Tips: be sure to test on skin before use in case of allergies
I have the smaller bottle of this and got it for a really affordable price (can't remember exactly how much) from my local supermarket. A lovely high quality oil which I use to help me relax and fall asleep. I usually just put a few drops on my pillow or rub a little bit into my temples before bed. A great product.
Good reputable brand and quality product. I purchase this from the supermarket and it is always reasonably priced. A few drops in the bath is a perfect way to unwind from a busy day. I also like to use this on my pillow before bed and to make my own relaxing massage balm, a few drops makes any mixture have a lovely lavender scent.
There are two oils my house is never without - Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil.
I love how lavender oil has so many uses. It is a natural anti-inflamatory, so great for headaches and muscle pains. It's an antiseptic, so great for skin uses like acne. And it can help with relaxation and sleep issues. And it can be used in so many ways - direct application, in a bath, an oil burner, on your pillow.
Thursday Plantation is a great lavender oil. Smells authentic, some have a funny smell to them. The only down side to this wee bottle is there is no dropper in the neck, so you can end up pouring out too much. Definitely invest in a wee dropper for it as you don't need much. I got the 25ml from the supermarket on special for around $11.
Tips: Use sparingly, it's strong :) Add a few drops to your favourite face mask for extra antiseptic properties and moisturising.
I was able to get a bottle from the beauty vault. I haven't previously owned a bottle of lavender oil so I don't have comparison base but I was happy to read that it was Lavendula Angustifolia oil instead of the other varieties of lavender oil which too harsh to be used directly on the skin. I used this to for a number of things.
Pimples - I applied to a big pimple I had twice a day for a couple days but it didn't seem to work and my skin burned a bit so I guess my skin was a bit sensitive. It didn't help the pimple go away and just irritated it for longer.
To calm down an allergic reaction/ minor rash - I was excited to use my new Natio Body Scrub I scored from the vault. Unfortunately, the first time I used it in my night time shower I broke out in a bunch of red, itchy bumps all over my arms, chest, back and tummy. I mixed a few drops of lavender oil in the palm of my hand when I applied body oil following my shower. Within a few hours I my skin had calmed down the and the slight rash had faded.
Vacuuming - I applied a few drops on a tissue and vacuumed the house. Made the room smell a bit like lavender.
I have given the bottle to my mom to add a add to some water in a spray bottle to spritz my younger sisters hair with as lice prevention. I would definitely consider buying a bottle of this in future and having it handy for more stuff.
Tips: I don't recommend you apply this directly on pimples as it irritated and burned my pimples and didn't help them go away. Good to mix with your body oil if you have irritation or a rash as it helped calmed down an allergic reaction I had to a body scrub.
This is one of those products that I must have lying around the house. I use it when my daughter is having a restless sleep. I also use it in her bath to soothe and calm. If I am feeling stressed, I'll burn it in an oil burner (I prefer the real stuff to the air freshener kind). I also add some to my washing while it's in the machine. When I was pregnant, I used to use it to help me sleep as well.
Tips: Rub a small amount on your temples to relieve head aches
Thursday Plantation's pure, essential oils are as good as any, and can be purchased at a great price from most supermarkets, making this one of the few, lower priced essential oils available.
I use the Lavender Oil in my lovely, white ceramic diffuser from Kmart (a must-buy diffuser) in the evenings for a great sleep, and also whenever I want to create a calming, relaxing atmosphere in the house.
It's great for insect bites, and cuts too, with it's antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Great when you run out of Tea Tree oil!
Tips: Buy the larger 50 ml bottle if/when you can find it here. It's better value and better for the environment.
When you've been struggling to sleep well for the majority of your life, a product like this can be a lifesaver! My mum bought this for me when I was about 11 and I have been using it ever since. The smell is strong depending on how much you use, but not overwhelming. It helps calm and put me in the mood for sleep very effectively and lingers for a while. Would recommend to anyone struggling with sleep or mindfulness. The only downside I have noticed is that as it is an oil, using too much can leave a slight stain on light coloured linen.
Tips: Don't use on nice/light coloured pillowcases.
Love lavender oil. A little on my wrists at night to help me wind down. I also put a drop on my grand-baby pjs to help her relax into sleep. I keep some at work and rub some into my temples if i feel a headache coming on, especially those long afternoons behind a screen. Easily blends with other oils and great in a diffuser too.
Tips: Keep it handy
I've recently started adding lavender oil into our diffuser and it had been so great to help add a claming effect and better our sleep!
You don't need much each use so the bottle will last a long time and you can of course add other essentials in together to make your perfect mix.
Tips: Can also add into water to use as a spray on your bedding for a soft lavender scent to help sleep.
