I rushed out to buy this because of the hype! was made out to be amazing for removing make up and washing brushes etc but it does remove my make up very well at all. I use a micro fibre cloth and water to get my make up off then run a cotton wool with micellar water over my face just to get any excess before using face wash, the middle step is really unnecessary but I'm just trying to use it all up

After ALL the hype and Holy Grail reviews i had read and heard, i thought i just had to get it! I am not dissapointed that i bought it. I dont use it everyday, as i dont wear a full face of makeup everyday, but when i do use it, its so easy! pop on a swisspers pad, and gently wipe away your makeup. seriously it only takes me about 2 minutes to completely clean my face.\
I do however have one dislike, its that i find it doesnt really take off some of my foundations, like Estee Lauder Double Wear, YSL Fusion ink, Better skin and the likes (more full coverage and long lasting foundations), but that is the only gripe i have. It doesnt have a smell, the bottle is simple, there is enough product to last ages and for me, it just works really well. I am hesitant telling mates to go and get, due to some of my friends breaking out and having reactions, but i really do think this product is great!
Tips: If using to take off fuller coverage/long lasting foundation, cleanse face first or cleanse after with your normal cleanser, or just use it for those days you have less coverage etc. xx
To be honest, I was sceptical of this product at first. However once I used it I was converted! It is a great cleanser for when you are on the go, great for those who travel. It's also a fantastic brush cleaner and restored my brushes to almost new!
Really affordable as well which is a bonus since you will be using it all the time!
Tips: Wonderful brush cleaner!
I had heard from so many people how this water was a miracle and was their holy grail cleanser/makeup remover. Now I am blasphemous by nature but I didn't expect this to fall so flat - even for a heretic :p
First of all this was damn near impossible to get my hands on. There was SO much hype about it that finding it seemed impossible. Eventually I found it and was extremely excited to try this water out.
The packaging is something I do like about this product. I like that the lid is a flip top, which makes using this hassle free. I also really like that the bottle is clear so I can see how much product is in it.
The product itself, however... I feel it is SUPER overrated. It could just be me but I didn't feel this did anything magical or anything that my cleansing oil can't do. In fact, this falls short of my cleansing oil. This does remove makeup - but only to a certain point. At least on me, anyway. Every time I have used this I have used my cleansing oil after it and still gotten makeup off of my face - even if I have double cleansed my face with this. While this doesn't hurt my eyes when using it to remove mascara and liner, nor does it actually remove the above. Well it kind of does - but there is always remnants of mascara and liner left, which I then have to use my cleansing oil to fully remove.
Whilst this is an inexpensive product, I feel that this definitely isn't worth the price - for me at least. It fell way below my expectations and I feel that a $2 pack of baby wipes does a better job than this at removing my makeup.
Overall this was super disappointing to me and I absol won't be purchasing it again. I will finish the bottle I have, but I won't buy it again.
I'll start with the positives - The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is great at removing makeup. It removes possibly 99% of all my makeup, and it doesnt sting. One not so positive, is the way it leaves my skin feeling after. It feels both oily and dry and I end up having to go and wash my face properly with a facial cleanser afterwards, which I dont have to do with my other makeup removers. It has caused small breakouts in the more sensitive areas of my face so this is quite a turn-off. Though seeing as it is really good at removing stubborn makeup, I use it only when I desperately need to.
Tips: If you have really sensitive skin, or skin that is prone to breaking out, I wouldnt reccomend, and it is probably a better eye and lip makeup remover, rather than a full face :)
I bought this after hearing all the hype and at first i loved it until it got into my eyes and stung. i found the actual solution didn't remove my foundation (maybelline super stay) very well and i ended up just using a make up wipe after. i would recommend it to people who don't have such sensitive eyes and don't wear glasses. it made my eyes very foggy once i put my glasses back on.
Tips: don't soak the cotton pad too much!
After hearing the mostly amazing reviews of the Garnier Miceller water, its no wonder this product has been on my radar and my wish list for almost a year. I was always tempted to purchase it online, but never did so when this product became readily available in New Zealand; of course I had to try it.
First impressions? Well it comes in a massive bottle which is made from a clear plastic, and has a pretty pink lid on top. The packaging is simplistic and understated, but I actually quite like it. The see through bottle lets you see the liquid inside that some are referring to as ‘holy water’, and I suppose I get the reference because it does just look like water in regards to colour and consistency. On first look, it seems like mine had fine particles floating through it which looked like dust of something. Not sure what it actually was though. I thought I would also mention just how foamy this cleanser is, and the reason I found that out was because I dropped it, and the whole air space of the bottle filled up with a bubbly solution.
The first time I used this; I just applied it to a cotton pad and then wipes the pad over my face and oh.my.gosh. I was shocked to see how much makeup came off. In fact, I actually ended up using 3 or 4 wipes to get all the makeup off, but I was so impressed. I do follow this with cleaning my face just with warm water because the thought of leaving cleanser on my face doesn’t make sense to me. This quickly became the product I reached for at night, until about 3 days after when my skin started breaking out like crazy. A bit of background about my skin, about from being sensitive, its pretty well behaved with blemishes mostly being confined to my t-zone. Or so it was until I stated using this product and my skin became bumpy everywhere. Not great. This product is great at removing makeup, but my skin just doesn’t like it. I will finish the bottle off because now I used it with a cotton bud to remove mascara and makeup mistakes when I get ready and it work really well for that purpose without my skin getting upset. Definitely worth a try, because if your skin agrees with this, I think you’ve just found a new favourite product.
This is a great cleanser as well as make up remover for my sensitive skin. My now go to product and I will never give it up! I love that it doesn't make your skin feel oily or slimy afterwards. Soothes my skin after a long day without too much rubbing or scrubbing
Tips: Use generously. Wet two cotton pads and press onto each eye and wiggle gentle before wiping product away.
I brought this under all the hype about how it is a dupe for Bioderma. I use this before I cleanse my face with a Swissper cotton pad to remove most of my makeup. It does a good job of getting my face makeup off and brows before cleansing but for eye makeup such as strong mascaras and eyeliners it is a little hard to get off, eyeshadow it takes off easy. Since having short straight asian eyelashes I use mainly waterproof mascara and this just doesn't do the job for me I always have to go in with my Neutrogena eye makeup remover to get it off, which sucks because I thought this could be my holy grail one stop product to removing my makeup and strong mascara but sadly it doesn't. Apart from that I like how it is very gentle, and really preps my skin before getting the last remittance of makeup off my skin
I was so determined to get my hands on this after all the hype about it on the makeup obsessives page. But It hadn't been released in Nz (it was due to release about a week after I purchased it). I found it on the hikosencara website and without any hesitation I put it in my cart. It was roughly $20, it could have been a wee bit more but I didn't know any better and didn't think any thing of it untill I told my friends about it. They then went on to tell me that when it releases in Nz it would roughly be $13 so understandably I was a little disappointed. Anyway....
I had been using it to remove my makeup (as you do) and I was loving how quick and easy it was. It removed all of my makeup with ease, I even used an oil cleanser afterwards to see if there was still any makeup that the micellar water had missed but the cotton pad was clear. No yucky left over makeup, just clean skin and a white cotton pad. I had used it roughly 6 times and it had barely used any product. I was so impressed that I actually went out and bought another one (never hurts to have a backup right).
Well a couple of days later, I noticed my skin had broken out, really badly. My forehead was the worst. I had huge red bumps all over it :( It was the worst breakout I had ever had. They slowly started to appear on my cheeks and onto my chin aswell. I carried on using my micellar water and they just continued to get worse. I immediately stopped using it and tried to let my skin breathe for the next few days so I didn't make my breakouts worse.
It took weeks for them to heal and settle down. I haven't touched the micellar water since and have just started using my skinfood cleans all again and it has made a huge difference.
I'm really sad that my skin didn't agree with this product. I loved how easy it was to remove my makeup at the end of the day. I will definitely give the micellar water another go, it just wont be the garnier one.
