I chose the Olay Regenerist Whip UV Cream with SPF 30 in the Beauty Vault because I was looking for an anti-ageing cream and I am also a big fan of wearing sunscreen every day. In my opinion the best way to deal with skin ageing is to reduce UV exposure and avoid causing skin damage in the first place, so I was delighted to find a face cream that had an SPF of 30 at the same time as being able to reduce already existing signs of ageing. The packaging of this cream looks really nice, but unfortunately it is not recyclable. Given the plethora of recyclable plastics, glass etc. available today I think this is a real misstep from Olay. I have been using Olay products for many years, usually just simple moisturising face creams with SPF, and I have always really liked them, however, this is the first time that I have used a “whip” rather than a normal face cream. Sadly, I have to say that I do not particularly like the consistency of the whip, and it also smells a bit “chemical”. I was not using any other products with anti-ageing ingredients while using the Regenerist Cream, and I was eventually using it once per day. The first time I used it, it seemed to be absorbed into the skin at first, but then my skin felt like it was burning a little, and I could not tell if the cream was peeling off again as I kept trying to massage it in, or if indeed some skin was coming off. At this point I was a little worried as my skin had never reacted to any face cream before, and googled the cream to see if Olay had any information on this. While I could not find any information from Olay I found that many reviews of the cream mentioned similar issues, but with no negative outcomes. There did not seem to be any damage to my skin, and I did not want to waste the rest of the cream, so I waited a couple of days and tried again, assuming that my skin would just need to get used to the anti-ageing ingredients in the cream. This time there was less burning and peeling, and after a few days of using the cream every second day, I went to using it every day and I had no more burning sensation. The slight peeling does however still occasionally happen, even now that I have been using the cream for months. I am not sure if this is due to it being a whip rather than a regular cream or caused by the ingredients. Over all, the cream is certainly hydrating, it has the promised matt finish, and I like that it has SPF 30. However, I cannot say that it has caused the advertised “skin appearance transformation”. While I will not buy this product again, I think it may suit other people who like the whip and whose skin might react differently to the ingredients.

I was excited to try this one. I love a mosturiser with a decent SPF and this sounded so promising. The jar is a beautiful red with a swirly pattern inside to give that Ice cream whip effect and would look great on many a shelf. The texture is heavenly. Light, creamy and not at all greasy or oily which SPF moisturisers often are. My skin felt hydrated and had a lovely shine free finish. This is unfortunately where the good times ended for me. The fragrance seems delicate at first sniff, but once applied to the face it is all you can smell for a good half hour following. DO NOT get this anywhere near your eyes, or into any scratches on your face it will sting and it will sting bad. I have had a couple of small breakouts since using it, this and the stinging I put down to the fragrance. If they made an unscented version I would definitely be keen to give it another go as I feel they are on the right track to a winner.
Was excited to give Olay a test run.. it comes in a pot, which i think a bottle with a pump would be better for all sorts of reasons. but a big pot is value for money.
It said it was a whip.. but i don"t know what that means as i thought the consistency would be more whippy. but was just a normal cream.
Love how it is a 30 spf so that is a defiant bonus
It was a quick absorbing cream, i didn't find it spread easily.. but that might be personal experience.. i also didn't find it to be too moisturising.. but i defiantly think it is a great option for before your make up as a base. and with a oil on top
Sometimes you need to use the product for longer to see the real benefits
Thanks again for letting me try
Tips: great base and pop your oil on after to get the extra moisture
Although this product has hyaluronic acid and spf 30, unfortunately for me the fragrance was far too strong and irritated my eyes even when I didn’t apply it near them. It has all the makings of being a great product, it has a texture like mousse and glides on easy and isn’t greasy. I’m sure it would work wonders for others and I would have loved to be able to use it but I just can’t.
Tips: If you have sensitive eyes I wouldn’t recommend as the fragrance is very strong
