A'kin Daily Shine Shampoo

Thank you for the opportunity to try this product. The shampoo has a clear gel-like consistency. Manufacturer might want to check the seal system as my seals came off and was stuck in the lids, no need to remove.

Shampoo has a herbal smell, not overpowering at all. Does the job but on the second day after wash my hair was super oily even though I thoroughly rinsed. Also, might just be my grey hair but I cant really see a shine.

Will continue use to see if anything changes.

I have hair that is dry on the ends and oily on the roots and have found this shampoo works pretty well for me.

The shampoo has a decent lather even though it is more of a ‘natural’ product/brand. If you’re used to supermarket shampoos you may find a difference in the lather with this product. I found it sufficiently lifts the oils off my roots but maybe not quite as much as I want. However a big bonus is that it doesn’t dry out the ends like some other shampoos can.

I really like the smell of this product. It doesn’t cling to my hair once it’s washed but that is my preference.

The packaging looks quite smart but the bottle is long so if you have a small recess shelf in your shower, beware it may not fit!

It’s super important to me that the products I use are cruelty free and this is - it’s also vegan. Also bonus points for the bottle being made of recycled plastic.

I haven’t really noticed any additional shine to my hair but my hair is light so you might have a more noticeable effect with dark hair.

Overall, a good shampoo for the price point from an ethical brand.

I have tried some A'Kin products before and found them very gentle but effective.

This shampoo comes in a large 375 ml plastic bottle with a flip top that you should technically be able to squeeze the product out of. It didn't work like that for me. the product is a very thick clear gel, that doesn't squeeze through the perforation. But that's not a deal breaker, it's easy to get out if you remove the lid.

The gel melts into my hair and spreads easily but does not foam up. Again, not a deal breaker, foam or not is not an issue for me. So all of those things are fine. What I don't like is the smell. I don't know which of the ingredients it is, but it reminds me of my intense dislike for calendula and has the same cloying effect on me.

The product is gentle and leaves my hair clean and soft, and I also like that it is clear so it doesn't stain my white hair. If you like shampooing your hair every day then this would be gentle enough not to do any damage.

It's a great product except for the smell, which others may like. Price-wise, it seems to be around $21.99 which is a bit steep but it is 100% Vegan, Sulphate & Silicone Free, and has 100% recycled packaging, which are all strong selling points. It is not made in NZ which is something of a negative, but Australian made products are generally pretty good from my experience. So overall, if you like the smell, this is a great product for you.

A'kin Daily Shine Shampoo impressed me totally. Its packaging is perfect, a tall 'bottle' with a secure top that never leaks and dispenses frugal amounts of product with simplicity. The shampoo has correct consistency and is clear-coloured.

The fragrance is very fresh (I cannot decide what it is, perhaps the Jojoba Oil?) and a minimal amount of the shampoo thoroughly lathers hair. This washes off very easily awaiting conditioner application.

Certainly my hair feels well washed and I can maintain my every-second-day washing routine, although this product is not at all harsh and daily would be no issue. It is an economical shampoo and the 375ml container will last for a long time. That container can be stored upside down too as the supply dwindles, no hassle in pouring out the last morsel.

I am very convinced of its quality, thank you A'kin.

I've only used popular salon branded shampoo, conditioner and treatments for the last 20+ years - but am now exploring and discovering how effective natural products can be. So this trial could not have come at a better time! Packaging is lovely - clear bottle, white press lid and deep green labelling around. Generous 375ml bottle. Scent is devine...smells very much like my Dr. Hauschka products, herbal but in the best way. The liquid is clear and consistency is very much like any generic shampoo. It lathers much like most of my shampoos too. On first use I only washed once with shampoo before conditioner. Hair was clean, smelt beautiful and overall was happy - to be honest no real difference from my usual shampoo (which is fantastic considering I only use what is widely considered "the best" on the market). I have only one gripe with this product and its with the packaging - I've had it at the bottom of my shower and water gathers in the lid. So when I picked it up and popped open the lid I initially thought the consistency was like water to then realise what was going on. But easy fix was to elevate it onto one of my shower shelves. Overall - I like this product! I didn't notice an increase in shine or an instantly smoother finish - but my hair was clean, smelt great and was happy with the finished result. Time will tell how it performs teamed up with the conditioner on my hair's condition long term but very excited to start my natural hair care journey.

Really loved this shampoo. I avoid harsh sulfates, so really appreciated this product used a mild surfactant. As a result I felt this product had low foam - but I have used low foaming shampoos for a while so this doesn't bother me and I always double shampoo. I loved the fragrance - it smelt like ginger to me, and the bottle was really easy to open and use in the shower. Appreciate that the bottle and lid are both made from 100% recycled plastic. Hair felt super clean but not stripped to feeling rough or over cleansed.

I have mixed feelings about this shampoo. The shampoo, although it has a lovely fragrance, I found that I needed to use a lot more than my normal shampoo to get a good lather, and I needed to wash it twice for it to feel really clean. Once my hair was dry, it definitely looked shiny but it seemed more frizzy than normal with alot of flyaway hairs. Felt dry too. Fantastic ingredient list. But not suited to my hair style.

High recommend this Shampoo, usually not fussed on Natural shampoos as they normally don't have a good smell and don't lather up like a normal Shampoo but this was the opposite. This has a nice smell and not the overpowering plant kind of smell, only need a small amount as this lathers up ALOT. I have very oily hair and normally have to wash my hair every second day and Shampoo twice every time but with this i can get away with Shampoo once and every 3-4 days for washing and that's with going to the Gym everyday too.

The shampoo did make my hair shine from the first use - my husband also used it and said the same thing. However, we both felt that we had to use twice as much as we do with our usual shampoo, it may be because it was more gel like. I also found that the perfume was more masculine, although not unpleasant. It did make my hair feel clean and soft and definitely looked shiny.

I have not got a lot of knowledge or experience with natural products but if this A'kin shampoo is an example I am all for it. It comes in a long bottle that is easy to grasp in the shower and a push top lid. The shampoo is clear and gel like which is nice to apply. I found the shampoo lathered up really well and the scent is amazing. I know it has cedarwood ,geranium and patchouli as a base however to me it smelt more like sage and rosemary. The scent is so nice but not overpowering and stays in my hair afterwards which is lovely. I used for a couple of washes on it's own without the conditioner so I could judge the shampoo on it's own merits and was pleasantly surprised with the results as I always use conditioner.With just the shampoo my hair was soft and shiny and nice and light. it did have a good shine. I felt my hair still needed a conditioner but I was impressed with how my hair feels with just the shampoo. I prefer pump style bottles but in this case even the lid and the bottle is able to be recycled so that is another plus.
