I looove these. The colours are so pigmented. So many great colours to choose from. I use cashmere like everyday. I'm loving them the packaging & the box it comes in so cute. I am going to do another order online very soon so keen to try out the new colours especially faded. They are very drying I always apply lip balm first. But I do still get really dry lips afterwards & end up having to use lip balm all the time

Absolutely loved the colour selection, and the pigmentation from the Veletines, only down fall is that they left my lips insanely dry and chapped. And I always use a lip balm or primer before hand, but still my lips would dry out within a few hours.
I have a found a few dupes which are cheaper and don't leave my lips as dry.
I am in love with my Lime Crime Velvetine in the colour Wicked. It's bold, daring and has a depth of colour that I have found hard to compare to any other product I have tried. It's goes on so smooth and creamy but dries to a velvet finish - without drying your lips. This stuff is long lasting and could even be considered a stain. I wear it on stage when I sing and it stands up to the microphone test where I need only to touch up after each set. This however is where my sadness comes in. Lime Crime have stopped selling their products in NZ and I have heard a rumour that they made have shut up shop altogether? Eeek what to do?!!
Tips: Now would be the time to buy up any last product you see floating around.
I have pink and red velvet and the colour/pigmentation is so bright and gorgeous! I only wear them on special occasions since they are so out there. They feel dry on your lips but then its a liquid to matte product so thats what you expect when buying it. They last ages and look amazing :)
Tips: Apply some lip balm or gloss after its dried to stop it feeling really dry
I have this in red velvet (perfect blue-based red), but if it is easy to buy in NZ I would buy other shades too. It applies wet and dries to a semi-matte/satin finish.Definitely transfer proof and long-wearing once it dries.I naturally have dry and chapped lips and this product is very forgiving. I have tried other similar products that even if I exfoliate and moisturise my lips after about 4 hours, my lips flaked. This, I can wear up to 8 hours with no flaking, probably more if I don't eat, but I wouldn't do that. :) Packaging is frosted glass which made the product more sophisticated. Definitely a must-have for me.
Tips: Use a lipliner if you're new to this product. A little goes a long way, if you put too much on your lip then this product will bleed whilst still wet, and when it dries outside of your lips, its very difficult to remove. Can only be removed by oil-based makeup remover. Also be careful when eating oily/greasy food, the oil in them will move this product.
These were my first liquid matte lippies. This is more of a tattoo lippy. Super pigmented but really drying. However the colours available are absolutely AMAZING! Have the whole collection and find suedeberry, pink velvet and rave to be my least favourite only because the Color doesn't suit my skin tone. Other than that these are my go to lippies to add drama to my natural look. Awesome utensil to have if leaving work and going out for drinks str8 after.
Tips: These only come off with oil so if eating out, do carry wipes or be prepared to apply a brand to coat as it bleeds out and gets a tad messy. HIGHLY suggest finding a liner and lining the lips to stop the bleeding. This lippy does bleed after a certain period. VERY drying so keep lip balm on hand.
I was so excited to jump on the Lime Crime bandwagon ordering my first liquid matte lipstick "Pink Velvet". Firstly, the packaging is super cute and girly and I loved the pretty packaging it came in.
This shade is gorgeous and super bright, it's great for more dramatic looks. The wand is super easy to use and I rarely reach for the lip liner when using this product.
The cream is completely matte and can look a little dry on the lips, I like to apply my lip balm first. This lipstick lasts all day long and doesn't rub off when drinking/eating which I love. I also purchased "Black Velvet" which I love to bits but did stain my lips a little, otherwise both great purchases.
Tips: The Black Velvet shade is great as an emergency eyeliner.
So I got my hands on the Red Velvet for a wedding I was involved in, the bride wanted rich red lips, and I wanted to not have to touch up my lipstick all night long. This was definitely the product for me. The colour was amazing, and it most definitely was not budging! Initially the smell was pleasant, but after using it for a while it got a bit sickly. Luckily it only has a scent for the first few mins while applying.
It looked amazing, and as I said, didn't require any touching up. By the time we were having photos done, all the other bridesmaids were begging to use it.
My problem, the reason I felt conflicted, was due to all the drama surrounding the brand. I don't like the fact I am supporting someone who is obviously not an honest businesswoman. But I cannot deny that the colour payoff and overall effect of her products are amazing
The Matt velvetines look fabulous, and this red really did suit every single skin tone. It can be a bit tricky to get right, you have to be very precise, but once you've got it, well its pretty amazing. It is perfect for overdrawing, and even looks great with another colour or gloss swiped across the top of it.
If someone came to me looking for a universal red, with super staying power, I would not hesitate to recommend it. But I would definitely give them a heads up on the companies less than stellar reputation
Tips: Use a lip brush, at least for the outline, be precise and then fill the lips in. Use concealer and a thin brush to tidy up afterwards, and always make sure to exfoliate the lips well before using. It will show every dry, flaky detail if you don't.
These are lovely liquid to matte lippies. I have the colours Suedeberry (my personal fave), Red Velvet, Wicked, Utopia, Salem.
They apply as liquid with an easy to use applicator and dry matte. These lippies do not move all day. I usually reapply about mid day after eating but it isn't necessary. Every time im wearing one I get compliments (esp utopia, suedeberry and red velvet).
The packaging is lovely as are the colour options, I'd love to get a few more!
If I were to say anything slightly negative about the velvetines it would be that they smell a bit off? My Utopia smells so strange that I cringe when I apply it but the smell goes once dry!
Tips: I personally use a lip brush for very precise lines :)
I love these velvetines, lovely colours and pigmentation. Only thing is the price is quite steep and they dry your lips like crazy, they are definitely a product you'd use every so often (well they are for me) because having this lipstick on feels rather uncomfortable and the intensive treatments to repair your lips afterwards are too time consuming for me personally!!
Tips: make sure your lips are chapped before otherwise this lipstick wont adhere right and make sure to take care of your lips after to prevent them from being chapped, formula is rather drying :(
