My go to

I have been using this toothpaste for years, it's great! My favourite is Herbal but I also like Natural and Lemon. It leaves my whole mouth feeling sparkly clean and so fresh. I find other toothpastes a bit too strong and burny but this is gentle and tastes good.

Not convinced..

Received this in a Bridal Goodie bag and have been contemplating to switching to natural Toothpaste for awhile as I am pretty conscious of fluoride etc..

First impressions based on packaging were hopeful. This sounded like this was the answer to what I had been searching for.

I generally use 'whitening' Toothpaste and this one isn't although the brand does do a baking soda version for that purpose.

First impression on the product itself.. Easy to squeeze tube. Smells pleasant... Taste... Odd very odd... At first I wasn't sure I was going to be able to brush my Teeth for as long as usual as I am pregnant and funny things are prone to making me gag! Is the taste unpleasant? Sort of... Its a very stevia, herbal, menthol concoction and you can taste it!

Result.. Honestly.. My teeth do not feel anywhere near as clean as when I use other Toothpastes or even whitening Toothpastes.. My Teeth are also not looking anywhere near as white or clean as they do with other Toothpastes..

I haven't got used to the taste... I think I will just use this until its finished and might purchase the baking soda version instead and see if its any better for me!

Tips: Great if you are conscious of what is in your Toothpaste and that is your only concern.

Not for me.

I've tried this a couple of times, but I just don't like it.

I find that the texture is a bit grainy, which I find weird, although I guess it's just something that you can get used to over time.

It does a perfectly fine job at cleaning your teeth, which is the important thing, and it does get rid of 'morning breath' (ew, yucky!) as well.

However the main reason I won't reuse, is that I just can't get past the taste. This is a personal thing, but I have to use minty-flavoured toothpaste or I don't feel like I've cleaned my teeth properly, no matter how silly that is. For that reason, plus the texture-issue, I won't repurchase.

If you're not worried about mintiness, however, it could be worth a try.

Hope that helps some of you! xx

Favourite Toothpaste

I got this toothpaste in my first FoodieBox and must admit I was pretty disappointed to receive something so normal ha ha ha. I dismissed it at first and then it needed to have reviews done, so I started to use it so I could review it.

First impressions after first use were really surprising. The taste was a bit weird, but I like weird and it was good not bad. I really liked the taste, I can't really put my finger on the exact taste but it was really yummy, not your usual peppermint or spearmint tasting toothpaste.

It felt really good while brushing my teeth and believe it or not I noticed results straight away. Now I'm not sure if this has whitening properties in it, but it really did seem to whiten my teeth and they felt super squeaky clean. You don't need a massive amount on your brush but I like to put a bit on my brush because I like to really taste it. I wanted to eat it this one.

Overall, it was easy to get out of the tube, it was a nice size, super yummy taste and really gave my teeth a good clean and it looked great too. I don't usually get excited about a toothpaste, but will definitely be buying this in my next shop as its nearly all gone, even the kids like it lol.

Good but not the greatest

I first tried this when I purchased a magazine and it came with a goodie bag full of household items and this was a full size sample... I was keen to try a new toothpaste anyway so thought give it a go.

Now I have quite a strong gag reflex where most toothpastes will activate it and have me dry retching; sadly this one was no exception. I did perservere with it though because as I said most pastes have the same issue (except gels). So the verdict after using it for 3 weeks... well my teeth felt clean... the taste isn't overpowering and well my teeth... starting to look a bit more discoloured than usual. Back to the previous brand I was using but hubby likes it so he has re-purchased it.

So there you have it... not for me but hubby and kids are ok with it.

Red Seal Natural Herbal Review

This is the best tooth paste. I have been using it for quite a long time now. It is really affordable and seems more natural then other brands of tooth paste. It leaves my teeth feeling clean and gives me fresh breath. I also noticed my teeth looked whiter after using this product for a few months. It is also made in NZ

No fluoride but still contains SLS and glycerine

Great herbal fresh taste (especially the smokers variety which is also a fantastic tooth whitener due to the dolomite powder it contains) however this product range annoys me a little as despite it's claims to be natural and fluoride free (which I agree should be avoided) most of the varieties still contain SLS which is a known problem chemical for many people and present in all main-stream brands. Also the smokers variant which was the last tube I bought contains sodium saccharin as a sweetner which is another toxic chemical I would want to avoid. It also concerns me that many natural brands are still including glycerine as a major component of their toothpastes which is linked to tooth decay and prevents re-mineralisation of enamel (you can research online for more information about this). Overall an ok and affordable option if you are trying to avoid fluoride containing mainstream brands but this is another green-washed brand of toothpaste in my opinion.

Natural toothpaste anyone? Not for me...

This toothpaste was sitting in my bathroom cupboard for awhile before I decided to open it, as I normally use my trusty Colgate. When that ran out I remembered I had this toothpaste that I got free in a goodie bag with a magazine purchase.

Red Seal is a brand I normally associate with vitamins, so I was interested to try this. It is all natural. Although all natural appeals to me for skincare, it doesn't really attract me to toothpaste for some reason, as I am used to my usual fluoride in toothpaste to protect my teeth.

The packaging is very simplistic and emphasises the natural theme. The tube is standard, coloured white, with a flip top cap.

Firstly, the taste of this toothpaste is very unpleasant, looking at the ingredients I think it's the strong taste of Stevia coming through mixed with a few other herbal concoctions. Unfortunately, this would have to be the worst tasting toothpaste I have tasted.

Secondly, I really feel this toothpaste doesn't do a good job of cleaning your teeth thoroughly. My breath didn't feel as fresh using this and I felt like I needed to clean my teeth again with proper toothpaste!

Also, I really look for toothpastes to be whitening for my teeth, but this product really doesn't do that.

Overall I'm not impressed with this toothpaste, and I am glad I got it as a freebie. I would not repurchase this in the future.

The Taste Bleurgh!

I'm really hesitant to review this product. To be entirely fair I didn't give it a proper go and I feel I can't really comment on it's effectiveness.

I only used this a few times before rushing out and buying a regular chemical laden toothpaste. My reason? The taste!

I could not get past that taste. The reason why I am reviewing is because, as on oral product, I feel taste is one of the defining drivers behind purchase. I am no fan of aniseed and upon opening I knew I had made a terrible mistake. It's also sweetened with stevia which I find gives a highly unpleasant mouth finish.

It did do a serviceable job of cleaning my teeth though so I wouldn't shy away from recommending it (I passed on the tube to a friend in fact)

Tips: Read the ingredients first on all products if, like me, you have taste aversions. A lesson I should have learnt a long time ago but repeat often

Good, Average, Affordable Natural Toothpaste

When I was looking into switching my beauty products into natural ones I was looking into toothpaste as well. This was affordable as I didn't want to spend a lot of money on toothpaste, so this was the only one I bought for many months. It's a nice toothpaste, not outstanding but doesn't have as many nasties as the regular toothpaste. Did freshen my breath and keep cavities at bay but didn't whiten my teeth anymore than your teeth get whitened from regular brushing. I would consider to buy this in the future if I wanted a cheap natural toothpaste.

Tips: One tube lasts a decent amount of time but if it the only natural one you can afford or like at the moment then stock up when it's on sale.
