Not too bad

I don't care for the pale green colour of the bottle if I'm honest and it looks a bit cheap in my opinion BUT the bottle is made from 100% recycled material! I like the twist lock on the top of the pump and one pump is enough for me to cover my whole face. I like how the packaging tells you how it is environmentally conscious and shows the true size of the product bottle inside. It states it doesn't leave a white cast which is true and it says it has SPF15 but I wouldn't use this in summer as a sun protection as it is only a light protection factor, not enough to protect against our NZ sun..for winter use I guess it's okay. The smell is nice and fresh and one of my favourite things about this product. I'm very wary of using 'brightening' products on my eyebrows as I have them tattooed on and don't want them to fade quickly so I made sure not to get it on my eyebrows just in case. I don't think a week is long enough to see any difference in "brightness" unfortunately. I used it under make up which worked well but plain on my face (when I didn't wear make up) I felt I was slightly greasy/shiny so it definitely adds moisture as it stated but for my skin type added moisture is not necessary. It made my skin feel soft and there was no sticky residue so I've found pros and cons in this product but I don't think it's the right product for me and my skin type.

Clean Green Garnier

I was intrigued to try this product, as I have never seen a serum, moisturiser and sunscreen all in one before! I was keen to see how it went with my skin type (dry, sensitive, and I have some uneven skin tone) and how it would go over consecutive days.

I love the packaging- how it’s made from 100% recycled materials! It’s also great to see the environmental initiative of this range. The colour scheme is green and white, and I liked that it looked bright and clean. It’s a pump style bottle, it also twists and locks so would be really easy to travel with. The pump itself was easy to use (not stiff!) and easy to control the amount of product that came out. I found 1 pump was good for me.

The consistency was a thicker, creamy type texture, more similar to sunscreen. It smelt sweet (sort of like pineapple, as it has the pineapple ingredients in it) and also like the typical sunscreen smell. I didn’t mind the smell, however I didn’t think it was a ‘nice’ smell. It was easy to spread over my face, however it felt like it didn’t fully absorb- it left a bit of a tacky or slippery film, very similar to some sunscreens. Throughout the day, I could feel it on my face.

I do have sensitive skin- and I was really pleased that this did not cause any irritation at all! It claims to be good with sensitive skin, and for my skin it was fine. I also have dry skin - as this is a 3 in 1 product, I wasn’t sure whether this would have enough moisture for me. I didn’t use any of my normal skin care, only some facial spray underneath when using this product. My skin didn’t feel too dry throughout the day, and I didn’t notice any dry patches. However, after using this for consecutive days, I did find that I had more breakouts (chin and forehead area) and also that my skin felt tighter and drier in the evenings after the cleanser. I don’t think this product had enough moisture for me due to this increased dryness in the evenings. I used my normal skincare in the evenings, as this has SPF.

Overall, this product is not for me, as it didn’t provide enough moisture for my skin type. It claims to have 24hr moisture, however not enough for my skin and also cussed some breakouts. Perhaps a skin type that’s more combination or oily, it would work better. It was fine with my sensitive skin though, which was awesome! I unfortunately didn’t notice any difference in the brightness of my skin since using this product.

Tips: Worked great with my sensitive skin, however not suited for a drier skin type!

Why is this called a serum?

When you hear 3-in-1 serum, cream and sunscreen in one product, it sounds overpromised, and it was indeed. For the record, I did not change my toner (rosewater) just to see the difference, and I did not notice any difference for the "bright glowing skin" I was promised. It was lightweight indeed but it was only SPF15 so if I were thinking of going for a longer walk in the sun, then I felt like I needed more SPF anyways so I had to add extra sunscreen which sorta defeats the purpose of this product. Overall, not recommendable.

Tips: Make sure you apply very thin layer of this product, otherwise you'll get the white crease you tend to get with the "Sunscreen" also make sure you avoid the eye area (a bit wider than your usual for sunscreen s) because it'll somehow make your eyes sting a bit more...
