Pretty much everyone has heard about these lipsticks and how they're so good so I knew straight away I just NEEDED to try these out for myself. I have the colours: Cosmopop, Babette and Great Pink Planet. Great Pink Pink Planet is your perfect girly barbie pink. Babette is like your nude soft pink and Cosmopop a bright orange but it's not as bright as they show on their product lip swatches!
First of all I need to start with the packaging! It is so funky and cute and I just love how the packaging is purple with unicorns and stars. Yes it does seem a little immature and it's not as chic as most other lipsticks but it's different and stands out among the rest and I love that. It's fun.
They are matte and very pigmented, you honestly do not need to apply much to get full cover which is great because it seems they will last longer as they are on the pricey side. They can feel drying but just apply lip balm straight before you apply the lippy and it's algood. These last ages on your lips, the only downside is they wear eating or drinking. I constantly apply lip balm throughout the day so i imagine that could 'wear' the lippy off like how it does with other lip sticks I have but that doesn't happen with these (hope you know what I'm trying to say).
The only stand out thing with these that I dislike is that when you have a drink they transfer onto the cup and it's very obvious but looking at your lips the colour is still there which is great but it's just annoying having lippy all over your cup haha.
Would I buy more? Going by the lipsticks themselves I definitely would but I'm actually loving MAC matte lipsticks alot more than these. There has been alot of drama surrounding the company but they're still good lip sticks. Please note if your after natural looking colours Lime Crime is not for you as pretty much all the colours are pretty out there and bright!
I had heard so many rave reviews from the BR ladies on these little gems that I finally had to try them. I picked the shades Geradium and Babette.First off packaging – this is the most fun vibrant funky little tube of lipstick I have ever owned with its bright purple/pink canitster and silver stars and unicorn it’s a definate standout in my books !.Before both colours I made sure to prime my lips with a scrub and a lip balm as I had heard these can be a little drying. Babette – I was super dying to try this colour the swatch on the lime crime website is a nude pinky corally colour which I thought would be a perfect nude for me on my lips – however in real life the colours are not the same. In the tube it looks like a nude pink based colour I still actually luckily really love babette for me , its much more pinky in the tube and on my lips than the official swatch but I did still love this. It applied easily not streaky or patchy glides on and is super pigmented and opaque. I am pleased I used a lip balm first as these are a little on the dry side although with the right priming it wasn’t an issue. This did transfer to my coffee cup which I really hate but on the bright side when I checked my lips they werent patchy or horrible they still looked the same so im happy with that I don’t know how that works but it did. This wore for a few hours easily before needing to be touched up. I am definitely pleased I purchased this colour – this will be an everyday easy to use staple for me I think just the right kind of shade for my skin tone. A really good bright nude. Geradium – I actually ordered this one by mistake but again super happy I did. I was dissapointed that again the lime crime official swatch actually isnt what I got in my hot little hands – however I was lucky that I am a huge fan of pinky based lipsticks so this still was a great lippie for me. The lime crime official swatch has a totally different pink tone to what you get in real life its much more barbieesque and pink. Again this is super pigmented and applied brilliantly you don’t need to use a lot to get a super opaque finish. This was a bright standout colour probably not for everyone but I have always loved a bright pink so this fits nicely into my collection. This had a similar problem to Babette in that it did transfer to your coffee mugs etc but again it didn’t leave you with nothing on your lips it somehow still looks the same. Again this lasted a few hours before needing a redo which is good in my books. These are quite a pricey lipstick and while I do actually love the colours I got I wouldn’t buy anymore as their swatches just don’t match what you actually get I was lucky I loved mine but I don’t understand how they are so different. All in all though these are a neat little addition to my collection and I am not unhappy with my purchases.
Tips: These are super opaque so you don't need to use alot
