Thayers Cucumber Alcohol-Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera

The bottle is quite striking but I'm a bit of a sucker for things that look they've been around for years! It's kind of reassuring that they are good - and this is.

It's got a typical toner consistency - like water! But the flip top lid with a small opening means ots goes only where you direct it not everywhere!

Pop some on a (reasuable) cotton pad and wipe - easy as that but so different from any other toner I've tried. I was a little worried by the witch hazel element (strong smell, skin feeling on fire and tight) but there was no of that. It left my skin clean and feeling moisturised.

The smell is lovely - just pure cucumber and not the chemically version.

I've been using this twice a day for nearly two weeks and haven't used very much at all so for $16-$17 it seems like it will be very good value.

I always have red patches, I go red at the drop of a hat but it really seems to have helped with that. I had a family bereavement during the trail and had a very red puffy face and eyes and it dramatically helped reduce that - even in my eyes! And yes, probably not designed to be used on eyes, but there was no stinging or soreness!

I would absolutely recommend this. I'll be hunting it (and the other versions) down to buy!

I'm not a stranger to Thayers products, my OG toner used to be the Thayers Rose Petal toner when I used to live overseas, and I'm glad Thayers is now available in NZ. Glad to be part of the trial team for this, or I wouldn't have known otherwise!

I like the value and size of this product (355ml), you can use it generously twice a day and will last you several months. You can even decant some onto a spray bottle as a face mist to freshen up on hot afternoons.

Formula is alcohol-free so it doesn't sting or dry out the skin. The ingredient list is pretty good - cucumber and aloe vera are both soothing for the skin, and witch hazel helps with acne-prone skin without being harsh and drying.

I've been using this toner every morning and night since I received it for review and it has been very refreshing and soothing on my skin. My skin is very sensitive (eczema) and it has not had any adverse reactions so far. I've found that my skin feels more moisturised which will be great in winter. The aloe vera in this toner will also be very handy in summer for the inevitable sunburn! The scent is like cucumber and smells quite natural which is a nice change from artificial fragrances. The bottle is quite large and seems like it will last for a long time. The instructions say to apply with a cotton pad but I found it works just as well by squirting toner into your hands and applying to the face - less waste that way. Overall would definitely recommend to anyone, I love it and will definitely be buying another bottle when this one (eventually!) runs out

This toner is quite nice and comes in a huge bottle that feels like it will last an entire year. Skin feels refreshed and smooth. Im just not sure on the fragrance of cucumber personally I think about it every-time I use it like feels strange having a vegetable scent on my face. Some people might love it though! I like how the toner comes in a decent sized bottle and the lid allows the right amount of product to come out. No product is wasted. The fragrance is not over powering at all, more of a watered down cucumber smell. I used a cotton pad to apply each time, and it left my face feeling refreshed and clean. This toner is infused with cucumber and aloe vera and is alcohol free which is why my face was not left feeling sticky after using. I did not notice any difference in my pores but I did notice I had no dry skin which I usually get in colder months. Great for cleansing!

I have noticed that it also has removed more makeup that I thought it had washed away, so it feels super clean but still not dry. I have noticed that my skin looks smoother and cleared up some stubborn acne. It definitely helps to remove any excess oil or dirt from my face. It's great to use when you just need a touch-up and feel fresher. This toner is something I will definitely purchase when this has run out, absolutely a fan of this one!

The smell won me over instantly but I really enjoyed the whole experience of using this toner. It made my skin feel soft and helped my skintone even out. I liked how gentle it was, I am happy to have discovered it because so many toners these days have lots of chemicals but that's what I have serums for. I'll definitely be repurchasing!

Really cool bottle… makes you feel like an 1800’s potion master!! Decent amount held in bottle. Easy clip top. Firstly, why use toner when most skincare situations have everything toner is made for included ? Secondly, I do need to keep up using so I can see if pore tightening/ skin hydration is worth diving into the world of toner. Can’t say I’ve noticed anything other than more cotton rounds in the bin. Is it worth it? Nope? Do modern skincare products make toner invalid? Yes? Would I purchase again? No. Do I like it? Yes?
