Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Shampoo

Let's start with the pro's of this product: - The fragrance: Oh. My. Gosh. Think summer fruit cocktails at a bbq with friends. This fragrance is DIVINE, and smells almost good enough to drink (please refrain from doing this, but it is THAT good!). It's 96% Vegan and no 'nasties' which is always a good thing, especially when it comes to my precious mane. The promise of more volume came through, although there was a catch, see the not so great stuff paragraph below. You have to always give a product props when it delivers on its marketing promises. Value for money: I loved how little I needed of this product to get a good lather going and it made my hair feel squeaky clean. A little really does go a long way and one of these 350ml bottles would actually last me for weeks. Now for the not so great stuff: although this product delivered on its 'more volume' promise, unfortunately it came at the expense of softness and shine. By the end of the trial period my hair was noticeably 'rougher' and a lot less shiny than normal. I was also struggling to get a wide tooth comb through my hair when it was wet after washing with this product. Unfortunately the divine smell and other pros of this product don't outweigh the not so great stuff, which was so disappointing as I would have gladly switched my normal haircare regime for these products - which is the highest praise I can give any product.

Like it's conditioner counterpart this Garnier line has been designed to look ridiculously cute! The scent is so yummy that you just want to eat it.

As someone with fine hair, it can be hard to find a shampoo that doesn't leave my hair flat and limp at the end of the day. I was pleasantly surprised at how well my hair lasted during the day after using the shampoo and I finally had volume YAY!

I will 100% be buying this again and happily recommend to anyone with fine hair.

This shampoo is the tits. It smells utterly delicious, it leaves my hair feeling really clean (but not that gross kind of squeaky clean), and it's cruelty-free - yes, yes and yes please. I don't think it really added much volume to my hair, but it certainly didn't weigh it down at all and it felt great after a wash. Would 100% re-purchase.

I have fine, thin, flat, smooth silky hair naturally.

Packaging - very colourful, eye catching and appealing, great that it is recyclable too. Fragrance- I love that the smell is so refreshing, not overpowering watermelon smell. However, when I have washed it off my hair, the smell became so subtle, I can barely smell the watermelon. I feel though that certainly my hair felt cleansed after use.

Volume -I usually leave my hair to airdry. This shampoo surprisingly did not leave my hair flat, I can see that my hair has a slight bounce and volume.

Con- personally, I cannot use this product on its own, it left my hair a bit dry. Very cleansed but not smooth or silky.

I will not buy this on its own, just because in order to use this and to work well for me, I need to also purchase either the conditioner or hair food mask or both.

Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Shampoo comes in a fun, brightly coloured bottle. It's easy to open which is a must in the shower. I liked that the packaging is made with 50% recycled plastic and is recyclable and the formula is 96% biodegradable. The shampoo smells like fresh sweet watermelon and leaves your hair smelling delicious. It foams up nicely and is easy to rinse away leaving hair feeling fresh and clean. My hair was left noticeably softer and fuller. The only drawback was my very fine hair needed a product to tame the fluffiness, but it definitely creates volume.

I was quite impressed with this shampoo. It has a pleasant fruity scent. It has a thin consistency so I needed to use a lot to get a good lather through my hair. My hair did appear fully and voluminous after using. I would recommend this shampoo for anyone who is wanting to add volume to their hair.

This handy 350ml sized shampoo is totally vegan without any animal origin or testing and doesn't contain any silicone. It smells just as you would expect of a watermelon scented shampoo and it lathers up into a light foam that gently washes your hair. I found my hair definitely had more volume without weighdown after using which is a bonus for my fine coloured hair so it does do what it says. The bottle is recyclable which is a bonus but I did find it hard to read the ingredients list on the bottle as the print is quite small. The shampoo bottle is a different colour to the conditioner which is helpful for anyone like myself that struggles to read without glasses.

A big issue with fine hair is that anything volumising can tend to be drying, anything moisturising tends to weigh your hair down and it is not uncommon to have to wash Every.Day.For.The.Rest Of.Your.Life.This clear shampoo promises to give fine hair volume, bounce and movement. A clear shampoo in a milk bottle style bottle, and smelling of watermelon, this formula is pleasant and cleanses well. BUT...I don't find it any different to any other volumising shampoo. Two things I really liked were the packaging (made from recycled plastic and also recyclable) and the fact that I only had to wash my hair every other day. Which made a nice change. I found it very drying.

What can I say....the claims were big and hit my hair issues right on the nose, I was excited to try this range. First up, love the packaging, not too big and bulky like some other brands and loved that they were being friendly to the environment. I washed my hair and learnt very quickly that a little goes a long way! I washed it through and sadly found the smell very unpleasant. I thought watermelon would be refreshing but sadly was not the case. Followed up with the conditioner and leave in mask (review in another post).
