I didn't see that much could be wrong with this product that markets itself as able to clear away make up and impurities while leaving skin feeling clean and smooth. Well, unfortunately the strange scaly residue that was left behind on a couple of occasions (a bit like when you would put PVA glue on your hand as a child and peel it off for fun) was just too unpleasant to get over. It did remove eye makeup fairly effectively but the way my skin felt after was not for me.

Tips: Maybe just stick to using it as an emergency eye make up remover and don't use it on other parts of the face??
I have been a contact lense wearer since the age of 18, and had to always opt for waterproof eye makeup to prevent anything getting into my eyes and irritating the contact lenses. Removal of it always posed an issue at the end of the day, ad there were not many affordable products available. The water and oil solution is not new, Garnier has has a product on the market for years, but the Garnier Micellar Water in Oil for Delicate Eyes & Skin seems to have a much improved formula. It has a pleasant smell and comes in a 400ml bottle and the oil is a purple colour when separated from the water part of the product. Once you shake it, it easily mixes. Applied to a cotton bud, it easily removes makeup in one go. The eye area feels refreshed, clean and smooth.
Tips: It would be great to be able to get this in a travel size, because it would be more convenient than carrying around the 400ml bottle.
The product itself is amazing, gentle, cleansing and it also feels super hydrating! Makeup melts off- similar to the other micellar but this one feels so much more luxurious in texture, and the way it leaves the skin. My skin has been feeling softer and more nourished since using it. For the child in me I most loved the blue spacey colour at the top which dances into the rest of rhe bottle whenever I moved/ shook it. Certainly makes the shower more fun, and I have found myself looking forward to removing makeup for the first time ever!
Tips: Buy it now! If you are not used to using an oil on your skin, it may take a little more adjusting, to avoid overwashing the skin if it feels oilier than after a normal cleanse.
I love the soothing purplish colour, the beautiful scent, and how it removes my waterproof eye and lip makeup easily with no tugging and pulling. 2 cotton pads soaked with the product are needed to remove all my eye makeup.
Another 4-6 cotton pads are needed to remove my thin foundation, too much work needed. I probably would need 10 cotton pads if I’m wearing long wearing foundation! From what I’ve used so far I think the bottle isn’t going to last me 4 weeks. That and the need to use a lot of cotton pads make it much less cost effective and more work than my usual oil cleanser.
The bottle says “Non greasy - No rinse off” - on the contrary I find it’s too oily for my whole face, I still have to use gel cleanser afterwards. I suspect it’s also causing mini breakouts on my forehead and chin at the moment (I don’t normally have breakouts like that). Pity that, as I really like how it removes my waterproof eye makeup, thus the 4lippies rating. Maybe it should be marketed as an eye and lips makeup remover instead of for eyes and skin.
It is suitable for contact lens wearer, I find it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I’ll keep using it as eye and lips makeup remover but would stop using it on the rest of my face.
Tips: Very effective in removing waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, and waterproof lipstick.
Don’t use it for the whole face if you have sensitive/acne prone skin.
Packaging fits with the Garnier brand, feels young and more appealing to the younger market. Not so luxury. Lid is easy to open and dispense product though. Generous sized product at an affordable price point.
After shaking product well to mix the oil and water it easily soaks into a makeup remover pad. Application is easy and the product glides nicely over the skin. It easily removes makeup, including eye makeup without having to rub this delicate area. It was very gentle and didn't sting my eyes, which can be sensitive to products. I was also able to apply this product while wearing contact lenses with no issues.
After using, my skin didn't feel dehydrated nor too oily. My skin was in a nice condition to then moisturise.
My only qualm was the scent, not too overpowering but still not appealing to me.
Tips: Remove eye makeup first to ensure you don't inadvertently drag your skin makeup into your eyes. You will need to use a few makeup remover pads if removing makeup from eyes and face.
I was really excited to try out this Garnier Micellar water in oil as I have previously tried the other micellar waters from Garnier and they have all reacted with my skin.
I really like this one and I can recommend it to others with sensitive skin. I do see a major difference in this one compared to the previous ones too.
All of the other micellar waters have burned my skin, like literally left it with a burning sensation. This one hasn't done that. The only reaction I have had this time around is that it did react with the dry skin around the creases of both sides of my nose - but I do know that they can be easily irritated,
I love how easily this removes makeup. I didn't have to rub at all just apply and dab off. It didn't leave anything behind either. It also has a pleasant smell to it too.
Its very gentle especially on my eye area and removes eye makeup like a dream.
I believe this is the best micellar water yet from Garnier. A little goes a long way so I can see this lasting for a long time too.
Tips: If you have any broken or cracked skin- don't use the product near that area
Another addition by Garnier to their Micellar range. The packaging is similar to other Garnier Micellar bottles and comes in a decent 400ml bottle. The product needs a good shake before use so you get an even distribution of the oil and water otherwise you’ll just end up with a lot of oil on your cotton wipes/cloth. I do have dry and sensitive skin but this product is easy to use and quite gentle on the skin.I found that it was very easy to remove my make and especially waterproof mascara. I just needed a few wipes with out any hard rubbing and was able to get off my heavy eye make without much effort. It did not irritate my skin at all and did leave it feeling quite soft. However I did find that it left a greasy residue after use (so it certainly doesn’t dry out your skin) and even though it say no rinsing required, I had to use my foaming wash to get rid of the oily feel and achieve that complete clean feel. It does have a pleasant smell to it but personally I just like my cleansers to be fragrant free. ( but that’s no biggie, it just comes down to personal choice) Overall a good product and excellent makeup remover, however not a face cleanser. I will continue to use it for makeup removal but have to follow up with my normal face cleanser for a complete clean feel.
Tips: Would work well for heavy makeup wearers. Also I little bit of product goes a long way.
I have previously tried the normal version of Garnier's Micellar water and I thought it was a good product for someone who wore minimal makeup and just needed a good first cleanser. With the addition of oil, I found this product to be much more better at taking off stubborn makeup. I thought this did a better job at removing mascara and light-medium coverage foundation. The best part? You don't get that stingy sensation if you've got a sensitive eye area, and it's safe around contact lenses. In total, I probably wouldn't buy it again because I've already got a holy grail eye makeup remover but I would recommend it to my friends who don't wear the heavy duty makeup I do!
Tips: Soak the cotton pads with the water and hold it over your eyes for a 30 seconds. It'll help break down your eye makeup making it easier to wipe away.
I’ve been using this for 5 days now. Texture-light and a slight oily feel. I was slightly worried that this would be too greasy on my skin and was pleasantly surprised by how light it felt. Usage-with a cotton pad is best. Tried splashing onto my palms in the shower but no go! I’d go through 1-2 pads depending on how much makeup I had on it until there was no dirt left. After - really nice soft and supple feeling. Not greasy at all and I don’t find this heavy. Smell- light fragrance. Not overpowering and no difference from what you’d find from other supermarket or higher end brands.
Tips: If you’re after an all in one cleanser then this is well recommended. I have sensitive oily/dry skin and this worked beautifully for me. In saying that I’m still getting used to the concept of not using a traditional face cleanser so will stick to my trusted facial cleanser or will use this as a pre cleanser before my shower.
Very affordable price for the size you get and also the convenience if you want something quick fast yet gentle.
Overall I really enjoyed this product. I found it as, if not more, effective than the regular Garnier Micellar water (which I use daily!), probably because of the oil component. It worked wonders getting off stubborn and waterproof eye makeup!
The one drawback with this version of the Garnier micellar water, though, was that I did find that it left a bit of an oily residue. No huge drama as I usually double cleanse my face anyway, but I didn't think that it *quite* lived up to the "no residue" claim.
I have sensitive skin and am a contact lens wearer, and I found that this was nice and gentle on my skin, and I was comfortable using it to remove eye makeup while still wearing my contacts. I would use this again and recommend it to a friend looking for an effective but gentle micellar water-based makeup remover.
Tips: Make sure to shake the bottle up really well before each use!
