colour needed.
When I was 15, I bought a stick of Burt's Bees in Hawaii. It was my favourite thing in the world, I protected my Burt's Bees stick with my life and was DEVASTATED when it eventually got lost.
Burt's Bees is THAT good. I am delighted it is now widely available in New Zealand, and I don't have to buy the imitation. The lip tint is lovely.
The only downside is the colour selection isn't that great - i'd like to see a coral colour.
Tips: If you buy this lip balm - your man won't steal it! (big plus!!)
I love the packaging this came it. That on its own would be enough for me to buy it as a gift for someone. It had a great amount of colour when you applied it...but you have to be careful not to smear it all around the edges of your mouth since it applied like a lip balm. The texture is really nice and smooth, but without being sticky at all. I found one application stayed on my lips for a little over an hour which was great since I lick my lips pretty frequently. I wasn't a big fan of the colour I got which was Hibiscus. The colour on the packaging looked like something I would go for, but I found it a bit too orangy for my liking. If I had purchased it based on the colour of the packaging, I would have been dissapointed. If you like a bit of a orangy/pinky hue, it would be great. I have still worn it everyday and had comments that the colour looks very nice. Just not my preference. I couldn't see anywhere on the packaging that it has any sort of SPF covering so Im guessing it hasn't. That is a little dissapointing as it really is important in our climate. I don't think I would purchase it regularly as it is quite expensive compared to other lip balms :-( Overall, it has a lovely texture, and I loved that you only needed a gentle swipe of it to get the colour showing.
Tips: Be careful not to spread past your actual lips as the colour really shows up. Also, it would be awesome if they had testers at the shop as I didn't feel the colour was a true representation of what was on the packet.
I'm not really a fan of Burts - I found it to be too waxy in texture and felt like my lips were greasy. It smelt really weird and didn't taste nice. If it was lighter I would most likely try again, even though a natural product which I am all for a nice smell/taste wouldn't go a miss
This product gives my lips a subtle and natural looking tint as well as providing them with some moisture.
It is not as moisturising as other lip balms, but is pretty great for a tinted one (others I have used can be quite drying).
I find that I can build the colour up a little bit by applying a few coats, or just one swipe over the lips for a hint.
The packaging is nice and simple, quite natural looking which I like. Product smells and tastes quite nice.
