Clarins Calm-Essentiel Soothing Emulsion

I don't think I can rave about this product enough!

I've never used Clarins before, but I am familiar with the brand. I think of it as being high end and quite pricey - but I'm happy to confirm it is worth the money!

The packaging: Is functional and simple. I read up a little online to get more information on what to use, when, but there is some info on the packaging. It feels sturdy and the pump lid secure.

The formula: It smells quite earthy/natural. Being for sensitive skin I'm glad it isn't really strongly scented. It's a light and easily absorbed product - it just seems to melt in to the skin.

The effects: After use my skin feels soft and moisturised and really soothed. There's no sign of irritation.

Final Thoughts: I would recommend this as a staple moisturiser for those with sensitive skin.

I love Clarins. It's been in and out of my budget for many many years. When I saw they had a new calming range, I jumped at the chance as my skin has become reactive over the past year. It needed a reset, and this is exactly what this Sensitive Skin Care Clairns range aims to do. The Calm-Essentiel Soothing Emulsion with Clary Sage is packaged in the traditional Red and White Clarins box, and comes in a 50ml pump tube. Box has information on Clary Sage benefits, ingredients, commitments of the product which include formula, effectiveness, packaging sustainability, emulsion benefits and use. This can used morning and/or evening, and recommends adding a few drops of Restoring Treatment Oil. As I was using another product in the range in the morning (Redness Correcitve Gel), I chose to use this in the evening (with and without the treatment oil to compare). The tube needs an initial couple of pumps to get going, and dispenses a pea-sized amount of light cream. Immediately cooling on the skin at application, this feels soothing, skin feels instantly hydrated. I used two pumps as my skin has been very dry and tight across the cheeks, exacerbated by hormones and acid/active-based skin care in the past year. Within a week of use, I could feel my skin being restored, no longer less reactive to environment and make up, and more hydrated. Liquid foundation was easier to apply, no longer leaving drag marks over my cheeks. After two weeks, inconjunction with using the two other products in this range, my skin is definitely less fragile, less sensitive, much more hydrated and soothed. I have switched to a lighter mineral foundation as my skin looks fresher, calmer, and more even in tone. The only thing I can find an issue with is it smells different to other clarins products I've used over the past 2 decades, but that's a personal thing, it's not an unpleasant fragrance, just more herbally.

Having used this twice a day in place of my normal moisturiser I have found my skin feeling softer, more nourished and smooth. It goes on easily and only a small amount goes a long way. I really enjoy this product

The consistency is light and can be spread easily on my skin, there is a push applicator, it took a few pumps for the cream to get out, but now works great.I love the fragrance, not too overpowering. I have noticed my skin is less red and this lasts all day. I do not like the packaging, clarins have too much writing on their packaging, i find it hard to find the English instructions. Very pricey.

Wow, wow, wow, the Clarins Calm-Essentiel Soothing Emulsion is amazing. I have very dry and sensitive skin due to medication and have not been able to find anything to work on my skin until now. The soothing emulsion immediately makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. I also found that mixing it with 2 drops of the restoring treatment oil, made it go further and my skin more soft and hydrated. I highly recommend anyone with sensitive skin trying this product.

This white lotion is soothing and moisturising. The fluidity is not runny and not thick...it is just right. The smell is absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't aggravate my skin and leaves it with just the right level of moisture. The bottle has a pump dispenser and two pumps is enough to cover my face, neck and decolletage.

This is a fantastic moisturizer, I am so happy with the results I have from it. My skin has been a lot drier now that is has turned into the colder months. As soon as I started using this on my skin I could feel an instant hydration and feel suppleness to my skin. I have also applied it to my hands because they have felt the same dryness and they feel so much better. I love the way my skin absorbs it quickly and I have no sticky residue left on my skin which is great. The bottle it comes in is perfect, the pump gives you the ability to have no wastage and the design of it means no product would go unused. The only downside i have with this product is the fragrance. I find it very strong and can smell it for a good while after use which is slight annoying but the results of this are so good I can definitely over look it.

I have fallen in love with the new range of Clarins Calm-Essentiel products. I have never used an emulsion before and the Clarins Calm Essentiel Soothing Emulsion has transformed the feel and nourishment of my skin. My skin has become more sensitive as the years progress with fine lines, dryness and redness sneaking in. After a summer of sun, my skin was seeking a rest.

The Clarins Calm Essentiel soothing emulsion comes in a tube with a pump at the bottom, very easy to use and practical for the perfect amount of product. I used this soothing emulsion in two ways - in the morning prior to putting on my makeup and often in the evening with a few drops of the restoring treatment oil added. My skin quickly absorbed the product and it felt immediately nourished.

I love that you can use this twice a day if you feel you need to or just once a day to add that extra nourishment for when your skin needs a "drink". It certainly has made a difference in my appearance and the feel of my skin.

I love that this is an easy routine to get into, especially when the results are outstanding. Highly recommended to anyone with aging, dry or sensitive skin. The products in this range are gentle and with all the natural ingredients I felt like I wasn't added unnecessary chemicals or additives to my skin.

This comes in a fairly plain cardboard box, white with red font with no pretty pictures - easy to see what is in the box with print on the box. Inside is a tube but with a pump which I think is great! Much easier to use, it has a cap so you can stand the tube up on the sink, again a great feature.

I used this emulsion twice daily, in the morning after the corrective gel and before makeup then in the evening after cleansing. At night I added some drops of the Restoring Treatment Oil as well as suggested by Clarins. I must say that I loved the smell of this product! Even my 8 year old daughter and my partner both mentioned that liked smell on my skin :)

It definitely made my skin feel "calmer" as soon as I applied it and also felt really soft and smooth after application. This emulsion has most certainly helped with my irritated skin but has also improved the texture of my skin yay!

I will continue to use this emulsion every day as I'm sure it will keep improving, I really like this product but again price wise it really would be above my budget HOWEVER it is a product that I would definitely consider saving up to buy again that's how much I love it!

I was fortunate to trial this product. This cream comes in a plastic pump bottle with a plastic lid. I have sensitive combination skin and it often difficult to find products that suit my skin. I used this product daily in the morning after I have cleansed my face with a different product and brand. It was easy to apply and absorbed quickly into my skin. It left my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized. With other products I have experienced overly shiny skin however I was very pleased that this Clarins product didn’t leave my skin looking shiny or greasy. I tend to get dryness around my nose and I have noticed that this has started to go away too. I am prone to breakouts, especially when using products, however my skin didn’t react negatively to this product, which was amazing. This product has a subtle scent to it that smells fresh. I often used the restoring treatment oil after. Definitely a must try product for people with sensitive skin.
