I love the Rosehip by Essano range and this cleanser is fab. However, two problems I have with it are it smells quite strongly, I don't know if there is a lot of alcohol in it, but that's what it smells like. Second, it doesn't lather up very well. Having said that, I love it and have ben using it for about 5 months now.

First off I have to say I love this product, I have fair skin which does not get many breakouts and I find this is the perfect cleanser because it makes my skin feel clean and fresh, it balances it out and just makes it feel soft and nice. I also find that this regulates my skin, so like using other products I would sometimes get breakouts but this one tends to just keep my skin at it's perfect level.
Tips: Really great for normal - sensitive skin. May not be as effective for those with serious acne problems but if you just want something to balance your skin out then this is perfect.
I got this in the Essano trial size pack, but this is probably my least favourite of the products from that.
I love the packaging; both the colour scheme and the practicality of the pump bottle, and I really like the smell, which is a slightly sugary rose scent in my opinion, but very mild and not irritating.
However, I just don’t love much else about this cleanser. Because it doesn’t foam up a lot (it’s almost in between cream/foaming), I have to use quite a bit (at least four pumps with the mini bottle) to actually have enough for my entire face. That means I go through a lot of product each time I use it.
The main reason I won’t be repurchasing this is that, like every other foaming cleanser I’ve tried, it leaves my skin feeling a bit tight and dry. It’s nowhere near as bad as some other brands I have tried, but given that it claims to replenish the skin’s natural moisture barrier and be non-drying, it is disappointing. That being said, my skin just doesn’t seem to agree with any type of foaming cleanser, so it may not have this effect for everyone.
This isn’t the worst cleanser I’ve used, but it’s still not for me. If you’re wanting to try it out I’d definitely recommend buying the pack of mini size products so that you can try out some of the rest of the range also – the night cream and rosehip oil are particularly amazing!
I was reading into rose hip oils and how great it is for your skin. I have combination skin with a couple pimple prone areas around my t-zone. I found my skin to be more balanced and to have improved incredibly by using this cleanser.
I found this cleanser to be gentle and quite hydrating. Did not dry out the skin like other cleansers do. The great this is natural as it does not contain any sulfurs or parabens. Great and gentle on the skin, yet I find removes my makeup well.
The gel formula means it wont foam up too much, so dont expect it to be all bubbly on your face. The only downside is that as it comes in a pump bottle and the formula is quite thick, you cant get most of the product left in the bottom of the bottle. I wish it came in a squeeze tube.
I liked the fact that this cleanser was more natural and didn't contain nasty chemicals but I'm not a huge fan of foaming cleansers. I much prefer cream cleansers and felt like I needed quite a bit of cleanser to actually clean my face. It has a light fragrance, which is pleasant but it left my face feeling a little dry. I really like some of the other Essano products but probably wouldn't use this one again.
I purchased this in the pack of miniatures this brand sells to try out this range of products and see whether I wanted to purchase full sizes of any of them. As a lover of rosehip oil as a moisturiser this range really appealed to me.
I love that this comes in a pump bottle as I find this the quickest and cleanest way to use most beauty/skincare products. The cleanser looks like a gel when it is dispensed and when massaged into the skin turns into a light foam (it doesn't foam as much as a standard cleanser and to me is somewhere in between a cream cleanser and really foamy soap like cleanser). I like the light scent that this product has and have found it nice and gentle on my dry sensitive skin. Despite its gentleness I feel it cleanses my face well and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry and tight. I think this is a great cleanser for those who want something gentle and effective, but, probably not the best for those with more blemished skin who need a stronger (salicylic acid (or similar) containing) cleanser.
I think this is great value for money and I will enjoy using it when my skin isn't so prone to breakouts.
Tips: Purchase the miniature pack and try this in the small size before purchasing the full size to see if this is right for you :)
I got this, like many of you, in the travel size pack about 2 months ago. Overall I really love it. My skin is slightly oily and this has been good for that, I have had far less breakouts since using the range. I usually remove make up with a wipe first, then wash my face with this, followed by the night cream and so far so good! Will be buying it in the full size :)
Like many others here I bought the pack of miniatures to try out this range of products. I was keen because this cleanser is free of parabens and claims to be made in NZ from organic ingredients. I was impressed enough after using up the sample to buy a full size product and have been using it for about three months now. On the plus side, this is an inexpensive, easily bought product, just pop it in with the weekly shop. It is in a handy pump package which dispenses just the right amount for cleansing the face and neck. I have found it to be lightly fragranced and easy to use. It makes a nice foam which spreads well. It rinses off easily and skin feels nice and clean after use. On the other hand I am finding that my skin feels a bit dry and tight after using this cleanser and I am in a hurry to put on my serum and moisturiser. Eye make up is not totally removed by this product either, but it is a bit much to expect from any cleanser! Previously I had been using a trilogy cream cleanser and changed mostly because of the fabulous expense - I will be going back to that product, but will continue to buy this for my teenaged daughters who are finding this cleanser great for their oilier skin.
I got a trial pack of the Essano range and being a huge fan of rosehip oil and some of the other Essano products I was really hoping this cleanser would be great. Unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. I found that the cleanser didn't remove my makeup. I have to cleanse a number of time or use another makeup removing product. The cleanser has a nice sweet but subtle scent. It claims to be a foaming cleanser but it didn't seem to foam up for me. It did leave my skin feeling nice and soft (after numerous washes to gt makeup off). I would only recommend it to some one who doesn't wear makeup.
I found the cleanser to quite easy to apply, though it didn't foam as much like other cleansers. My skin didn't feel dry after using it, however I am combination skin so I am not sure how this would fair with people who have very oily skin. Sadly the smell just wasn't pleasant for me, the other Essano the cream and oil etc smell really good its just this cleanser smells quite metallically..
