I don't colour my hair and haven't since I shaved for a cure however I have used this shampoo a number of times now as its really hydrating and tames my hair a lot better than other shampoos. The only thing that I found with this shampoo (as I have a sensitive scalp) it gave me very flaky and itchy scalp after washing my hair a few times with it. It also made my hair after a few days look really oily and if I straightened my hair by the end of the day it was oily. However no frizz or flyaways is worth it at times. The packaging is bright which is awesome. The bottles are easy to get the product out of and hold when squeezing and the price is always a good price. Even though my hair reacted the way it did my daughters hair looks amazing when using it.

Bought this after i recently coloured my hair brown from blonde to preserve the colour. Picked it up for a steal at countdown on sale as I'm a huge fan of loreal products. I love the smell, as with most of loreals products so no surprises there, easy to get out of the bottle and you don't need much as it lathers very well. i can't say i've seen a significant change in my how long my colour lasts since starting this but I can't see any harm either way.
I bought this a couple of months ago to see if it would protect my firey red hair from fading too fast and going down the plughole. I had tried other L'Oreal Paris Elvive products before so was rather hopeful that this would do me good just like the others had. First off $6.50 is what I paid for this and I think it is pretty standard now for salon brand supermarket shampoo and conditioners. It is both affordable and also quality for me.
I do love me some red so the fact that this shampoo bottle is bright red and matches my hair makes my heart happy. It stands out like pick me, pick me so of course I had to have it. I liked that it promised to help preserve the colour I have because fade is my number 2 pet peeve. I needed this to slow down so I wasn't spending hundreds of dollars keeping it intense.
I used it on day 5 after dying my hair to see the true power of this baby. The smell is very intense and salon like. It's actually nice but very in your face. The consistency is quite thick and cream in colour. It's quite luxurious really. I massage it in my hair making sure I scrub it to the roots and through the lengths. I leave it in for four minutes (tank supply water and all) and rinse thoroughly. Of course there will be colour down the plug but nowhere near as much as with normal shampoo.
After rinsing my hair feels knotted and straw like eeww!!! I am so glad I don't wash my hair all the time or my hair would be so dry. Even though it feels like straw and lacks moisture I am impressed that my colour still remains intense and in your face so despite the feeling it leaves me with it did what I wanted it to do YAY!
Of course once you use the sibling conditioner the results become very different. To see the results read my L'Oreal Paris Elvive Colour Perfect Conditioner review!
Tips: Use the conditioner it comes with to see the true results
I started using this Shampoo after I had finished up my L'oreal vitamino shampoo. I have been using l'oreal shampoos for years but decided to try something a bit cheaper. This was on special at the supermarket so decided to give it a go.
It comes out quite runny when you open the lid but has a pleasant smell and it lathers reasonably well. I find this Shampoo cleans my hair well and doesn't leave any residue in my hair. Compared to the vitamino shampoo I am not sure if it gives me the same shine and colour protection as I still notice colour washing down the drain.
I will continue to use this until it is all finished but will probably go back to the vitamino shampoo and conditioner for better colour protection as I regularly colour my hair red.
The shampoo comes in an attractive shiny red bottle that caught my eye at the supermarket. It has a flip top lid and is easy to use in the shower. The shampoo has quite a strong, perfumy scent which can be a bit off-putting. I regularly colour my hair scarlet red, and I find that most shampoos strip the colour of of my roots. This shampoo did wonders for my roots and kept them a vibrant red. Normally when I use other colour shampoos I still end up seeing red dye wash down the shower drown and end up with patchy roots, but thankfully, not with this shampoo. There has been no dye washing down the drain since I have began using the shampoo and my roots have stayed a vibrant red. The shampoo does lather up quite a lot and I find it is very difficult to fully wash out of my hair, which is the only negative for me. I would definitely repurchase this product as it was very affordable and does an excellent job of protecting my coloured hair from fading and washing out.
I brought this because it was on special and I had never tried it before and I love trying new products also I couldn't be bothered going to the pharmacy to buy my regular shampoo and conditioner.
I love the bright red of this bottle it wants you to buy it, it wants you to notice it but... This is about where the love stops.
The shampoo has more of a thinner consistency than other shampoo and I didn't find it lather up too much. The scent has a sweet scent but it is very subtle. It's an opaque shampoo with a shimmer through it. I have dry hair that gets dyed frequently so I need a good shampoo and conditioner
I also brought the matching conditioner and found it quite hard to tell the two bottles apart the only difference was the conditioner sits on its flip top lid but several times I had gone to use them and the kids had been in the shower before me and the bottles were just laying on their sides so I found myself fluffing and mucking around trying to find the right one. As for keeping colour I wouldn't know I only got a couple of washes out of it I felt like I had to use a lot to get it to feel like it was washed. I was a bit disappointed because I usually like Loreal products.
I picked this up a month ago from Countdown on special for $4 which I thought was a good price for a supermarket shampoo. I used this before I got my hair re-dyed and then after I recently got my hair done. I have dyed blonde hair (from a light brown). I have been dyeing my hair for over 10years now. First off I loved the smell of this Shampoo. It smelt like a salon shampoo which was lovely. So nice to be in the shower feeling a bit fancy. I found it wasn't particularly foaming so it took a bit of working in. It wasn't particularly clarifying. Although this is sort of nice as it isn't drying. I can't speak for how much it keeps my colour in. But it hasn't turned my colour brassy so I'm impressed by that. So overall I enjoyed this, but don't know if it is really any better than any other shampoo I have used.
I've used this shampoo about 8 times over the last 2 weeks - and during this time have also had my hair colored. It's been great! It's feeling very strong and although I use purple shampoo every second wash(blonde) this shampoo has been very effective. It hard deffinitly helped with the greasiness on my scalp! I've noticed my colour is vibrant and definitely holding with this shampoo ! Happy customer :)
Tips: I used this 4 times a week and it worked perfect!
This is my first review that I have ever done on a shampoo. Im never usually too fussed about what brand I get as I think they all do the same. As long as it smells good and it doesnt leave me hair feeling oil Im all for it. I dye my hair with a box dye.... Naughty, I know! But Im lucky with being a brunette as I find its easier to maintain, I only need to dye the roots every 4-6 weeks. So below I am just going to do bullet points of the shampoo (pros and cons) and hopefully this will help you girls that are more intuned to your hair, unlike me :) x
* Ok so I love information, when it comes to products I love to know what special key notes that the brand have put on their bottles to make it stand out from all the rest. First thing I noticed was NEW 80% of colour preserved after 28 washes. I unfortunately havent done that many washes to see if that fact is 100% true, I have maybe done 8 or so washes. I usually only wash my hair 3 times a week, but for the purpose of this review I tried my hardest to wash it at least every second day to put it to the test! So far Im pretty impressed with how well the colour has lasted, especially when sticking to a colour protect range. Its only lightened in certain areas around the roots, I did get my hair cut (and washed) inbetween this process so that proberbly doesnt help but I did find that after about 2 or so weeks that I had coloured my hair (and I did do my whole head to get rid of the old dye that was in it) that it still looks almost freshly done. Im curious to see how long its going to last ;). Another key note that stuck out to me was that it does have UVA and UVB filters in this product, I have never noticed this on any other brands of shampoo (correct me if Im wrong) but I am a big sucker for any protection against the UV rays!!! Who shouldnt be!! This technology is proberbly what has helped my colour last longer as all us brunettes know the sun is a pain at lightening our hair, especially if we are wanting to acheive a nice rich deep colour! So Im all for that!
* The packaging is the only thing that bothers me, if only the base of it was a bit thinker so that its not so easy to fall over in the shower. For some reason that annoys the living day lights out of me, I like products that can stand their own in the shower! :P The smell of this product is pleasent as well, nothing to overpowering it just has a nice fresh and slightly floral scent to it.
Overall I find this shampoo to be a pretty good one. It has managed to keep my colour lasting longer while giving me a good wash. Im still yet to keep at it with this product as Im curious about the 80% factor after 28 washes, Im sure it is a true fact otherwise it would be false advertising but I just struggle to see how thats possible.. But with the UV filters, you cant go wrong with that! :) I hope this has been somewhat helpful, found it a bit difficult as Im not usually a hair focused girl but wanted to give it a go anyways xx
Tips: Sorry ladies no tips for this one. There is one on my conditioner review though :) x
I decided to try this shampoo because I was sick of my highlights looking yellow a day after toning them and because I few people I know in the hair industry use L'Oreal themselves.
I am pretty sold as far as the colour lock in goes. My highlights are staying white blonde without toning for longer and not going brassy as quickly.
In terms of deep nourishment, my hair still looks the same (a little dry) but feels slightly softer.
Valuewise, L'Oreal is often slightly more expensive than many of the shampoo brands with the same litreage. But this is the first hair product to impress me in a while, so for now I think I'll stick with it.
